Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
SummerClan is going to need a new leader, and we decided tryouts were the way to find them! Apply below to lead this wonderful clan c:
Notes: - Everyone can try out for these positions - even if they're already staff of another clan! (If you get the position, you have to step down from the other clan.) This is a special exception to our regular rules so you should take advantage of the opportunity! - If chosen as leader, you are required to make deputy tryouts (or choose a deputy) within a week of being given the position. - Your answer to the optional question will not affect your chances of being chosen as leader! We just want to know if you're planning small changes, big ones, or none at all c: - These end next week (the 20th) assuming we get tryouts

Character Name + Biography: Do you currently hold a position on Classic?: (Optional) Are you planning on changing the clan?:
Gardeniacrown {Star} - What do you get when you mix a hopeless romantic with daddy issues? It’s hard to say where it all started. Gardenia was born to a loving mother. One that dotes over her daughter with the utmost attention. Even her siblings received an enormous amount of support from their mother. Her mother fell in love with a rogue tom named Shen. He was rough on the edges, and not the nicest. Yet, Roseglimmer loved him dearly. When she had their first litter, he wasn’t the best of dads. The siblings, Lavenderblood and Alyssumtooth got to witness him verbally abusing their mother. Even more so when she ended up pregnant with their second litter. When the four, Clovertail, Gardeniacrown, Yarrowshine, and Irisfang were born, he disappeared. The older brothers, Lavenderblood and Alyssumtooth had decided they didn’t wish to tell their younger siblings just how terrible Shen had treated Roseglimmer. Which left Gardeniacrown growing up believing that her father was some amazing cat. Roseglimmer chose to not speak of him, and decided that her new litter wouldn’t even know his name. Gardeniacrown dreamed of one day finding her father and having a happy reunion. Without the guidance of him, she became sassy and a paw full. As she grew older she seemed to become a hopeless romantic, and her sassy side had faded. She became a rather sweet feline, caring, kind, loyal. Yet she was a bit naive. Falling easily for the wrong type of cats, and eventually she has litters with father’s not present, or simply just not wishing to be with her. She’s clingy, and anxious when it comes to love. Truly thinking she’ll never find the right one. Despite all this, she’s an outstanding warrior and her pure devotion has shone through immensely. Positions: Only mca of SummerClan and RR Raiser Superior (rp position) I understand I would have two positions within the clan if I got this. If it proves to be a problem I can always speak to White and figure things out c: Changes: No changes will be coming along. I’d like to keep the traditional feel of SummerClan. I would also like to explore the traditions that have been created and truly follow through with them. I have a few plots in mind that I would love to pull through with. I hope, that with this chance if I get it, that I’ll be able to make it as fun and active as I made WaterClan! I truly enjoyed my last leadership and hope to continue on the fun through SummerClan!
Name: Lemonspeckle Bio: “The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all”. Lemonspeckle, though young, has gone through much in his life. The warrior, while large in stature, is as gentle as a cool summer breeze. His pelt is the palest of creams, soft and long, striped with tabby markings that can barely be distinguished from the rest of his fur. His eyes are a golden honey, the calm amidst even the wildest of storms. Lemonspeckle was born in SummerClan, though that is where his happiness ended for a while. His father was an unnamed tom from WinterClan, his mother unwilling and perhaps terrified to reveal this secret to anyone in her clan. One night, in a peaceful calm, his father came for him and his siblings, dragging the then Lemonkit away from his home. His mother followed, feigning allegiance, and then fought the tom tooth and claw to win back her children. She was not as lucky as Lemonspeckle to live and see another day. Lemonspeckle and his siblings were held as prisoners by their father in WinterClan; he trained them unmercifully, pitting them against each other until they were near bleeding to death or unable to breathe. This went on until Lemonspeckle and his sister, Mintleaf, were the only two left that hadn’t died from being weak and the cold. At eight moons old, they killed their father in secret. His body was never recovered, nor did the apprentices admit to knowing anything about their father’s death. Lemonspeckle could not handle the terrible memories of WinterClan and found his way home to SummerClan, though his sister stayed behind, stronger than he against the cold and darkness. Despite all that he went through, Lemonspeckle is gentle, kind, and has the biggest, softest heart that you could find in the forest. He is anxiety ridden and has a nervous stomach, although he tries to not let it get the best of him. Though his clan knows him as one that would never harm a fly, Lemonspeckle was trained to be a ferocious beast, and it can be seen when he is protecting his clan and his loved ones from any cat that may try to do him harm. A gentle giant, a giver, a lover. You’ll never find a better treasure than dear Lemonspeckle.
