Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Daria flexed her muscles before ducking back into the tunnels. She had grown used to time above the ground from her days as a hunter. It felt only natural, then, that she should continue at least wandering about the surface. Of course, she was technically supposed to have a mercenary with her, but she quickly said that such a requirement was unneccessary once she was promoted to spy. After all, how was she supposed to be a spy if she had a body guard? Not that she really knew what it meant to be a spy; she wasn't even really sure how she got the role. Perhaps it was simply because Gossamer Alessandra thought that she had the potential to be a loyalist to whatever rocky foundation the Commander had. It was important to establish allies in all of the right places, so the tabby assumed she was just lucky.
Her eyes blinked a few times as she slid into the relative darkness of the tunnels. The air was colder as soon as she bowed into the ground. Why had her ancestors done this? She blinked at the thought, before a panicked look fell into her eyes.
She was supposed to be meeting Brilliance for a post-promotion... was it a training? She wasn't entirely sure, only that Mysterium had told her the night before to meet the other spy, which she had promptly forgotten after falling asleep.
Dammit, dammit, dammit.
With that, she found herself speeding to where she was sure that the other spy was unhappily waiting...

(i'm here and was definitely not distracted by human rp)
Brilliance wasn't quite sure she was a spy either. It was a good opportunity to keep learning and growing, but it didn't take a genius to realize the siamese was only loyal to herself and her goals. She left the League easily when a new offer came up, and would probably just as easily. But she hadn't bailed when Raijin was kicked out by Gossamer Alessandra, so maybe that was good enough. Or no one else wanted to become a spy. Either was fine.
Mysterium had told her she would train a new spy named Daria. All well and good, but she's been sitting in Headquarters for a while now with no sign of the other she-cat showing. Was it training? It might have just been a 'show her the ropes' kind of deal as Brilliance was one who always took to the rules and stuff. Living in the Regime was interesting, though a part of her missed the open sky above her.

"Sorry I'm late, traffic was bad," she meowed sheepishly as she walked towards the she-cat. She looked out of breath and flustered, both of which suggested that this wasn't necessarily her favorite moment of her life. For as hard as Daria worked, it seemed like most of her moments were like this, breathless, lost in translation. Oh well, perhaps the promotion - was it a promotion - would help her deal with some of these things. She could only hope.
"You're Brilliance, right? It's a pleasure to meet you," she then meowed with a curt dip of her head. "How long have you been a spy?" It was kind of awkward and felt like she was just trying to make small talk, but the information would be good. Before her promotion, the scout hadn't paid much attention to the higher ranks, and the spies were of the most hidden away.

Brilliance was more glad she showed up at all, just so she could stop this itching in her paws. Standing and stretching, it almost felt like being free again. Long spider like limbs held her high, but she offered the new spy a warm smile. It was nice to not be the newest spy now. Not that she couldn't relate, but a situation like this always made her want to grow out of it quicker.
"Yes, that's me. It's nice to meet you Daria." The siamese purred, already ready to leave these tunnels but stopping herself. "I was made spy... say a moon or two before Gossamer Alessandra became Commander so not too long either. But I trained to become an Internal Affairs hunter since I was young so this isn't much new." She explained. Information left her easily, but she couldn't blame her for wanting to know.

She smiled at the other cat, although it was still a bit of an embarrassed smile. It would probably take her a while to shake the fact that she'd been late; it was hard for her to bounce back whenever she showed any type of imperfection. It had always been this way. She had been a forgetful kitten, and the shame and need to overcome had followed her like an angry shadow her whole life. Come on, Daria, she thought to herself, before shrugging. Get it together.
"That's comforting, at least, to know I'm not the only one that's relatively new. The other spies? A little bit intimidating to me," she meowed with a half-laugh. "Or, at least, Xuxa does. Not so sure about Coriander, but I haven't talked to him much. Xuxa, though..." She shuddered, before she realized maybe she shouldn't be talking about the shec-at in case Brilliance was her best friend or something. Oops. She then tilted her head slightly. "Internal Affairs, that's Primal Instinct, right?" she then asked, as she turned towards the entrance of the tunnel. "What brought you to the Regime, if I'm allowed to ask? If I'm not, well, you can tell me to shut up and I will."

Brilliance could agree with that. When Xuxa heard she was Primal Instinct, she pretty much shut down from her. While the siamese didn't need to know, it made learning the tunnels a lot harder. She ended up running around with scouts to learn them. Everything above ground was easier than below, especially when she kept bumping her head.
She didn't mind the sudden closeness and gave a chuckle, "No it's fine. The other spies don't really talk to me once finding out I'm formerly from Primal Instinct so this is a welcome change." Her ears flicked around, just to make sure she wasn't being listened to. A habit she developed at the League. "It could be a long story, but I'll say that I joined the Regime because I wanted to become stronger than I was in the League." Her face and tone were suddenly serious. It wasn't the entire truth, but it was good enough. The league was known for their bloody strength, that wasn't what she sought though.

Daria nodded slowly. She could understand why the other spies might treat her differently because of the particular stereotypes that were associated with Primal Instinct. They were a tough group, but Brilliance seemed nice enough. She was willing to be open, too, which meant maybe there would be room to trust her. Daria was going to try, especially if the other spies would't. She gave her a smile, before speaking again. "I hope you found what you were looking for here," she meowed after a moment with a nod. "It's probably simple here compared to there, but the Regime? They're good people, even Xuxa."

Brilliance nodded, rubbing the side of her face slightly. She wondered if she really did. She definitely had learned different things while she was here compared to the League. But also wasn't sure if some of it was worth it. Feeling herself stagnate, getting to train Daria was a good opportunity for her to put everything together and reiterate everything. "They are. It's a lot different but also somewhat the same as the League. You'd be surprised." Brilliance figured the word she would use was 'obviously rigid' here while the League was 'vaguely rigid if you asked them to be rigid'.
(it's okay. mine have been really short too oops)

"Oh? I wouldn't have expected that at all," she sounded interested at the idea that the revolutionary groups were anything similar to each other. She had grown up being taught that Primal Instinct was a band of baddies who would kill you in your sleep. How similar could they be to the Regime, unless the stereotypes were just stereotypes? She blinked. Were her preconcieved notions wrong? And if so, who was she to blame? Probably Daley. She blinked at the thought, before sighing. "What's on the itinerary for today? We can keep talking, I don't want us to feel like we have to stop, but I'm a little bit anxious to learn exactly what I'm supposed to be doing now that I'm not just... hunting all the time," she mewed with an awkward laugh.

Well, if them having vaguely similar structures made them similar, Brilliance could have figured all the clans were similar to each other. It really came to mentality. Her old position as Internal Affairs and becoming a Spy were shockingly similar roles. And it's not like the League tried to better their reputation. It was one of the reasons she left. Her name couldn't be dragged through the mud by them, no matter how much she owed them. She shook her head, the thoughts leaving her for now. "Spies... well, spy on other groups and gather secret info for the Regime. We also weed out those that aren't loyal to the Regime. It's a lot of people watching." And eventually, the lives here will become like a boring soap opera. She could give that to the League, there was much more interesting gossip.
