Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Stormsurge's kits would be apprenticed during the next ceremony, they were ready. Of course, Polarpaw was already a promising student. Now it was time to talk about her future plans. Another litter perhaps? Her current kits were almost all disappointments, one deaf, one a liar, and a bunch of soft cats who will never make strong soldiers. Stormsurge thought maybe she should try again.
And she was nothing if not loyal, so she intended to have kits again with Basiliskvenom, the father of her current litter. He was of strong WinterClan blood, seemingly compliant, and reasonably handsome. That's what Stormsurge was looking for. So she caught him a squirrel this morning and padded back to camp, setting it at her feet and curling her tail neatly around her paws. The kits were confined to the nursery for the morning and she intended to wait right here until she spotted the tom.
Basiliskvenom stalked back into camp, his thick coat flaked in white and his piercing green eyes narrowed. The large tom had been out all morning patrolling and honestly the rest of his group was about as useful as a lump of crow food so he had split from them to check the borders alone, without a word. He was an unfriendly tom to most, those who showed stupidity and lack of common sense, his only soft spot being for his kits, he loved them dearly despite the issues with the two and showered them with love any chance he got.
As he neared the center of camp his mate caught his eye and he walked over to sit beside her. "You look like your waiting for someone." He mowed, knowing it was probably him but still feeling a tinge of anger and jealousy at the thought of her waiting for someone else.

Stormsurge knew that she was attractive, aware of how her beauty set her apart. Luckily, it usually came in handy when she wanted someone. Today was no different. She purred when Basiliskvenom approached, brushing her shoulder fur against his in a rare show of affection. "Good morning, I was waiting for you. I got you a squirrel for breakfast," she tapped the creature with one paw, looking up at him innocently. She wasn't quite sure what she was after but she knew that she wanted him in a good mood for their conversation.
She also knew he loved their kits and decided to refrain from mentioning the bitter disappointment she felt for them, that would certainly not win her the day.
The large tom smiled at her show of affection and turned his green gaze to the squirrel at her paws, he knew she wasn't always the sweetest or most loving but small things like this always pulled at his heart. "It looks delicious." He glanced at her, and bent forward taking a bite of the creature, as he chewed he nudged it closer to her. "You should have some too." He murmured, swallowing his mouthful.

Stormsurge obliged, willing to be obedient currently. The gray she-cat didn't usually do as suggested, even if it was her mate just wanting to take care of her. They ate silently for a moment before Stormsurge mentioned their children, "so, Polarpaw will probably be made a warrior this moon, and the others will be made apprentices at last...." she fell silent, waiting.
Basiliskvenom purred at the mention of their kits, unaware of the way she felt about most of them as he normally didn't play a huge role in their upbringing aside from visiting and helping with training from time to time. "They are doing quite well, im proud of them for working so hard." He took another bite of the squirrel, chewing and swallowing before looking to his mate. "Whats made you bring the kids up?" He didn't often hear her mention them, so it stirred a bit of curiosity within him that she chose now to talk about them.

Stormsurge stiffened slightly at Basilikvenom's praise of the kits but bit back a stinging retort. She needed to stay calm, she knew he loved those kits and her hopefully not-so-obvious distaste for them would get her nowhere. So, she took another bite of squirrel and made herself look shy. "Well, I know I'm only just returning to warrior duties but..." she looked away, towards the nursery. "I just can't help but want more kits. I mean, our kits are going to be important to WinterClan. They've got strong bloodlines, good parents, they are born strong and brave..."
The toms green eyes lit up a little as she spoke, but he remained calm before getting his hopes up at the thought of having more kits. "Are you not tired of being trapped in the nursery? You dont seem the kind to want to be of commission for long." Of course he would be pleased to have more children, but it was a bit odd for Stormsurge to give up her warrior duties after just returning.

