Fuzzypeach could be found on the bank tensing his muscles as he looked at the flat rock a single rabbit-length away from him, his fluffy butt wiggled as he prepared to leap. He stuck his tongue out in concentration and took the jump. His front half landed solidly on the rock, his bottom half wasn't so lucky. The fat ex-kittypet let out a shrill yowl as his back end met the cold water, making a marvelous splash that promptly soaked the rest of him. He hauled himself laboriously up onto the rock and shook out his ginger fur, his weight unbalanced him and he stumbled, his front feet hitting the water.
"Oh golly" he hissed, righting himself again and surprising himself with such strong language. Luckily no one was around to hear. All he'd wanted to do was cross the stream, and yet he couldn't even achieve that. The rotund cat had spent many a day preparing himself for the trip across the stream but it seemed he'd eaten one too many mice today. Five would have been enough, upon reflection. He wasn't going anywhere until he was dry, so instead he settled on the rock and flicked his paws and whiskers irritably to get some of the water off of him.
Tinybreath had been spending the better part of a week patrolling the newly-founded Swiftclan's territory; attempting to find bits and pieces of the rubble-filled territory that had been spared from the devastating flood that had destroyed most of her homeland so many moons ago. While the small she-cat knew that eventually, she'd have to have some long-overdue conversations with her brother Chimerastar, right now wasn't a good time for it, when the new leader had so much on his plate. So instead, the tiny black feline took it upon herself to be useful in other ways, and support her new clan as best she could.
As she was passing by one of the nicer steams in the area, she paused after hearing a loud 'splash!' coming from just downriver. The warrior quickly trotted over to the source of the noise, where her icy-blue gaze spotted one of her clanmates standing up, soaking wet in the water. It didn't take a genius to realize that he had fallen in, and without hesitation, she hopped into the water and padded over to him. "Hey, are you alright?" She meowed softly, looking at him with concern. "Are you hurt anywhere? That sounded like quite the nasty fall."

The dripping ginger tom huffed at the sound of a cat joining him, wishing it had been a fox so he could be eaten and not have to deal with the embarrassment. He looked over at the tiny black cat and tried for a half-hearted chuckle, which fell flat as he flicked his paw again, "I'm fine, just quite soggy. Not to mention mad as a bee." Fuzzypeach stood on the rock and shook his fur out again, bracing himself this time and managing to stumble a bit but stay on the rock. When he was satisfied with being just kinda soaked, he sat once more and faced the other warrior, "say, you're a sister of Chimmy, aren't ya?" He was quite fond of his nickname for their leader. "I swear all you are half-fish, in the water like that and all."
Tinybreath smiled in relief, glad to hear that...Fuzzypeach, she believed his name was, hadn't injured himself. She stepped out of the way as the tom climbed out of the water and attempted to dry himself off, and she let out a small snort as some the the shaken water droplets landed on her nose. "Yeah, Chim's my older brother," she confirmed, chuckling a bit at the interesting nickname. She was nearly convinced that no one in the entire forest ever called Chimerastar by his actual, Starclan-given name. "We were born in Waterclan, so swimming and fishing come naturally to us. But it's more of a learned skill, than a hereditary one. Neither of our parents were born in Waterclan, so they had to learn from nothing, just like you or everyone else."

"Well," Fuzzypeach huffed, shaking out his pelt once more before being satisfied that he was now only slightly damp pelt, "you WaterClan folk can keep your water, I ain't much for swimmin'." The tom sounded good-humored as he continued, "besides, I probably don' float much."

"Aww, don't say that," Tinybreath replied with a purr of laughter. "I'm sure I could teach you how to swim if you wanted to learn," She added with a kind smile. "It's like I said, anyone can do it if they put in the effort to learn. And, considering we're probably staying here for a while, it might come in handy."

Fuzzypeach looked at her for a long moment, looking genuinely surprised to hear her offer. "You would teach me to swim?" The large tom looked uncertainly at the water for a few seconds before drawing himself up and nodding, "okay, okay yeah. Swimmin'.... swimmin' sounds good ta me. Is it very hard to learn?"
