Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She let out a large yawn, one that was perhaps bigger than could be expected at all from the smaller she-cat. It was a little early to be tired, but she had traveled a little bit that morning. She was on the hunt for someone, someone that probably wouldn't even know that she existed. Gossamer Alessandra's insight had told her that the she-cat that she was looking for was on the younger side, [insert meme's looks], and had a tendency of "befriending" the wrong cats. This, plus the supposed skill the other cat maintained, made her a cat that Goss was quite interested in. After all, things were becoming more and more unstable in the world; it was good to have allies for when the clans inevitably crumbled.
"Have you seen a cat named... uh? Yaks?" she asked the nearest cat, before looking a little frustrated. "No, not Yaks. Yarrow? No, no that's not it either. Yumemory? That's closer, but not quite it..." Her voice trailed off. "Apparently, she's good at healing, once traveled around with a group that called themselves Absolute Limejuice. I was told she was around here somewhere?"
Yumemi gave the cat before her a big grin. Oh my god, she's looking for ME, she thought to herself. I'm famous! No - even better, I'm infamous!
"I believe I may have the answers you are searching for, O Tired-Looking One," she said, in what she considered her especially fancy voice. "The healer you speak of...STANDS RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES!" There was a brief pause before she whispered, "it's me. I'm the healer. I'm Yumemi," with a conspiratorial wink. Just so she definitely gets it.
sorry i really phoned this one in but im eating a pizza

O Tired-Looking One. God, that was a bummer. Had living in the tunnels even only a few weeks made her already look that tired? Her furs ruffled slightly in just a little bit of offense, before she looked back at the kid in front of her.
"Gossamer Alessandra works quite nicely," she meowed, hoping the cat would understand that she should not call the commander that again. She then blinked as the younger feline continued with her pomp and circumstance. It made her lips curl into a grin. Nine moons ago, Gossamer herself would have done something similar. Hell, there were times now that she did something similar.
"Right, right. Yumemi, right, that's your name. It's wonderful to put a name to the face, finally," she meowed with a flicker of her gaze as she took in all that was the former Absum Lux healer. "I think you worked for my cousin for a bit. Brown fur, blue eyes, burn marks, about ye high?" she motioned with her tail. "Not that she sent me or anythin', not sure what terms y'all ended up on. In fact, honestly not sure if she's even still kickin. That side of the family is ... well.. better left forgotten," she meowed with a bit of a purr. "You're... younger than I expected, I think."
Well, this was an interesting development. This Gossarm - Gosshimmer - Gossiper Alexandria character was related to Shae, eh? That made Yumemi feel a vague mixture of excitement and nauseous; nauseous, because she'd eventually figured out that Shae was a pretty horrible boss and also feline being; excitement, because even if her time with the coalition hadn't been the happiest period of her life, it was the most interesting, and surely that had to count for something.
For now though, she had a vaguely confused compliment to respond to. "Thanks!" she purred. "You know, most people say the opposite." There was a brief pause as Yumemi wondered if she should bring up Shae again.
...Nahhh. Just forget that she existed, like you do with any other bad memory.
"So, what brings you to me?" she asked instead, with a bright smile. "Wait, you're not the girl who was come deliver all those rats, are you? Because I have some herbs I need to give you right away if you are. Urgently."

She watched the emotions flicker through the cat's gaze, and she tipped her head. Of course, she hadn't actually considered that looking for her was potentially a source of trauma for the she-cat. After all, she was incredibly concerned about herself and few others. But, this Yumemi-Yaks character didn't seem too upset by her sudden appearance. Still, she could tell that she had a question about the other side of the family, so she figured she could answer it honestly.
"They never recovered her body, but one can assume she's probably gone for good. It's been a long time of radio silence; by now, she'd generally be raising hell somewhere else. Not that there really is anywhere else to raise hell now that Absolute Limejuice is gone, but hey, if she was alive she'd find something." She shrugged. Was that the most helpful information, probably not, but it was the only information that she had.
It was then that the she-cat started speaking of rats, and she raised a brow. Suddenly, a plan that hadn't been her original plan - she had originally just wanted to invite the child into her home to see if Shae's mumbling about her skill was accurate - emerged from her brain.
"Um, sure I am. I haven't delivered the rats yet, but my delivery boys should be here by tonight," she spoke, completely off of the cuff. "What herbs did you need to give me?"
Yumemi's eyes widened almost comically wide. "But I said that only one cat should deliver - you know what, never mind," she muttered, disappearing into the undergrowth for a few moments before emerging with a bundle of herbs in her mouth. She dropped them on the ground, but placed a paw over them protectively before Gossamer Alessandra could touch them.
"Who's life do you value more - yours, or your boys'?" she asked, eyes as wide as her face was solemn. "Because I could only prepare enough for one dose, so..."
( let's just say they were by yumemi's hut the whole time )

