[attr="class","box2"]Lionpride paced back and forth in the den that he once shared with mother. A guard stood watch outside the entrance, preventing from leaving. His tail twitched in irritation, nervous energy practically radiating off of him as he waited on some sign that the love of his life was alright.
The normally passive and easy going tom looked on the verge of ripping into the warrior that stood between him and the rest of camp. His mother had showed up unannounced and demanded that Aconite come with her without any explanation. After everything they had been through, this couldn't be the end. He wouldn't allow it. As the moments ticked by he was becoming more and more agitated, his claws digging into the sandy floor of the den.
It was only his mate's word and condition that kept him from just pushing past the guards and going after her. Aconite was heavily pregnant, and if it came down to a fight between him and all the other warriors his mother commanded he didn't know if he would be able to protect her. If he got himself into trouble, he didn't doubt that she would try to help him and put herself and their unborn kits in danger. She was already struggeling, and the stress of a fight like that might push her over the edge.
She had given up everything to be with him, and he would do the same without so much as a second thought. She was his everything, the reason he got up every morning. Not having her by his side and knowing what was going on was killing him. He slammed his paws into the side of the den, rattling the herb storage and sending a few of the leaves fluttering down to the ground, a deep growl filling the air
"If you break anything in there, you have to replace it," the haggard tom growled irritably as he stalked into the den. Back hunched against the light and tail lashed low to the ground, he looked rather awkward in the enclosed space, but that only made him one spiteful comment away from snapping. His burned lip was already twitching back over his teeth, he was not happy to be in there, but when hadn't he done his job? If he wasn't allowed to be near the leader for this meeting he'd best protect her den so she had a home to come back to. What a useless guard dog he'd become, guarding dens against their inhabitants.
He hovered near the exit, dark eyes narrowed to slits. "You can possibly be that upset she ran off your precious mate," he scoffed, "they've barely been gone. What do you expect, anyway? Do you think they're going to tear each other apart out there? The little bird would've invited me if there was going to be a bloodbath."

[attr="class","box2"]If I break something, then maybe next time she'll think about her actions" he growled in return. Lionpride was normally a rather passive cat, but he wasn't acting like himself. He was becoming aggressive, irritable, and near irrational. Singedwolf had always scared him since he was a kit, which is more than likely why Littlestar had left him as the guard. His tail lashed behind him, golden eyes narrowing errily similar to way his grandfather had once done. A look that had never been seen on the gentle tom's face except when Foxbane had order his mother kill both him and Aconite.
A large foot slammed into the ground, claws digging into the earth "How dare she do this. Aconite is heavily pregnant and weak, she shouldn't be out of her nest" he his paws moving and tearing up the ground under his feet. The way she had stumbled over her own paws should have been enough of an indication.
Lionpride tensed, looking up... debating on if he could shoulder past the older tom without raising the alarm. He knew the moment he made a move, a crowd of SunClan cats would be there to jump him. Then what? Would it force Littlestar into harming Aconite. Forcing his fur to lie flat, he turned back to tearing the dirt under his paws
"I swear she better not do anything to her or our kits" he knew Littlestar loved him, but it was this love that made him suspisious. While he didn't think she would ever do anything to him, it was clear she didn't like Aconite. She had tried to kill herself to protect him, he could only imagine what she would do if she thought Aconite was going to hurt him. Singedwolf dared him to try and escape. It had been too long since he felt skin split beneath his claws. Lionpride might look like his grandfather, but he knew better; he had seen the best and the worst of his leader and this pathetic kit didn't come close to filling the legacy that was left. It didn't matter how big the young cat was, he didn't have the skill or experience to fight him, and if it came down to it the old dog was certain he'd win any confrontations. He licked his lips, anticipating, and was disappointed when the warrior didn't make a move.
"And if she does?" He leaned in, his breath hot and stinking. "What are you going to do about it? You can't bring back the dead, you can't win a fight against your mother, you can't even get through the rest of the clan to touch her. You can't do anything to stop her even if you wanted," he taunted, matter-of-fact, almost smug. Even if he was strong enough to fight Littlebird there was no way Lionpride would make it far enough to attack her; the clan would leap to her defense immediately. If the Priestess wanted, she could kill his mate and get away with it, but he knew she didn't have the guts to go through with it.

[attr="class","box2"]I don't have to fight her" he retorted, as he began pacing back and forth, his tail twitching. "There are other ways to hurt her, far worse than any harm my claws or teeth could ever cause" every time that Singedwolf taunted he was only making it worse. Each moment that ticked by felt like and eternity, thoughts of what he could do to swirling around in his mind.
After all, what was the one thing that Littlestar loved more than anything else? Her children. As her first born son there were ways to get his revenge without ever lifting a claw against her.
Lionpride didn't even want to think about it, but he felt backed into a corner. He snarled, unable to contain all his building rage any longer "Move Singedwolf, this fight doesn't concern you" he took a step forward until he was right in front of the old tom
The space between them collapsed as he moved to meet Lionpride, thrusting his head against the other's and glaring into his eyes, a vicious snarl translating through his burned throat, deep and guttural. His lips were drawn back high and tight beneath his flaring nostrils and his remaining whiskers flared out from his burned skin. "You're not going anywhere," he growled, each word slow and deliberate and filled with malice. He shoved the young warrior back and arched his neck, fur bristling. "Now sit down and wait patiently little kitten, I'd hate for your mate to come back and find-"
"Find what?" The cream she-cat slipped into the den and faced the snarling toms, her eyes narrowing at the pair. She was gone with the Priestess for just a few minutes and they were already at each other's throats? Toms.

[attr="class","box2"]His eyes lit up as Aconite came into view, completly forgetting his argument with Singedwolf only moments before. Ducking under the tom's paw that he had used to shove him backwards, he forced himself forward nuzzling the fur against her neck "Aconite" he murmmered taking in her sweet scent like a cat desperate for air
"It doesn't matter, you are here now. I was so worried" he took a step back letting his eyes roam over her "She didn't hurt you, did she? Are you ok? You should rest" he didn't see anything wrong with her at first glance, but he wouldn't believe it until he heard it from her.
After everything that had happened, he wasn't about to loose her now. [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
Grumbling, he turned to watch the pair unite, thoroughly disappointed to see her returned alive and well. He expected nothing less, but his claws had been itching for an excuse for some violence. "Of course the little bird didn't hurt her," he replied irritably, stalking past them, "I told you as much."
"We were just talking, it was nothing," she promised him with a sigh, cradling the tom close and trying not to show how shaken she'd been. Now that she wasn't facing the leader the adrenaline was wearing off and she remembered just how anxious she had been, and rightfully so. What was she thinking, challenging the leader like that? She leaned into Lionpride and was disappointed when he moved back to look her over. "She doesn't want to hurt me, we were just.... reaching an understanding. She has a little gift for us, you know." Her eyes sparkled. "A nest in the nursery, already made and ready to move in."

Lionpride
SunClan Warrior
The Loveable
Lionpride blinked, his mom had done all of this just to talk with Aconite and get them a present? "If that's all why did she send me to her den?" he moved in pulling her close, until she was pressed tightly up against him. Protectively resting his chin on top of her head, his tail wrapping around her back. He was excited about the nest in the nursery but things were not adding up, but he was already calming down. Havin Aconite around always helped calm him down.
