Yesterday Sean had come in dripping wet, scruffy, and seemed to have a ringing in his ear as he seemed to have a hard time hearing Shule. Anytime Shule had tried to ask him what happened he would continuously get upset and say he handled it on his own, there was no need to talk about it. Comments that he knew would upset her, but he'd rather keep what happened to himself. Okay maybe if his mate wasn't one of the top mercenaries of the Regime he really wouldn't mind saying, but he was pretty certain Shule would murder Funk E'tan if he said that Funk lured him away from the group and then beat and half drowned him until he agreed or rather lied that he would stop mocking Glowstar. Like yeah, that was criminal, but he could tell that Funk loved Glowstar. Funk maybe nemesis, but in that moment he was just trying to be good boyfriend material and defend who he loved. There was no need to kill someone over that. Especially when he was pretty certain that Kotori lied to Funk probably in the hopes that Funk would do more than just attack him, but possibly end his life, however that wasn't what Funk was ever after.
Since Shule had been less than happy about him not telling her what happened to him he decided to bring her back a squirrel to share. Sight see DayClan, maybe spar above ground, that would be cool, and check out the farm, he had never seen one before. Anything to get her mind off of revenge and murder. Maybe he could get her into rock collecting, how hot would that be?

Shule would get to the bottom of this. No matter how much Sean deflected, she would figure out who laid a paw on him, my any means necessary. He'd assumed rightly, that whoever had done this would pay dearly, even potentially with their life. Ever since Foxbane had captured her and stolen her kits, the Sentinel had changed, even in subtle ways. Anyone who would hurt her family would face her for it. As dutiful as she was, she was quite sick of those who thought they could just mess with those she cared about and get away with it. Even more so now that they were staying in DayClan following the flooding, her attitude had begun to shift. The ebony she-cat was slowly seeming to care less about her duties, as much as Gossamer seemed to get under her skin, and was more focused on keeping her family safe, of moving forward in the Regime by creating new things to last the ages. Screw creatures, cats, or even natural forces that put things that meant something to her at risk.
Today, that was a mystery face, though by the end of the day, she'd determined she'd have her answer. If he wouldn't tell her, maybe Glowstar would. Of course, she didn't have the time to immediately do that, seeing as her mate was trotting over with some prey. Her brows rose ever so slightly, but at least for this moment she didn't protest.
"Hey killer," Sean purred when he placed the squirrel down in front of her. He walked behind her, his tail danced lightly across her back sending chills down her spine, "Heh, you have got quite the expression, diamond paws" He smirked before seating himself next to her, his head rubbing into her, "Loooove meee again. It's not my fault you know how to literally remove a cats head from their neck, I don't want you killing any kitty cat when I was in the wrong. I mean, reverse situations, if it was you who came back home hurt, I would lose it, but," He said as his paw touched Shule's cheek lightly, "I trust you more than anyone in my entire life and if you said that the sky was purple I'd believe it. So if you said you were okay, I'd have to believe that," He said, removing his paw and licking her on the cheek, "Unless I saw that it was bothering you long term or something insane. Now, please don't put poppyseeds in my food so I'm too tired to move and throw out my rock collection until I talk cause that was the kind of look you had," Sean laughed, trying to smile slyly although really it was more a half sheepish expression because he really wouldn't put it past her.
