Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"As the sun begins to rise, single toms will enter into the maze of tunnels near the Janus camp while the single females enter into the tunnels near SunClan's main camp. It is said that if you come across another single cat in the tunnels that you are fated to be together. Couples that meet up in the tunnels spend time getting to know one another, before the mate choosing ceremony at sunset. Single cats that participate in the singles mingle will get 20 points."
Littlestar had not been too fond of this idea, sure, but the SunClan leader was not here. She had left on her honeymoon with Skipstep shortly after the tying of the knot ceremony, leaving Bloodyrondo in charge of SunClan for at least the next few days. This meant that he could bend the rules a little bit, you know, ramp up the stakes. The Romance Festival was a wonderful celebration but it needed some more flare. So, the Priest Promised gathered those who wanted to have a little more fun than the rest of the Clan and put his plan in action. All he had left to do was make the announcement.
"Single toms and she-cats of SunClan, we are about to start a new tradition: The Single's Mingle! Rumor has it that if you come across another cat in the tunnels, you are fated to be together. Today we are going to increase those odds. She-cats will enter here," the ginger tom gestured to a seldom-used cave entrance that had been thoroughly decorated with flowers, "and toms will follow me to a different entrance. We will go into the caves at the same time and let the Sun guide us to our futures."
Bloodyrondo paused and remembered Littlestar's complaints when he first suggested this idea, "But be warned... the tunnels can be dangerous. Place your pawsteps carefully. This trial is not for the feint of heart... only the strongest, most devoted cats should take the risk. For that reason, apprentices and younger are not allowed to participate. Discordantpaw here will be my assistant. She will tell the she-cats when to enter; naturally, I will tell the toms. Are there any questions?" --- OOC: Bloodyrondo hinted at this, but, to be clear, these caves can be very dangerous. This is a branch of the Maze, with many of the same risks outlined on the Clan page. Your cat can get lost for several days, have a spicy romantic moment or both. It's whatever you make it. And an apprentice or younger can sneak in, he didn't think far enough ahead to put guards out...
Jetclaw chuckled. She didn't expect to find romance in these tunnels but she was eager to take on a challenge. "Dangerous you say, wonderful, I embrace the challenge," She purred teeth barred in a grin. Her tail flicked with excitement. She was curious to see what lay within these tunnels, and was as always eager to prove her mettle in competitions... even if this wasn't really a competition.
Duskslayer padded over by Bloodyrondo, during this festival he was usually too focused on getting his parents to get back together to ever think of finding a mate for himself. No one knew it, but he decided this would determine whether he would get a mate or not and maybe even leave SunClan. Maybe if he hadn't known other cultures like DayClan and Renegade Regime he wouldn't see an issue with SunClan, but no other clan ordered that members were essentially owned by the clan and anyone who left was a deserter who deserved to be killed. He was okay with those rules, but he didn't want his future kits or maybe their future kits to be killed by those rules. Thinking long term worried him, but maybe if he could just focus in the moment he wouldn't have to worry.
Nikkohydrangea joined, his claws picking out grime from his paw pad. Really, it wasn't that dirty at all, but ever since moving from frosty snowy grounds to actual ground he was convinced his paws were dirty despite them being perfectly clean to literally everyone else.
Gingerkit was lurking nearby, she wanted to participate! It looked like a lot of fun even if she wasn't sure if this method would actually work. Like her parents just met and fell in love, they didn't meet in a tunnel, but maybe she could find love early so she carefully paced nearby, waiting for the older cats to go inside.
"Whatcha doin?" Radiantpaw whispered poking up beside Gingerkit. The fluffy light ginger she cat looking expectantly at the kit. Just because she was an apprentice didn't mean she should stop making some shenanigans. So she figured she'd go out and make some mischief instead. One last hurrah before having to start play things serious.

Now Moonlitnocturne didn't care for the romance festival. In finding a mate or anything. But he was interested in one thing; getting the hell out of here. Learning to work his way through the tunnels would be a good way to start. And maybe he'd manage to sneak his way out. Who knew. He joined the other toms, giving Bloodyrondo a daring look. Like he was just waiting for him to toss him out.

Honeysplash couldn't resist, seeing Jetclaw getting ready to brave the tunnels. She was one of the few she-cats left in the clan not to fall for his charm. With one last lick to his chest, he padded over his tail held high "HI JETCLAW" he chirped cheerfully "I hope that you and I get to meet in the tunnels" he winked playfully, as he heard a flurry of tiny footsteps approaching the two of them from behind
The tiny footsteps Honeysplash was hearing belong to none other than his daughter Pollenkit, having slipped away from her mother in search of the tom. "Daddy!" She called out as she came within reach, a smile dancing on her face, it faded though when she realized he was talking to someone. The kit looked at Jetclaw curiously, her head tilted slightly and suddenly a strange feeling came over her, one she had not felt before, the white and tortoiseshell dappled she-cats cheeks puffed up and her brown eyes moved between her father and Jetclaw, waiting for someone to answer a question she never asked; what was going on here?

