Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bright, warm sunlight filtered down to the forest floor through the branches of the towering trees above, a brief feeling of comfort in spite of the cold, barren branches that stood between earth and sky. Beneath them, a lone she-cat was cautiously making her way through the woods in an almost bumbling fashion; tripping over roots, logs, and occasionally even her own two paws, not to mention that anytime a bush so much as rustled in the breeze the poor feline would nearly jump out of her pelt. But the most confusing thing of all was the lack of direction the cream long-fur had: despite carrying a decent catch of a small finch, it was hard to tell whether or not she was headed back to Summerclan's camp or not. Just when it looked like she was headed in the right direction, she would stop in confusion before making a dramatic turn going the completely wrong way.
It wasn't exactly hard to tell that poor Largelight was out of her element...being that she had absolutely no experience with the elements themselves. How could she? She was a former kittypet, who had lived her entire kithood and adolescence in the comfort of a twoleg nest, more used to watching the rain and snow than actually being in it. Stubbing her paw for the fifth time while being lost in the woods, the ex-pet let out a squeak as she tripped, and watched as her prey went flying into a pile of dead leaves. Largelight stared at it for a moment before letting out a wail of defeat, dramatically flopping down onto the frozen ground, looking like she was about to cry. "Ooh...this is hopeless! I'm never gonna get this right!"
She had to get out. She was itching for some fresh air away from the nursery with the other gossiping mothers. She asked one of the other queens to watch her kits for just a short time while she went hunting. She had edged near the border, a bit off from camp and she had just caught a thrush before hearing the loud wailing of another cat. Bluebell was immediately on edge, her fur along her spine stiffening and her eyes growing wide as she scanned the area. It sounded not too far off. She held her prey in her mouth and began trying to pinpoint where she could be. Should she even try to find this cat? What if it was an enemy. She couldn't be wounded. She had kits to care for! But she should run it off. She was scared, petrified, but pushed on. What if it was some cat in need of help?
She came upon her and cautiously crept forward. A gust of wind tore through the trees and brought her scent straight to Bluebell. The cat was of SummerClan! Relief flooded the queen as she approached, "Hello?" She called gently, almost too quiet.
"Eep!" Too busy wallowing in self-pity, Largelight hadn't noticed the other she-cat's approach, and promptly jumped in fright at the sudden, whisper-like voice. Turning, it took a moment for her to recognize the scent of one of her brand new clanmates, and though for the life of her she couldn't match a name to the face, she definitely remembered seeing her in camp before. "O-oh! H-Hi there!" The heavy cream warrior stuttered, feeling herself flush in embarrassment under her fur. "I...uh, um..." Uncomfortable with interacting with other cats, she mumbled awkwardly for a few more moments before finally letting out a sigh of defeat, closing her eyes with a cringe. "I'm lost. I can't figure out how to get back to camp, and I've tripped and dropped my prey. Can you pretty please help me?"
Bluebell took in her words. Poor thing. Despite being so new, she had a very keen sense of smell and direction. It was probably due to her being a loner before. No territory was safe and she had to be on high alert at all times. She glanced around, seeing her paw prints and followed them to where she had tripped and where she had flopped onto the ground. It couldn't be far. The she-cat turned back to Largelight and gave her a timid smile, "What had you caught? Are you hurt at all?" Bluebell asked a bit cautiously. She was always extra careful, paranoid of anything and everything.
"I-I'm alright. It-It was probably just a tree root or something." Despite the other she-cat's kind offer of help, Largelight really didn't want to admit that she hadn't tripped on anything except her own paws. After a moment, she slowly rose to her feet, shaking off some spots of dirt that had stuck to her normally flawless cream pelt. "I caught a finch bird," she quickly changed the subject, grinning a bit out of personal pride. It was the biggest thing she had ever managed to catch. Glancing around the area, she padded over to a pile of dead leaves and undergrowth that surrounded a pine tree. "I'm sure it landed somewhere over here..."