(2 things, one, I just imagine with Foxstar, Sean was like, "Don't worry Shule, I'll get revenge later for you knowing she was behind your disappearance, let's just focus on bringing the kits back home." And then him wincing at her attacking Foxstar like, "oh, okay... Nope, wouldn't have thought of doing that. Owch, that's gotta hurt! Okay, you have this handled!" And then I think it would be funny if Shule does confront Glow and Glow's just like, "Pft, I ain't afraid of you." And Shule just starts dragging her and she just starts screaming for someone to save her LOL. Sean's attracted to Shule's authority and powerful capability to take command of any situation, while Glow is just terrified of it xD)

Despite the fact that she was indeed a killer, Shule didn't look particularly impressed by his choice of words. "Sean, you could be two heartbeats from death and you'd insist everything was fine, no matter how much you were bothered. I do love you, with all my heart." Despite the words that were meant to be comforting, they came out almost dangerous, her body relaxed ever so slightly at his touch after a few longs moments. Raising a pristine white paw to rub against her face in frustration. "Why can't you just tell me? I'm going to find out, one way or other. And if you don't tell me, I'll find someone who will." She wouldn't do that to him, ruin his rock collection. She really wanted to know, but that would be her absolute last resort, if it ever came to it. Chances are, she'd find someone who'd spill it quicker.
He turned on his best girly voice, "Because like, if I told you, you'd get all mad and kill Steve and if you kill Steve you're gonna make Jessica super sad and like," He dropped his mocking voice, "I don't want to make Jessica sad," He said more seriously.
"Hey guys," Glowstar said, almost appearing there in the midst of their conversation, "Shule, I was wondering if we could catch up, talk about the kiddos."
"Glow, do you ever think if you step into an fire you'd stop being an eyesore cause you can actually call yourself hot?"
"Wha?" Glowstar began, but couldn't continue before laughing met with Sean's laughter, "Where the heck do you even come up with this stuff, you didn't even see me walk over to prepare for that? Do you just come up with this while lying in bed awake, like, mmm, rocks, hamsters, oh y'know what would be a good insult for Glow, this, I better remember that one?"
"I don't even know, your face is so inspirational," Sean snickered, "But seriously, I'm trying to have a moment with the love of my life, which hopefully includes a stroll through your butterfly garden."
"We- It's leafbare..."
"Does DayClan have to be that poor?" Sean asked in exasperation, before waving his paw at Glowstar to shoo, "Anyways, that's fine, we can still explore the farm. It'll be great, we can kick apples at things, we can both see what a chicken looks like together, I bet whatever a chicken is it's a super romantic animal, it'll be an amazing day!"

Now, that answer was just a little bit too close to home for Shule to ignore. Even with the rather grating girly impersonation. She watched Sean for a good long moment before Glowstar showed up, and it sort of clicked in her mind. Her eyes, of course, gave it away, as they quickly flitted between the two bantering siblings, before finally settling on the DayClan leader. He was talking about Glowstar, right? He had to be. But why would he be so worried about how the life or death of whatever cat had hurt him affected her? There was more to it, but unfortunately, he wasn't giving her even an inch, so she would have to resort to other measures.
"Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I think you're right Glowstar, we need to talk." Of course, she wasn't talking about the kids, and Shule immediately rose to her paws, expression suddenly very, very serious. "I know you know something about what happened to Sean, what is it?" That was Shule's way, straight to the point without much fluff in between. She'd told Sean she would get to the bottom of it, and she intended to.
"GLOW, you don't have to tell her, right?" He asked in a bit of a shaky voice.
"I want to say I know what happened to him, but honestly it's a mystery," Glowstar shrugged, "Like, maybe he was dropped on his head, mommy didn't hold him enough, daddy didn't come home. I don't think we'll ever know what happened to Sean for him to turn out the way he has."
"Y'know on second thought, I'm not that opposed to whatever you're up to Shule," Sean mumbled.
"Why are you concerned your husbands genes will spread to your kits? I mean, sometimes I see it come out in Cinnamon and worry and a little in Dusky, but I think they're okay," Glowstar continued.

Shule's crystalline gaze hardened in an instant, and suddenly it was like moons ago, when she'd come demanding her kits. The Superior wasn't playing around. She had accepted that Cinnamonsavage and Duskslayer didn't see her as a parent, and maybe even considered Glowstar had been good for them. But then she looked at how hurt Kaisra had been when Glowstar didn't support her, and now this comment about 'concerning' genes. Did she have no decency or limit to what she would do? She claimed to love the kits like her own, and yet, Shule never once heard her say anything like this about or to Senescence, or Lucistic, or even Fia Cendrillon. Maybe she wasn't around enough, that was fair, but even so, she wasn't just about to lie down and take these insults. Sean might play them off, even if it hurt, but Shule wouldn't.