Position: No
Changes: I won't change much, but I may add some fun little quirks for the clan.
Bio: A warrior name that truly speaks for itself. A slender and scraggly light-brown tabby with a snaggletooth as well as a single, shifty yellow-green eye, Rateye’s just as untrustworthy as his name suggests. Not that he even tries to hide it. He’s as cunning and sly as a rat; prone to relying on his quick-wit and smooth charm to get him out of tight situations, and when those fail, the light-footed tom uses his sharp reflexes to make up for his lack of muscle for a speedy escape. Rateye doesn’t have any family or tragic backstory to speak of, which isn’t that uncommon among most rouges where he’s from; once you can eat meat by yourself, you have to feed yourself. No freeloading off your ma and pa. For as long as he can remember, Rateye could only rely on himself for survival, which makes the community aspect of clan life the most uncomfortable for him. Not that he isn’t appreciative, but it’s so against everything he’s ever been taught, learning the warrior code is akin to learning a new language for him. Which begs the question of why someone like him bothered joining a clan, let alone become its leader. The answer is simpler than you’d think: he has absolutely no clue. Not keen on fighting for obvious reasons, with competition for food in the twolegplace becoming more and more vicious, Rateye knew he didn’t stand a chance at surviving the next leaf-bare on his own. While he’s normally pretty good at keeping a cool head, if a situation starts turning sour Rateye’s surprisingly quick to panic, which always puts him at a disadvantage. Though he had heard stories of the communities of wild cats living near the mountains, the tales of nine-lives and starry ghosts seemed too fantastical to be real...until he actually started dreaming about them himself. Apparently, his grandpa, grandma, or someone in his ancestry had been a warrior once upon a time, and now that forgotten history had come to bite him in the butt. After about a week of restless sleep, a small group of those wild cats tracked him down, declaring some baloney about how Starclan had chosen Rateye to lead Summerclan. Well, who was he to pass up an opportunity like that? Sure their ‘rules’ and whatnot are kinda annoying, but although he’d never admit it out loud, he thinks they're a pretty good crowd, all things considered. Rateye wouldn’t consider it home just yet, but it’s pretty nice.
Position: Got nothin' fam.
Changes: I'd like to expand the beach area slightly, or at least make it a more prominent location in Summerclan's territory to accommodate the strong Waterclan presence in Summerclan. I'd also like to give the layout a Lil' spruce-up that more represents a Summery aesthetic. - I have a few other ideas that I'd be interested in trying out to help improve both Summerclan's activity and individual presence as a clan, but other than the first two points, any other ideas would be strictly run by both the staff, and the Summerclan members themselves before even attempting to implement them. Either way, I would like to keep Summerclan largely traditional overall.
EDIT: Expanded on changes stance, and edited bio to attempt to give some explanation for Rateye's potential leadership...I mean, Starclan has made worse decisions. #RATSTAR2020
Character Name + Biography: Valantlight The harder you fall, the heavier your heart; the heavier your heart, the stronger you climb; the stronger you climb, the higher your pedestal. The one who claws his way to the top from the bottom, the one who rises above all else. Strength is a trait that you must possess in order to survive, as the world will always try to cast you from your throne and burn your roots. Some are born with the privilege of already being close to the top of the ladder, blind to the pain and suffering of those underneath. Others fight tooth and claw to get where they are, standing on fragile grounds. What meaning does social standing have if you can’t back up your words with actions? If you can’t prove why you belong where you are? If others saw the weakness in your heart, saw the hesitation in your bones, what is there to stop them from throwing you off your paws, other than your own strength? You need to be strong, no matter what obstacles stand in your way. Valantlight had always looked threats directly in the face, learned from a young age that the only one who would watch his back was himself. Very few cats can claw their way into his trust, but that’s how you earn it. He won’t give it away for free, after all. There’s a heaviness in his heart, hidden behind the charming smile he freely throws at any good looking cat he sees, but there’s also strength. There is power behind every little movement, almost as if no step is wasted. At times, you may look into his emerald eyes and see flames, as if a burning forest is about to devour you. Others will say that he is the one being engulfed by flames, but only those who know Valantlight well enough will be the ones who get away with saying it. Don’t show your weaknesses. The words always echo through his mind, shoved into his brain since he was a kit. Don’t let them push you. There were few things that remain of Valantlight’s father, but his words haunt Valantlight daily. Don’t let them see you fall. The ruddy tom is a fire in and of himself, unwilling to be chained down by others. He had watched the failings of his father before him, witnessed as he was taken down by those whom he trusted, those that had seen his weaknesses. By no means was his father a weak cat, but there was one point in which he grew soft. A failing that Valantlight fears will be his own undoing someday. After all, how can fatherhood not change a cat? Trust is a fragile thing, but it can be well placed. The world is a battlefield, but not everyone has to be your enemy.
