Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Get caught up on Part 1 & Part 2, or jump in right now, whatever suites your fancy! This patrol should be prepared for battle & include cats (apprentice age & up) who did not fall ill in Part 2)
The sun shone bright in the sky, the occasional cloud drifting in front of it, intermittently casting a shadow on the assembled SunClan cats below. They were all standing at the MoonClan border, some cats enraged, some filled with dread, most a mixture of both. Bloodyrondo had paused once the border was in sight. He knew it was normal to be uneasy before doing something high-stakes, but he had never even been on a patrol into another Clan’s territory before, much less lead one. He had no idea what to expect and, with Littlestar ill, he had no way of knowing if she would have approved of this action.
But the Clan was desperate. Autumngossamer’s interpretation of the omen was the only hint Bloodyrondo had to heal his ailing clanmates. No treatments the healers in SunClan had tried had worked and the condition of his poisoned clanmates had not improved. To make matters worse, the Warriors who were fasting were growing more and more weary due to their empty stomachs and low morale. There was no time to wait around or force formalities. MoonClan was the one who poisoned SunClan. MoonClan had to have an antidote. He easily accepted these ideas, seeing as they were a message direct from the Sun god according to the Soothsayer, and he felt his muscles tense in anger. How dare they target the queens and kits? Did they really have no morals? It was no coincidence that this happened on the winter solstice, the day MoonClan celebrated being at their strongest... and SunClan at their weakest.
“SunClan cats.” Bloodyrondo’s voice rang out as her turned back to face his patrol, “Remember to keep your eyes open, your ears alert, your nose sharp. The Sun god will shine his light on our path as always. We will not leave until we have the cure.”
He spoke quickly, perhaps a little too quickly, and turned back to the border. With a deep breath, the ginger Priest Promised took his first step into enemy territory.
(TLDR: SunClan leads a battle patrol into MoonClan territory in search of a cure for a sickness plaguing them)
Hunger raked it's claws deep in Skipstep's belly but the tan and black janus's blue eyes were cold as ice. The pain of hunger was nothing comparing to the fear that gripped his heart as he had watched Littlestar and their children suffer. He gritted his teeth focusing on the pain and instead using it to fuel the rage boiling within.
Jetclaw had wanted to come too, but he had told her to stay with Littlestar while he made MoonClan give up the cure. His claws gouged into the dirt unable to help himself with tearing up the ground as he'd waited for Bloodyrondo's command, only just managing to be held back by the rules. But if the Priest Promised waited a moment more Skipstep would've probably shot over the border and torn off to the heart of MoonClan.
There would be blood if MoonClan did not give up the cure immediately. Forget the war with the regime. Forget Foxbane's murders. Skipstep would tear through MoonClan cat by cat until they gave him the cure or they felt the pain of what they'd caused in turn.
When Bloodyrondo stepped over Skipstep immediately crossed over, lifting his head and opening his mouth wide breathing deeply seeking any signs of MoonClan cats.
The large red tom had been going about his day when the strong stench of Sunclan washed over him. He supposed it was fortunate that he happened to be awake this late. It only made sense that Sunclan should be out during the day but, Moonclan sure wasn't. Changing direction he made his was towards the border only to confirm his suspicion when he spotted the patrol just standing there menacingly. Alastor involuntarily wrinkled his nose at the strong scent but ignored it.
"Well, well, well what have we here!?" He exclaimed... sounding almost excited? "A SunClan patrol come to attack us as we sleep? What an interesting turn of events!"
"You know why we are here." Bloodyrondo replied flatly, his hackles rising but his voice still level. It sort of looked like he wanted to scream but was holding back, so his words were forced, like a bark, but not quite, "I demand an audience with Maplestar."
Duskslayer stood nearby Bloodyrondo, he could still remember when Renegade Regime came onto SunClan territory to attack, it hadn't ended up well for them. They were outnumbered and out of their element, here. He felt the exact same way they must have felt. He considered carefully, which persona to switch to, but for once a lot was on his mind and he wasn't bored being himself. He glanced at Bloodyrondo than at Skipstep. This was a bad time to think about names, but he couldn't help, but think how cool his name and Bloody was and feel bad that Skip got such a cute name. He wasn't sure if it fitted Skipstep's fierce and brave personality.
"What's your name?" Duskslayer asked the MoonClan tom.
Bloodyrono whipped his head toward Duskslayer and shot the tom a frigid glare. He did not say a word, but clearly communicated his message: Are you seriously asking for his name? The ginger tom let out a quiet sigh and turned back to face the MoonClan tom, waiting for his response.