"That wasn't what I meant, Glowstar." Her voice was low and dark as she took a step forward, claws extending, "And how dare you take that as an excuse to insult my mate and kits. Now, I will ask one more time, what happened to Sean yesterday."
"Hey, you're the one that's reacting negatively to me saying they have Sean's genes," Glowstar pointed out, "And I really don't know? But I do know at the start he was hanging out with Commander Alessandra Gossamer. We're best friends now so now it goes like, Foxbane, bestest friend, Summersolstice, bestes friend, and then Gossamer is my best friend. So there's like a totem, of course there's an entirely different one for the guys."
Sean nodded along with the way she explained friends, it made sense. Deal was definitely his bestest friend.

Ah, yes, because adding 'and worry' to seeing a little bit of Sean in a kit totally didn't imply insults. Well, Shule was very quickly getting fed up with the non-answer, but also began to realize there was a sort of crowd forming. Because DayClan and any other Regime cats in the current vicinity obviously had nothing better to do than watch this go down. In a heartbeat, she lunged, grabbing Glowstar's scruff in her jaws, and beginning to drag her towards the entrance. "Who hurt Sean, Green?" She demanded, her voice an ever so slightly muffled hiss as she headed out of camp. Glowstar had three options. Fight, tell her what she wanted to know, or get dragged who knew where for Shule to make her tell, one way or other.
Glowstar winced, but instead felt herself being dragged and opened her eyes again, well this sucked. Shule was the type to not let go no matter how much she squirmed, she would have to straight up attack her to make her release her and she wasn't going to do that in front of the Regime cats. Okay, this was fine, Shule wasn't that intimidating and if she was she would just drag her out somewhere secluded. She could use her adrenaline booster, get a shot of speed and outrun/ hide from her. This could work out well enough, although she would have to change her name, her pelt color, move to a different clan. Maybe she would bring EarthClan back from the dead, no one ever looked there. Oh God, how long had she been daydreaming? She glanced around, they were so far, she was such a speed walker!
"Okay okay, it was um. This isn't easy to say," Glowstar scanned her mind trying to think of someone who wasn't Lioningsnarl, he just had such a cool name, it automatically came to her brain first. Who was someone she didn't like? Or could handle their own or someone Shule wouldn't dream of attacking who wasn't her own child. "Snowy. Yup, it was his hamster. He saw her sink into the water, went in to save her, but the water kept making him hit rocks, but y'know, he saved his hamster. That's what he tells me at least."
"What kind of idiot do you take me for? If that were the case, I'd know." Shule growled lowly. "Now, if you could stop lying to me... WHO. HURT. SEAN?" The Superior stated once again. If Glowstar didn't start talking soon, there was a decently high chance she'd either end up dead, or Shule would scare someone into revealing something that Green actually feared, and then use that against her. How hard would that be? Well, Shule vaguely recalled a festival Senescence had organized a while ago, something about ferrets. Maybe that would help. Didn't hurt to try.
Glowstar winced at the aggressiveness of her tone, she was happy she didn't have to look at Shule in that moment, but it only escalated from here. She squirmed a little, the scruff of her fur was beginning to feel sore and she had been dragged on about everything this terrain had to offer, which wasn't fun since most of the ground was cold and muddy from the rain that came with the flood. She was going to die a horrible death if she swiped at Shule to make her release her though so this was just going to have to do. However she felt pretty certain that Shule was dragging her to a cliff and she was going to have to choose which she feared more. However she chose rather quickly that a cliff was an immediate death and she had already decided she didn't want to die an immediate death a long time ago so she intentionally let out a hiss in warning before swiping near Shule's eye with a sheathed paw before unsheathing and knocking her claws into her chest making her release her. Now they could try and talk this out and-
Glowstar took one look into Shule's soulless eyes and just turned tail and ran in the other direction for her life, "STARCLAN I WILL SWITCH RELIGIONS IF YOU SAVE ME!" She cried. Never had she felt more like a kit in this moment, it felt like a monster was chasing her and was going to eat her alive and that was probably very accurate. There were few people that made her feel so desperate and afraid and Shule was probably the only person that had that affect on her.

