Destiny waited patiently for her apprentice to awaken just outside the camp. The senior warrior enjoyed waking with the sun and taking this time to take in the world and just breathe. The older she got, the more the she-cat realized that sometimes you just needed to stop and take in your surroundings. For many seasons she had been haunted but now her body and mind sat in a place of comfort and peace, a status the ex-league cat never expected to achieve in her lifetime. Lionesspaw was one of many apprentices in her long life span, but the first since she became a senior warrior and since she had truly achieved peace within herself so she knew this would be a special apprenticeship for her.

"Are you ready to start your training?" She greeted the apprentice, running a paw over the areas where he fur once was but the scars cut so deep through her flesh that it could no longer grow back. It used to be sensitive when she was young but that changed as she grew older.

"Basic self defense. Now that Leaf bare is here, cats and clans are desperate for prey. I want to make sure you know how to defend yourself." The black she-cat was also just very paranoid about making sure her clanmates were well protected from harm.

"Come, we will be in the training clearing today. It doesn't have that name for show after all." She doubted any of the other mentors would be there today as many were going out hunting but Destiny was unsettled about the entire Sunclan situation recently.

Once they arrived, Destiny stood before her apprentice and simply stated, "Attack me." There was no better way to learn fighting than to do fighting and Lionesspaw seemed to be a smart apprentice.

Destiny stepped aside and tripped her apprentice easily. "That was a good effort, but your tactic was obvious. Try again." It didn't help that she had been trained by one of the most brutal cats to ever walk on earth and was such an experienced warrior.

Destiny quickly sprung up and rolled away from the apprentice. "I am small and much faster than you. Try again." She eyed the apprentice. It would take her time to realize what her own strengths were and Destiny had learned hers.

Destiny tried to duck away and Lionesspaw managed to swipe the side as she prioritized protecting her eyes just as she would in battle. Her paw darted out and pulled her front legs out from under her. "Better. Keep going." She praised the apprentice.
[*I nodded my head and then decided to try something. I rolled onto my back and began to go around in circles creating some dust. I rolled my way over to my mentor and tried to kick her legs from underneath her, as the area was up in dust.*]

As her apprentice began to kick up dust, it clouded her eyes and she had to blink to try and keep them free. Her apprentice was successful in pulling out one of her legs, greatly unbalancing the older she-cat and she let out a yowl of surprise.