Despite the hostile tone from the Sunclan deputy Alastor couldn't help but to crack a grin, revealing his sharp yellow teeth. "Oh no! Why, I can assure you I have absolutely no idea what you're on about!" He tilted his head slightly, and his eyes narrowed with interest as he regarded the tom while he made his demands. "An audience!? at this hour surely you must be joking!" he laughed curtly, stopping only when Duskslayer had addressed him. "My name is Alastor! I would say it's a pleasure meeting you but, it isn't!" he went on in that over excited announcer's voice.
(Love that Dusk's priorities is judging names XD, like 'cool your name is Bloody' and 'oof yours is Skip, man, that's rough' XDD AND IT TOOK ME A SECOND BUT AHHH ALASTOR :DDD sorry done ooc)
Skipstep's advanced forwards until he was nose to nose with Alastor. "Where's the cure for the poison," He hissed, tone like ice. "Either tell us where it is, or get out of our way so we can find someone who does." Littlestar was sick. And he would gladly tear this tom apart if he continued to be an obstacle.
(AHH! I didn’t even notice it until you noticed it Jet! xD But yeah y’know, Dusky and Cinnamon clearly have Sean’s judgmental side LOL. Dusky’s an “actor” so he’s also always looking at the world as a stage so he’s just like, “Wow, bad stage name!” lol. Also someday Jadie and I going to rp together and maybe for once it’ll be with my less weird characters… I have one of those right? xD)
Duskslayer shrugged and decided to go to Jadedarling, SunClan cats seemed to like that character during a battle. He grinned at Bloodyrondo with the most sadistic creep of a smile, his expression was entirely different like he was possessed or something. One moment he had his normal bored expression, the next his eyes were wide and crazy, staring into Bloody’s and then narrowed once more, a crack of a smile taking amusement from Bloodyrondo’s temper, “Son, if you’re going to go around making enemies you better know they’re name. It’s pious princes like yourself that get their neck slit because they couldn’t keep tabs on who they upset. I’m doing you a favor.” He took a long breath as frost escaped past his lips like smoke. He had completely changed his voice from when he asked Alastor’s name to now, it was southern with a rough neck voice that was rough as gravel. It was honestly impressive and maybe people would have time to admire it if given a different situation.
Bloodyrondo's expression softened a little bit, caught off guard by Duskslayer's sudden character change. Where had that come from? The Priest Promised had not spent a whole lot of time with Duskslayer but SunClan was full of gossip and rumors. He had heard something about this tom having a few different personalities. Well, it did not matter which one he was talking with, he would not stand to be lectured in front of an enemy Clan cat, "I've never heard of anything so stupid... but thanks I guess, you can keep track of that for me. Now step back and wait for direction."
He turned his eyes back to Alastor, who also was acting strangely, like he was running some kind of a performance. It struck Bloodyrondo as very fake and confirmed to him that MoonClan was trying to hide something. His gut said to just push past this tom, but he would wait to hear the reply from Skipstep's question before he did that. Of course, even if they were given the cure right now, he would not let MoonClan get away with just a simple "I'm sorry." Someone was going to pay for this.
Alastor shrugged at the persistence of the patrol. "Suit yourselves! You won't get the answer you're looking for here, and don't say I didn't warn you!" he broke off into a laugh as he turned to escort the group back to his camp. He had no reason not to right? this patrol would be out numbered in their camp if it came to that.
Maplestar was just emerging from her den, when the patrol had reached their camp, she had been woken by Alastor, the ginger tom was hard to miss, any cat could practically hear him shouting from across the territory given that it appeared the Guardian had no sense of volume control.
"Greetings Bloodyrondo" she nodded respectfully to the Priest Promised. "What brings SunClan here while my cats sleep?" Though that probably wasn't true anymore, if Alastor's yowling hadn't stirred the clan, the commotion and SunClan scent surely would.
SUNCLAN Bloodyrondo Bloodyrondo thought it odd that Alastor so easily agreed to lead an enemy battle patrol straight to MoonClan camp. He personally had no idea where the MoonClan base was. This clan had always been more secretive than most, they were sure to have problems finding it without a guide. Maybe a smarter cat would have been suspicious for the help, but not this one. He entered camp with his tail held high and hackles slightly raised, then scanned the area for the leader. He looked past Maplestar at first, thinking she was just some apprentice, but paused when she spoke, My cats, she says? Surely she was confused after being woken up so abruptly, "I'm here to speak with your leader, hurry and fetch her for me."
