The days dragged on in the city. Even with the buildings blocking the sun, it still felt too bright. To the Nemesis, the morning light filtering through his blinds meant he stayed up throughout the night doing paperwork again. For as many things are hidden in plain sight during the day, he couldn't help but prefer the night. Dark circles had been etched underneath his eyes, now barely visible as he walked through the night time city. It was just as alive as ever, the streets filled with people and the various clubs and establishments blaring music to overwhelm the competition. Smoke and lights hung low in the air, making him fiddle with the lighter in his pants.
Hanging onto one of the railings, he took a few steps down into one of the more popular spots. Well, popular in that it was new. Funk heard it was liked for some costume gimmick they had. Maybe they were dressed like playboy bunnies. Or just in something really skimpy. Perhaps the opposite where it was too formal. Whatever it was, it was maybe a bit too much for a scruffy guy to come in in a two bit suit and a pair of loafers he hadn't taken off for like 3 days. Still, it was fairly contemporary in it's decor. Though as he waited by the bar to be seated? Or get a drink? He couldn't help but recognize a familiar face walking towards him.

He looked great, oh but, boy did he feel stupid. He probably was for taking this job in the first place. First day on the job, and already he wanted to quit. His connections had told him it was a job for pretty people like himself who preferred to work nights rather than days. But this was the furthest thing from his mind when he went job hunting. Now here he was staring himself down in the mirror, his white hair was brushed back messily so that a few strands still fell in his eyes. White collar with a black bow tie but no shirt. His amber eyes glared back at him , clearly unhappy to be shirtless but shining with the oil they strongly insisted on. He wasn't ripped by any means but he wasn't scrawny either. It made no sense to him as to why they hired him when there were others who would better fit this roll but, he had to either play the part or find a new job by morning. It would be easier to just stick it out and go with it. The icing on the cake however was the not slacks slacks that came with the uniform, well at least they let him keep his pants on right?
Putting on his biggest, and hopefully convincing customer service face, he turned on the heels of his brand knew, very shining dress shoes and made his way out of the back room and headed towards the bar. It wasn't extremely busy tonight which was both a blessing and a curse. A blessing for not being packed but, a curse because there was no one around to act as a barrier between him and the man leaning against the bar. Someone he knew. It would be his luck to run into the one person he knew in this area.
"Hey, Funk right?" he greeted once he was close enough to be heard, and too close to just turn and leave.

Now, Funk was familiar enough with the people in this part of the city. Sure, not everyone knew him, but he knew them. And the ones that did greet him fairly warmly. They knew better than to not. Still, he expected to see someone from the League here. These were the kinds of jobs certain people were better suited for. And one of them was certainly not the Moon leader he sold some sleeping drugs to about two months ago. Levee was never around, and he was certainly not like this. Not shirtless with a bow and a pouty face and shirtless. It took everything in Funk's power to not do a spit take. Though not having a drink certainly helped.
"Levee! What a surprise. I-I didn't take you for the kind to work around here." The Nemesis stifled a laugh, sitting down at the bar and obviously letting his gaze crawl over him. Levee wasn't the only one in the same attire, in fact most of the other waiters wore the same thing. Though they seemed to either be mingling with the few other guests or heading back into the back a lot. A faint smile crossed his face as he looked up at the numerous bottles that were behind the bar. "You tend? Can I get a whisky on the rocks?" The Nemesis was certainly humoring him, as it felt more evident how empty the bar was and perhaps how much he stood out. "Relax. I tip well. Long as you do a good job." He added with a wink.
