Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Foxbane hadn't seen Funk in a while. For that matter, he'd never even met their kits, if he was even aware of them at all. Well, he probably was, she'd been up front about them being his, he'd have to be far more oblivious than she took him for to not know at all. Especially considering one was named Funkkit. Buut, regardless of the reason, he'd invited her to some greenhouse on the old League territory. She didn't really hesitate on agreeing to it either. And thus she was walking through the old territory, with it's stale League scent, towards her destination.
She was looking much better. White lines and spots flew across her fur, reminiscent of a blizzard, and though it was winter, her fur no longer seemed to just hang off her body, she was perhaps still a bit thinner than she ought to be, but certainly not so gaunt as before. Even her eyes seemed to hold a flicker of mischief that hadn't been there before. That wasn't to say she was better, or anywhere near back to her old self. But her talk with Glowstar a short while ago had made her feel like things could finally be okay. It didn't change the regret, or uncertainty of her future, though it had assured her she wouldn't be entirely alone.
That wasn't the focus of today though, as much as her love of the DayClan leader tugged on her heart to think of nothing else at times. She was going to see Funk again, and she wasn't entirely sure whether she should be looking forward to it or not, no matter what he told her. But, clearly, it wasn't enough of a deterrent to stop her from stepping into the old greenhouse after a moment's hesitation, the scent of growing herbs clouding her senses.

It was a random invitation. A spur of the moment decision. He hadn't seen Foxbane in forever. Not since they met up at the gathering place with Glowstar and Burningstar. Back when she was just skin and bones. Before that, well. He didn't regret it, but it came from a moment of weakness. The stress of moving and recent events led to those hastily made decisions. He never asked if she ended up pregnant, though based on the number of kittens around with little rosettes on them, he guessed so. Not that he held much interest in meeting them. Most tended to disappoint him.
The walk back to the Manor held a few different emotions, though he shouldn't keep focusing on them. That wasn't what today was about, and he made sure to give the manor itself a wide berth. Both Glowstar and Foxbanen fascinated Funk, in a way where he could never quite figure them out. That was what kept him coming back to them. And while he could see the Dayclan leader generally when he wanted to, he hadn't had as much luck with the ex-high priestess. That and somehow, her family was slightly less annoying than the Eeries he kept finding.
Also, frankly, he had been neglecting his child. The greenhouse at the manor was overgrowing some and he needed the help taming it. Hence the little gardening date he arranged. The plants had grown tall over him, and he was parting some of the leaves as a silhouette appeared in the doorway. "Ah, morning Foxbane. Was the walk from Sunclan okay?" He kept poking around as he spoke.
"I managed to walk to your camp while heavily pregnant with our kits to talk about one deity eating another, so by comparison, this was a walk in the park." Foxbane offered, quirking up the corner of her mouth in a slight smirk. She'd included mention of their kits on purpose, more as confirmation than wanting to see if he cared, necessarily, as evidenced by the fact she almost immediately moved on, eyes drifting around the overgrown greenhouse. Lots of work to be done. "This place definitely could use the work. I see why you needed another set of paws. Should I be insulted that I was invited for the manual labor, or flattered that I get to spend time alone with you in our element." She mused, assuming it was probably the latter. Though the former priestess knew Funk not all that well, she highly doubted he'd let just anyone into this place, especially as she scrutinized the herbs he had growing in the place.

(whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat)
"Hmm, fair point." Funk laughed, poking his head out slightly to flash a smile at the former priestess. He almost couldn't believe how much time had passed since then. Now he had yet another set of kits in Sunclan... somehow? How'd that happen? He didn't like Sunclan that much. Well, at least he knew. He floundered for some answer to that. The Nemesis was relieved though when she moved on just as quickly. Funk barely even thought about the labor, far too used to working himself to exhaustion. "When you put it that way, kinda both. Mostly the latter. I thought you might like something to focus on, and you know enough to where I don't have to watch over your shoulder all the time, unlike my Mages." Funk was no fool to the events in Sunclan. He didn't need to know how Foxbane was handling her stepping down, wouldn't say he cared. But he also invited her out here so maybe he did a little. Who knows.