( ;__; i'm here )
Funk wouldn't have wondered if he was some saving grace from Starclan. Sure, they sent that sign. But he still wasn't entirely convinced it wasn't aliens. And his skies were ruled by the Sun God or whatever. Still, it wasn't strange to see the bengal Nemesis walking through Dayclan's territory.
It had only been a few days? since the Novaclan flood and Glow and he started dating. Their routine had consisted of Glowstar staying overnight at the League before leaving in the morning. It was nice, it made sleeping easier. Though a part of him felt a boyfriend obligation (tm) or something that he should make some effort. So today, he rushed through orders, grabbed a gardenia that took him forever to grow but it was worth it for her, and made the journey to Dayclan. Though he wasn't that far into it when his ears swiveled and he heard someone rushing towards him.
Course, most Dayclan warriors knew him, though he still naturally stiffened into a kinda defensive stance. He dropped it when he recognized the figure of his girlfriend and quickly rushed over to her. "Hey. Hey! What's wrong?" It didn't take him much effort to catch up to her though he didn't block her path. He was a better runner. Concern etched itself into his features.
“Shule’s chasing… Me. Save yourself,” She coughed before giving up after running about a meadows length of land and fell over. “I’d rather die by her claws than keep running, it’s cool,” She coughed more, running was definitely not her thing. “But you need to get out, she’s after you for whatever happened to Sean that night you two met up in the flood.”
Glowstar lied her chin down, “But really, ditching me is totally acceptable, getting beaten down by a cat with awesome skill is honestly a pleasure to experience. You run along now and find DayClan’s secret service.”
Post by strawberrycupid on Jan 31, 2020 23:30:10 GMT -5
Funk dropped the gardenia next to her as she collapsed, confusion painting his face. "What?! Who even is that?!" She knew Sean? And was after him for some reason? But why. He didn't even scar Sean. Or take a limb. Or anything they normally did. Still. He could have. He should have. Should have ran, should have hid, should have found the secret service somehow. He wanted to. If Glowstar was afraid of this person, he stood no chance. But...
"I can't do that though. We finally get together after all this time and I'm not letting some Regime cat kill you." Funk couldn't. It was against every instinct he had, every motion he was used to. But... there was no way he could abandon her. The Nemesis pressed his nose against her, trying to nose her up like she was a kit. "I'm not supposed to be shy anymore remember? And I don't wanna lose you. So come on. Let's go back to the League, it'll be safer there. So please get up." He didn't wanna sound choked up, or emotional. Funk didn't really; his tone was too monotonous but there was a bit of desperation there that wasn't suppressed.
"Sean's mate is Shule, she's among the longest serving sentinels and is now the mercenary superior," Glowstar explained, her gaze looked a little lost for a moment, man she really couldn't run, she felt death upon her. "No Funk, you've only been committed to me for like, two days. It's too early in the relationship for you to- Actually I only dated Deal for like a total of two days and he gave me his life so I guess it's not too soon. But it's fine, if she tries to kill me I'll use my last resort," She said, tapping at her front paw and lying her chin down. Her ears flattened hearing Funk encouraging her to get up. She'd rather die by Shule than walk another inch, but she couldn't resist those eyes and pulled herself up to her paws, "Okay, but get ready to fight and fight with everything you've got, she's not like clan cats, she fights to kill and all her life has only trained to kill, nothing else."
Glowstar looked to where she had last seen Shule, "Walk carefully and look from all angles, even down, there are tunnels she can emerge from."
