Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Aquakit peered curiously into the small puddle of water he'd found near the nursery, watching as the breeze kicked up ripples that distorted his murky reflection. He was fairly certain that most cats were 'supposed' to dislike water, and SpringClan cats weren't likely to be any exception. Yet Aquakit liked the feeling of the water on his fur - or at least, on his paws. He couldn't really go for a swim in a tiny little puddle. He sighed and shifted to lie on his stomach, one paw dipped into the water and one propping up his head. It was just another way that he was different from the other kits, he supposed.
( don't ask me how he has a paw propping up his head i just liked how it sounded )
A pang of discomfort caused Mossbreeze to wince, rising to her paws instinctively to stretch out. Her due date was getting closer and closer, the young she-cat could feel it. She couldn't help but sigh in relief. Though she loved motherhood so far, the pregnancy was certainly uncomfortable. Especially lately, the she-cat found herself stuck in a moss bed more frequently and longer than before for the sake of relieving some of the exhaustion that came with creating kits. The queen was certainly ready for the kits to come.
The rather round queen made her rounds through the den, noting the sleeping kits and decided to take an early afternoon nap. She smiled to herself at the sight before waddling out of the den, finding Aquakit laying on the edge of a pond, her head curiously peering into the water. "What are you up to Aquakit?" She meowed gently, fearful of breaking the kit's deep thoughts by scaring her at her sudden intrusion.
Aquakit blinked as Mossbreeze approached him, hauling himself up on all four paws out of habit. To be honest, he was kind of a little scared of the pregnant queen; he was sure she was a nice person, but he often found himself watching his step around her, like he was scared he would fall over onto her and somehow hurt her unborn kits. Maybe it was the idea of having another lifeform growing inside someone that freaked him out. Still, it was a lot less likely that he'd trip and fall on her out here in the open space of the camp, compared to in the confines of the nursery.
"S-swimming," he replied softly, watching his reflection ripple slightly as the air from his words hit the surface of the puddle. "...Well, pretending to swim, anyway. I probably n-need more water for that..."
"Swimming?" Mossbreeze repeated with genuine surprise. She herself was never fond of the water, so it was surprising to find a cat who took interest in the matter. "You would like to learn to swim one day?" Mossbreeze asked curiously, slowly sinking down to a sitting position, her haunches relaxing in relief of the small break. The shift in her position caused her to wince as she felt her kits move around, kicking her on the way to finding a new comfortable position.
