Tinykit tumbled out of the nursery as she chased her own tail. The air was cold and she suppressed a shiver. As she rose to her feet, she heard some cats talking as they walked out of the camp. They were apprentices leaving for their training. She won't be an apprentice for a while and it seemed like it would be a lifetime before she can become one. I wish I could go too, she thought. Then an idea struck her. Maybe if she followed them no one would notice? Carefully she looked around and trotted after the last one, trying to look like she belonged with them.
Squirrelleap noticed the little tag along and headed over, “Hey Tinykit,” He meowed, “you want to help me with something, I have a very important task and could use an extra paw,” He meowed dropping his voice and speaking in a hushed tone. Like it was a big secret he needed to keep

Her disappointment about being spotted vanished quickly as Tinykit realized someone, and it wasn't just another kit, it was a warrior who wanted her help! "Really?" she asked excitedly then realizing she had spoken loudly she lowered her voice. "What is it Squirrelleap? I'd love to help you!"