Do you currently hold a position on Classic?: No leadership position, just MC of Fallclan (Optional) Are you planning on changing the clan?: if i do, it would just be very small things that i would run by the entire staff first, but i would keep Summer as the more traditional clan that it is c:
Character Name + Biography: Foxvalour - She was born and raised in SummerClan, if she has any choice in the matter she will die here too. Her family had come to the clan not long before she was born. Her mother died only a few days after giving birth to her and two stillborn sons. Yet Foxvalour was not alone, left with her loving father and boisterous older siblings. She was raised in love even if she was saddened when her older brother left the clan to become a loner. Her remaining sisters eventually left the clan as well. Her father however stayed in the clan, enjoying what it offered him and his remaining daughter. So Foxvalour worked her hardest to please her father, so he wouldn;t be disappointed that if he stayed just to be with her. She grew into a promising apprentice and blossomed as a successful warrior. She embodies the warmth of SummerClan, kind to all and fiercely protective of her home. Stubbornness is also a large part of who she is, rarely if ever standing down. She is a smaller ruddy orange female, who’s long coat seems to glow in the sunlight. White covers her chin and trickles down to her underside. Black tabby stripes on her head fade to a mist over her back and tail to concentrate on her tail tip. Her eyes are a soft green swirled with pale yellow. She is well built even if she looks small, often through her all into her work. It is best not to underestimate her.
Do you currently hold a position on Classic?: Nope just joined not too long ago.
(Optional) Are you planning on changing the clan?: I don't think I will, I might just add more traditions/rp event type things. Though I would love to make the clan more beachy
The last thing that one thinks when they look at Fawnstar is leader, yet that is the first word that comes to mind when she opens her mouth. Fawnstar was born undersized, the only surviving kit of her sickly litter, and never quite grew to size. As a kit and an apprentice, she was frequently ill, which resulted in her receiving only basic fighting and hunting training. However, the time she spent nest-ridden bred a contemplative and intelligent spirit in the small she-cat. She spent time listening to the elders, hearing tales from travelers, and learning basic remedies from the medicine cat. Fawnstar sought to know the world around her, appreciate the spirit and loyalty of her clan, and she learned to understand the sacrifices that good leadership takes. When she recovered, she distinguished herself among her clan members for her generous and well-tempered personality. Though she had never been physically strong, her mental strength and natural ability to lead set her apart, and helped her to rise among the ranks. Something in her good nature inspires a dedication and loyalty in those who had previously seemed unreachable. Fawnstar is deeply loyal to Summerclan- had she been born in a harsher place, she never would have flourished like she has. Her allegiance lies in Summerclan's ideals, and she knows what is needed of her and her warriors to uphold the clan's values in a cat-eat-cat world. Fawnstar's undersized form with stubby legs, soft-furred brown and white coat, and gentle hazel eyes are the outer layer of a leader who is intelligent, even-tempered, and committed with heart and soul to her people.

Do you currently hold a position on Classic?: Nope!
(Optional) Are you planning on changing the clan?: Minor changes, including updating the layout. But nothing structural and no changing of Summerclan's values or vibes.
Thanks for waiting, everyone! This was a difficult choice but I'm honored to welcome GidgetGal to SummerClan staff as their new leader (and welcome her back to the moderator team, unless you'd like to be a writer-leader) c:
I hope to see the rest of you guys supporting the new clan and participating in any deputy tryouts! We still need you, show your love for Gidget and all hail King Ratstar!