MOONCLAN Oakpaw Oakpaw had been sleeping soundly, only waking up when another, more alert apprentice stepped on him. He groaned and rolled over to see most of the den was empty, then got to his feet to find out what the commotion was all about, "Hey, what's---" He began, yawning, then stopped as soon as he tasted SunClan in the air. He opened his eyes and surveyed the scene before him, his tail low, nearly touching the ground. What the heck was going on?!
Cypresspaw Cypresspaw had been among the first in the Clan to wake up. She had not slept well; she missed curling up next to her littermates when she slept and, with Maplepaw now Maplestar, she did have anyone who would share her nest. The gray torbie stood in front of her den with hackles raised and hissed at the intruders, eager to attack and defend her home, but not about to do so without Maplestar's command. She turned her evergreen eyes to her sister and waited to see what would happen.
Alastor couldn't help but laugh at Bloodyrondo's comment, only to stop abruptly when his leader had shot him a glare. Maplestar, felt her ears burn with embarrassment, and forced her fur to lay flat. "You're talking to her" the golden she-cat had miraculously managed to keep her tone calm despite her embarrassment as she spoke. "Now, what business does SunClan have in MoonClan that you would bother us at this hour?" She could see her litter-mates gathering with the others out of the corner of her eyes but, didn't take her eyes off the SunClan tom.
SUNCLAN Bloodyrondo "What? You are Maplestar?" Bloodyrondo's ears swiveled back and he lowered his tail slightly, equally embarrassed. She was not at all what he was expecting. Sure, he had been chosen as Priest Promised when he was rather young, but this was ridiculous. She did not seem more than a moon out of the nursery! He thought he was being tricked but the way her gathering clanmates regarded her was proof enough. Yeah, this was Maplestar. Bloodyrondo cleared his throat said loud enough for all gathered to hear, "We demand the cure for the poison you used against the cats of SunClan!"
"Poison? We didn't poison any cat." She was careful not to appear as outraged as she was by such an accusation. "What makes you think we would poison your clan?" The small cat stood up straighter, trying to make herself appear bigger than she was, which wasn't helped by the fact that even at a distance Oakpaw and even Cypresspaw were still clearly larger than her.
"Stop pretending like you don't know!" Bloodyrondo snapped, taking a step forward, his claws digging into the dirt floor. He was close to striking the younger cat for trying to make him look like a fool but held back, "Give us the cure or face the consequences!"
The ginger tom was suddenly very aware that all eyes were on him. He usually loved this kind of attention, but as the words left his mouth, he felt something seemed... off. All these cats were wiping sleep from their eyes, totally confused, caught off guard. You'd think after poisoning another Clan, they would have at minimum doubled their patrols, he knew he would. He was in too deep to back out now and he was desperate for the cure. Autumngossamer promised that the problem - and thus, the solution - was MoonClan. He had to believe her words. It was the only lead he had.
"This does seem a bit odd," Duskslayer said with a piece of random wheat leaning out of the side of his mouth, "I didn't think a sweetheart like yourself could poison someone, still don't," in character still, Jadedarling turned back to Bloodyrondo, "Matter of fact, I think some MoonClan cats went rogue against their own leader, their own clan. I bet you anything one of these mutts knows the cure, but which one will be difficult."

SUNCLAN Tinypaw stood at the back of the sunclan patrol that had made their way onto MoonClan's territory. She hadn't wanted to go, but her mother had insisted. Her ears flicked backwards against her head, trying to look at anyone but the tall handsome apprentice that kept following her around after the incident with the snake. She fluffed out her fur "Then we should make moonclan oust the traitor among them" he words were harsh, but true. They didn't have time to stand around here waiting, they needed the cure and they needed it now.
Romancefable bristled his white coat at the other cat's words, a sneer appearing on his face "They can't even keep track of what their warriors are up to, and you expect them to figure it out? I say we tear them apart, until someone confesses"
Honeysplash moved forward, placing his tail over Romancefable's mouth and giving him a harsh glare "You won't do anything until Bloodyrondo orders such" the small apprentice sized cat was usually rather cheerful, but his own kits back in camp were seizing, and he wasn't in the mood to be trifled with.
SUNCLAN Bloodyrondo "I guess a cat like Maplestar wouldn't be able to keep track of her own Warriors. Is she even Warrior's age herself?" Bloodyrondo replied to the crowd, smirking, and turned his celadon eyes back to the young leader. He, too, hadn't been Warrior aged when he was selected for Priest Promised, but she didn't know that, "Look, I'd love nothing more than to strike each one of you down until I get the cure, but there isn't any time. Easy way, hard way, you pick, but know that the cats of SunClan fight with the true God on their side and won't take no for an answer."