"Oh I'm sure" Honeysplash purred leaning in and licking the she-cat's cheek, ignoring his daughter who was now standing at their paws. "Let the Sun God light up our paths through the darkness so that our flames may unite as one"
As the two spoke to one another, ignoring her presence completely the tiny she-cats cheeks puffed up even more, and watching her father show Jetclaw affection stirred that strange feeling inside her further but this time there was also anger. Pollenkit lifted her head, earth toned eye glowing and pushed herself between them, of course because of her size she was standing between their legs but she didn't stop there, tearing up she put her paws on one of the she-cats foreleg and began to push against it. "Stop that! He's my daddy and you cant have him!" Even though he ignored her and her littermates she loved him, why was he paying attention to Jetclaw and not her.
Bloodyrondo surveyed the gathered group and nodded his head; the turn-out had been just as good as he had anticipated,"Alright, toms, follow me!" He led the group toward the Janus camp, the pathway of which he had decorated in a similar fashion to the she-cat entrance. It was not quite as elaborate, mostly just a few flower petals, but an effort was made. He fell into step next to Honeysplash and tapped him on the shoulder as the cave entrance opened up ahead of them, "Make sure your little ones don't follow you down."
---
Discordantpaw watched the tom group disappear and hummed quietly to pass the time. Bloodyrondo had told her to count to sixty before allowing the she-cats to enter but she couldn't be bothered. It would have been poetic to enter at the same time, of course, but it's not like anyone would be able to know if it happened or not so it seemed like a waste of time. "Go ahead." She said, waving her tail toward the entrance.

Moonlitnocturne felt something twist in him when Honeysplash hit on Jetclaw. It wasn't like he wasn't used to seeing the tom make his way with any she-cat he looked at. Still, did he have to do it now? Just wait until he couldn't see you. The torn part at his ear ran hot, but he chose to simply flick it away. As the toms were called off, he made an effort to not look at them, but still cut him off from doing it again.
Compared to the other's, Moonlit was better suited to make his way through the tunnels. Once his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he made sure to go a separate direction than anyone else. Even if the goal was to find someone, he was more interested in finding the perfect path to get as far away as he could in very little time.

Honeysplash sighed leaning down and picking up the little she-cat by the scruff and carrying her off to the side. Of course she would ruin the moment, but maybe if JetClaw saw him deal with her patiently, he could still save it. She-cats like guys that knew how to deal with kits.... right? "Now Pollenkit, you know full and well that your mother and I are not together" he meowed after setting her down alongside the other little ones. There were still several adult cats in the clearing who had simply brought the kits along so that they could participate in the decorating "Now you need to stay here, I'm going in with the other toms. It is dangerous in there" he kept his voice stern, even though it was hard to take him seriously with his wide baby blue eyes and kit-like face.
----------------- Romancefable took in a deep breath, before plunging into the darkness after Bloodyrondo. He had been searching for his true love for so long, that perhaps this is exactly the push he needed to find the right she-cat. ---------------- Unseenlights felt her way into the tunnels, the unfamilar ground strange under her feet. However, she did have an advantage. Snce she had grown up blind, the darkness of the tunnels did little to affect her judgement and senses. It didn't take her long to out pace the other she-cats. ---------------- Shadowbard slipped into the tunnels, welcoming the darkness like an old friend. A purr rumbled in his throat as he hummed a tune as he walked.
Pollenkit let out a huff as Honeysplash lifted her up and set her down away from the gathered cats, she knew if she wasn't with him then there was no telling what he would do. "Why must you go in the first place? You should just stay here with me." She knew he and Swelteringeclipse weren't together but that wasn't the point, she was still here.
Bloodyrondo watched as the other toms entered the tunnel then gave his chest a few licks before going in himself. He had gone in here a few times when no other cats were present to memorize these particular tunnels, so he knew his way around, and also knew the most direct path toward where the she-cats would be. The Priest Promised didn't consider it cheating. Any other proper SunClan cat would know this tunnel like the back of his paw, right? --- @samiam Discordantpaw watched all the other she-cat's enter the den with a bored expression. She had been told explicitly not to enter the tunnel several times by her older half-brother but it was the same as sitting cake in front of a baby and telling him not to touch it. A lost cause. She looked from side to side to make sure the coast was clear before edging toward the flowery cave entrance. She had a foot in the doorway when she sensed another cat's presence behind her; she turned around and say the fluffy, uppity frame of Satinpaw. Well, that sucked. The leader's daughter had seen Dissy make her move. The best was out of a situation like this was to drag the other cat down with her, literally, "Hey, Satinpaw, I think I saw Buzzingkit go in, will you help me drag her out?"
Jetclaw watched as Pollenkit was taken away by Honeysplash who spoke hushed with his daughter. Shrugging the tan and black she cat made her way into the tunnels where the other she cats had. She didn't put much stock in this being successful, but she was willing to give it a try.

Honeysplash sighed "Im doing my duty to the Sun God Pollenkit, one day you will understand" he put his nose against her head before rising to his paws "but until then you musn't follow"
Satinpaw wrinkled her nose in response glancing towards the tunnels. She was never one who liked to get dirty but could she really deny helping out a poor defenseless kit if they really wandered down into the tunnels? The right answer was No but she really didn't want to. Still she was the high priestess' daughter and to an extent her choices reflected onto Littlestar. Disappointing her mother was not something she was willing to risk. "I suppose so..." she relented moving forward from her place to follow Discordantpaw down into the tunnels.
"Great, I love it." Discordantpaw replied, entering the cave tunnel without looking back to see if Satinpaw was following. She hadn't spent much time with the other she-cat but she seemed to be a little sassy. Discordantpaw liked sass, so she figured she would like her, although it was too early to tell if they would be able to get along, "Have you ever been down here before, Satinpaw?" The mostly black she-cat said as she expertly rounded a corner, her whiskers brushing against the cave walls as she descended into even deeper darkness.
"No, why in the god's name would I come down here?" she asked the other she-cat as she followed the other cat closely, but not close enough that she appeared afraid. The most concerning thing to her right now was whether or not she could help Discordantpaw find Buzzingpaw without looking like a dust mop by the time they resurfaced. It took effort to get her fur looking like it did, effort that would now be wasted within moments down here. She sighed more to herself at the current situation, already starting to regret her good deed for the day.