"You have no idea," Stormsurge responded, partly without thinking. "I mean, I love being a warrior, as I'm sure you're aware. It's a position I take seriously and I intend to return fully to it soon. But, it's also a duty to continue the clan and the bloodlines. I also take that very seriously. So, this is my time to give WinterClan full-blooded warriors." Truthfully, she wanted a second chance. But he didn't need to know that. "It's almost newleaf, these new kits would have a much easier time than our first litter. They'll be warmer and more well fed."
He nodded slowly, she was right, with the weather change soon to come it would be the perfect time to introduce new kits to the clan. "Stormsurge, you know I would never deny you, besides I would love to be father again." With her, it was almost a flaw how hard it was to say no, perhaps if he had known her true nature things would be different, but he didn't and so with a wide smile he let the idea of having another litter set in and purred. "They will be amazing, and like the others, a great addition to the clan."

(not always lol, i've just been feeling super motivated)
"Polarblast," she felt a surge of pride using his warrior name, "is a model warrior, all of our other kits have that potential and will have it. I believe we may end up the parents of the future leader." That thought brought out a genuine, true purr from the usually stoic she-cat. "And, we'll get to have another litter to raise together, wouldn't that be nice?" Despite her cold heart and usual disinterest in others, Stormsurge knew a part of her truly cared for her mate. Otherwise she would have dissolved the relationship and moved on.
He would be proud of his kits no matter what, but the thought of one of them becoming leader some day was a nice one. "I would love to raise another litter with you, our kits will be the greatest this clan has seen." He purred, curling his tail around his mate as he spoke. "You've convinced me."

Stormsurge felt momentarily triumphant before it dawned on her that this meant another 6 moons in the nursery with kits. But, if she could raise them all as well as Polarblast, it was worth it. "I'm so glad," she purred, running her tail down his spine. "I know our second litter will be amazing. They'll all be as strong as their father."
He smiled at the compliment and leaned into her side gently, knowing that of all cats he was the one she had chosen to be by her side. "They will also be smart, like their mother, though I believe at time you're stronger than even I am." He said, giving her a playful wink.

She knew she was. Stormsurge was the strongest cat in WinterClan, she knew it for sure. But the she-cat was also the smartest, and she could play the game well. So Stormsurge chuckled and leaned into his side, "they'll be perfect."
[ wanna time skip a bit? to when she finds out she is pregnant? ]
Basiliskvenom stretched as he left the soldiers den, his eyes instinctively traveling camp as they did each morning before he set off to begin his duties. Today was no different than any other but, when he spotted his mate in the distance he let out a purr and padded up to join her, stopping only to grab a bird from the fresh kill pile. "Good morning Stormsurge, care to have breakfast with me?"

Stormsurge was just finishing up with Aurorapaw, having stopped to lecture her on the way to breakfast. Aurorapaw looked annoyed but Stormsurge took no notice, running through various reminders for Aurorapaw that she didn't need. When she noticed Basiliskvenom she dismissed her daughter with a flick of her tail and purred as Basiliskvenom approached, answering his question with an eager nod, "I'd love too." And she meant it. As she joined her mate Stormsurge paused, surprised by her happy mood. That had happened last time, could it be?
"Someone is in a good mood, what were you and Aurorapaw talking about?" His eyes followed their daughter as she walked away, not noticing the annoyed look she had on her face. He set down the bird and nudged it closer to his mate so she could take the first bite.

"Her training," Stormsurge replied, with a slightly annoyed huff, "I'm afraid her mentor may not be up to par. Aurorapaw still has so much to learn." Her words were carefully light, almost genuinely concerned. Her reputation was at stake if her kits didn't measure up. But even that thought couldn't truly taint her light mood, she almost jovially bit into the meal. Stormsurge was not an unhappy cat, but she also didn't exude happiness. But today she seemed more than her usual content.
Her training... who was her mentor again? Why couldn't he remember, it was something he should know. "I'd be more than happy to take her out when she isnt training and help her along." He had given up trying to remember the soldiers name when the idea came to him, he could check her progress and get to spend time with her... it was perfect. Basiliskvenom looked sideways as Stormsurge began to eat, something was off, while he tended to see her in more of a brighter light than others there was still a limit to how openly joyous she was. "How are you feeling today, love?"