Post by strawberrycupid on Feb 2, 2020 18:57:33 GMT -5
"He has a mate?!" Sure, Funk fell asleep during Eerie 101 but he didn't think Sean had a mate. Okay, well, he was pretty. But a mate that even Glowstar was afraid of?? "Two days is more than most cats give me! I tend to chase them away after one! That makes you like twice as special." While Funk's tone was frantic, there was a sense of humor in it. The situation was almost comical, it was the only way he wanted to deal with the situation.
"I mean, I guess I can give you a life and run but..." Funk started, but stopped as Glow stood up. Staying right by her side to support her, he listened with rapt attention. What was it with the regime? They either taught their kits to dance around the idea of death or to go straight to the throat. And they don't see how similar those latter are to the League? Still, they needed to make up their mind. He couldn't tell her to run, she proved that enough. But the idea of her getting hurt even more because of him stabbed at him. He could give her a life, but he didn't want her to go through that for him. "I hurt Sean, okay. So give me your worst." Funk wouldn't win this fight, but hell he was gonna fight with everything he had.
Though Glowstar was right, she could easily slip into tunnels and pop up anywhere, Shule wasn't that sort of she-cat. She was straight forward, and though she wasn't surprised by Glowstar's escape, it was effective enough all the same as she watched the she-cat flee in terror. If she weren't so absolutely enraged, she probably would have found the sight amusing. Even so, she knew Green couldn't run for long. Which was probably the only reason she didn't go charging after immediately. She allowed herself two deep breaths, a moment to focus her mind and intentions, and then she set off at an easy run. The Superior had grown to like running. It was a good way to think while moving, and she didn't regret instilling it as a core part of the Mercenary's training regimen.
She would make Glowstar tell her who'd hurt Sean. And whoever had done so would have hell to pay. They had better hope they had the extra lives to spare, because she couldn't promise she wouldn't immediately go for the throat.
Honestly, when she arrived, she hadn't expected to see the League nemesis. Even less than that, she hadn't expected him to admit it outright. It was admirable, if incredibly stupid. Though it did click in her mind what Sean's analogy had meant. Green cared about this cat. Well, she couldn't be surprised that the DayClan cat had fallen in with a cat like him for one reason or other. After all, she was also friends with Foxbane, the other leader who'd incurred Shule's wrath.
"I hope his pain was worth your life." The ebony she-cat moved from standstill with the power and speed of the killing machine she was. Though not as tall as her mate, Shule had hard packed rippling muscles beneath a sleek coat that shimmered with an almost unearthly gleam from her time in the tunnels. Her eyes weren't like a normal League cat's. They weren't full of glee or the thrill of fighting, rather, they were hard and cold like crystal. When it came to her family and home, she was a merciless force, a creature that would either kill, or be killed. There was no frill or playfulness with it, she went straight for the throat. It was predictable, and she knew it, but even if it didn't connect, once they were in close quarters, he was hers. After all, the Regime had been taught to fight primarily in tunnels, where there was often little room between allies and opponents alike.

"Shoulda drowned him when I had the chance." For as much as Funk appeared loose and confident, he was anything but. He wasn't much of a fighter, everyone knew that. It was why Elyon followed him with rapt attention. Probably why all his proxies could throw a punch better than he could. He couldn't figure out if he was grateful or not no one followed him today. Still, he couldn't lie down and take the L. If his first life was going to be used up here, he has to go down fighting. For his pride.
He watched enough fights to at least react somewhat appropriately. He almost managed to dodge to the side, perhaps give him more time to react or think through something. But he was tackled in the side, Shule too quick. Funk kicked off with his feet, sending the pair tumbling. His legs more flailed than anything. claws raking across any part of Shule he could feel or the ground around them. For as much as he appeared to be trying to push her away, he was biting into something. Funk couldn't feel what, adrenaline was beginning to take him over. The taste of fur and blood doesn't even phase him.