Welp. That was an unexpected response. Amusement flicked in her eyes as she realized just how over her head she had become so quickly. It was unclear what the cat was talking about exactly, but whatever it is, it didn't seem too great. Still, having a herb pack to fight whatever disease this was... Whatever she was talking about... That could be helpful. Meepo would be able to figure out what the herb pack came from, and if she talked to Yumemes enough, she could probably figure out what exactly she was up against.
"Oh, absolutely mine," she meowed, without missing a beat despite not knowing what was going on. "The boys, they are expendable. Men always are, am I right? All they're good for is eating spicy chip and lying, that's why I send them to bring the rat. I know that wasn't quite the plan, but I didn't want to get more infected with... what was it again? Seven lives only stretch so far."
"Oh, cool!" Yumemi abruptly lifted her paw off the herbs so the other she-cat would take them. "Most people take at least three seconds to answer that, but you barely even took one! I wish I had a little prize for you or something." She sat down and neatly wrapped her tail over her paws, eyes widening in alarm. "Oh, and also don't go swimming, don't get pregnant, and don't eat any sparrows until the next..." She checked the sky. "...Half-moon. Anyway, um...was there a reason you came early...?"

She grinned. "What can I say? I learned young that no man will ever be worth a little bit of heartbreak, and dying well would break my heart," she mewed with a wink to the she-cat, before settling down into a seated position. Her whiskers twitched slightly, before she answered the next question. "I was excited to meet you, that's all. I've heard stories, and i was anxious to knwo they were true, and if you have a cure for the ratty thing, well..." She fluttered her eyelashes at the cat, "well then the rumors are true."
Yumemi gave Gossamer a toothy grin. "...Yep, completely true!" It's basically a cure...I think. She declined to mention that she'd never actually tested the herbs on anyone but herself before; if Yumemi hadn't gotten sick at this point, then she doubted this she-cat would either. Yumemi's left eye had always been kinda twitchy, anyway. "I gotta say, being infamous feels really cool! Sometimes I wonder why more cats don't do this kind of thing."

"I bet it does. I myself have never felt infamy yet, so between you and me, I'm a little bit jealous." she meowed with a tip of her head, offering Yumemi a wide smile. "You're the cutest lil' infamous cat I've ever met. I didn't know they came so cute," she meowed, mostly to herself, before her ears twitched. "How did you figure out a cure?" she then asked, as if she knew what exactly it was that needed to be cured, which she really, really didn't. "And what are the general symptoms I should watch out for for when my boys start to drop dead?"
"Oh, the good thing about this disease is that you don't even have the time to watch for the symptoms before you're already basically dead!" Yumemi chirped, delighted that Goss had asked that particular question. A plague that rapidly turned your organs to mush and made the skin under your pelt so fragile that you could take a single poke to the belly and your lung-soup would come spilling out of cracks in your chest like the yolk in an egg - why didn't more cats want to hear about this sort of thing? "You're better off just killing them where they stand, once the merchandise's been delivered. I'd do it myself for you, but I'd feel too guilty."
"As for how I found the cure..." If it could be called a cure. Preventative measures, is what Yumemi would probably call it. "Well, I can't just tell you! Gotta make a living somehow," she said, with a conspiratorial wink that was far too exaggerated to serve its purpose. "Speaking of making a living, you got any work for me? Or know anyone who does? 'Cause I've been looking to get outta here a bit, go some new places. Stuff some new herbs in my mouth and see what it does. You seem like the gambling type - you relate a little, right?"

"Well, that's... a lot," Gossamer meowed, tipping her head to the side. "Quite a lot, to be honest." Perhaps Gossamer... shouldn't take the medicine? She shifted her weight slightly, before deciding that it was okay, that she wasn't going to take the thing really quite yet. Her eyes lit up, though, when she requested work. "I think I know a place," she meowed sweetly, "if you're interested in living in a tunnel like a mole. It isn't that bad, I promise, but it also isn't that good, but you know, to each their own." She admitted with a shrugg. "I think I know a boy who could help you if you wanna try some new herbs. He's gay, so I guess he can't help you in other ways, but he runs a zoo and is kinda the most cute thing I've ever. All you have to do is come with me and I can introduce you!"
