LITTLESTAR
SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
It had been a few moons since Littlestar had tried to kill herself in order to protect Lionpride and Aconite from Foxstar's wrath. Since then, so much had happened that she had not had the time to even speak with the former NightClan cat that had captured her son's heart. SunClan had almost burned to the ground, Foxstar had stepped down, and now she found herself leading SunClan into a new era of peace and prosperity. Not to mention that she had her own new litter of little ones and a new promised to train. However, now that things were beginning to settle down, it was time to deal with this little problem.
Littlestar stood at the entrance to the the initiate's den, the sun outlining the wispiness of her long fur and bringing out her narrowed golden gaze "Aconite," her voiced echoed through the den, cold and distant "Come with me" as she turned to leave, the intricate painted designs shimmered and danced like the flames of the sun
She had known eventually this time would come. She couldn't avoid the new leader forever, especially not after everything that had happened, but she still dreaded the coming conversation. It would be just the two of them, and she couldn't bear to break down and beg at her paws; this could be her last day in the clan or with her mate, though if that was truly what Littlestar wanted, she'd had a lot of trouble coming her way. Aconite had already proven she wasn't going to give up her love easily.
The initiate heaved herself to her paws, grimacing as she swayed off-balance and had to pause and lean against the wall of the den. She was getting used to moving around with the added weight, but sometimes she still forgot how limited she was now. She followed the older she-cat slowly with a few puffs for breath, grateful at least there wasn't any snow on the ground to freeze her paws, and it was difficult enough to walk without tripping over herself. Snow would've softened the landing, though, and she wouldn't have to worry as much about crushing the little ones...
Shaking her head, she refocused on the High Priestess ahead of her. "Are we going far?"

LITTLESTAR
SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
"Far enough" was her reply, not even turning back to look at the she-cat as she followed. She could hear the pregnant she-cat stumbling over her own paws, but she kept her own eyes forward. The only indication, was the twitch of the tip of her tail. That was until Lionpride came bounding over to them, eyes wide when he saw his mother leading Aconite towards the camp entrance. Before he could even say a word, she turned on him "Go to my den and wait there" she snapped. The shock and hurt on his face was apparent, but before he could protest further she nodded to two of the warriors who stood between Lionpride and Aconite, claws gleaming in a threat to turn this into a fight if he didn't back off "Myself and Aconite are just going to go on a little stroll"
Aconite bit back a sarcastic reply. Far enough was far from helpful, but she was in no position to argue right now. The fact was, there was only so much they could do to resist the leader if she set down her paw, and she couldn't get cast out of the clan while she was expecting kits. Littlestar must have more of a heart than that... but leaving without her kits would be far worse. They had been with her too long for her to give them up now.
She looked up sharply as her mate approached and shook her head at him, too late. With a glare at the two warriors, she carefully slid between them and touched her nose to his cheek. "Do as she says, I'll be fine," she murmured in his ear, wishing with every fiber of her being he could come with them. "I'll see you after, okay?" She pulled away from him all too soon, blinked reassuringly, and slipped through the guard to join the leader again, praying they did not try and get between them. She couldn't help in a fight, not with kits on the way, yet she didn't know if she had the strength to let them attack Lionpride and not defend him.

LITTLESTAR
SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
Littlestar could hear her son's growl of protest, but she paid it no mind as the two warriors began guiding him up the incline towards her den. "If you not back soon, I will come looking for you" he promised. It looked like at any moment he would snap and rush through the guards to get to his mate, but he managed to keep his claws sheathed. It was only his mate's reassurance that had convinced him to go along with this
Littlestar continued to guide the pregnant she-cat through the maze of tunnels until they found themselves alone. A light shined up ahead, but this was not the exit. As the grew closer, the ground opening up to a ledge overlooking the canyon below. Littlestar with her back to the ledge, the bright sunlight outlining the wisps of her long fur that had moved out of place in the tunnels
"It seems that you and I have a lot to discuss" Her fluffy tail folded neatly over her paws as she spoke, her eyes never leaving Aconite "You have been nothing but trouble since I allowed my son to bring you into SunClan. You distracted him from his training, made him doubt his loyalty to the sun god, and you almost got both of you killed by keeping your little secret" She kept her face void from emotion, but here was a certain bitterness to her voice. Her ears flicked backwards as she motioned for Aconite to join her on the ledge. She looked out over the canyon, high above the rest of the clan. From here they looked no larger than ants, going about their day unaware of what was going on above them. They wouldn't hear there words from here, and most wouldn't even notice that they were there.
As the she-cat moved over her gaze seemed to soften "But you have captured his heart, and stood by his side even when faced with death. For that I am thankful" she paused giving her time to register the words that she had spoken. She had probably given the she-cat quiet a fright, but really this was all just so that she could speak with her without overly curious ears "I do hope my mouse-brained son is treating you well. He has a good heart, but can be... absent minded at times"
Aconite kept her mate at the front of her thoughts as she followed his mother, more certain now than ever she had to find a way to convince the leader. She wished she'd had a chance to straighten up her fur and look more presentable, she usually spent a long time every morning getting ready, and it disturbed her not to have the ritual. Pregnancy made it difficult to groom, though, and it had become more of an all-day activity... which clearly wouldn't have satisfied Littlestar to wait through. It made her uncomfortable to sit before the powerful she-cat knowing she didn't look her best.
She listened calmly to the leader, fighting to tamper down her response, and hold her tongue until she was finished. She was torn between wanting to argue with her accusations and quivering from the truth and pleading for mercy... but she was quiet through it all, biting her lip and controlling her breath, waiting. She had to get this perfect. Aconite wasn't good at perfection, she'd always tried but found sacrifices had to be made for perfection. She'd given up being perfectly on time to be perfectly groomed instead, given up being the perfect warrior to break the code and be with her mate, and even then she'd hardly been successful at anything but stressing herself out. Positive thinking and deep breaths, Aconite reminded herself.
She straightened up slowly and met her gaze. She had her mother's baby blue eyes, and the same sharp defiant look they'd always held. Aconite had never known her mother to realize how startlingly similar they looked. "Your son has treated me better than any cat I've ever known," she replied solemnly. "I thank StarClan.... the Sun God... every day we were brought together and pray for many moons of happiness to follow." She let out a breath, this was getting into risky territory, and she was only an initiate. "But High Priestess, respectfully, I brought no trouble. WAsn't it your family Foxbane was after? What did I do to bring her wrath upon me? It wasn't my fault we nearly died, but since we did, I'm not giving him up easily." She shrugged. "As we said before... if I go, I'm taking my family with me."
Please don't exile me, please don't send the Sun God to burn me, please don't pleasedon't

[attr="class","box2"]Then I suppose I will just have to convince you to stay" a small smile tugged at the edges of her lips, breaking the stern expression she had been wearing only a moment before. Most cats wouldn't have dared to have spoken to the High Priestess in such a manner, and yet here was this initate standing up for herself and the love she had for Lionpride.
"I believe you are misunderstanding why I have brought you here" she purred with amusement "Even if I don't understand why, Lionpride has chosen to love you. You are the cat that has stolen his heart. You are cat carrying my grand-children. No matter where you are from, that makes you apart of my family. Trouble or not" it seems that despite her best efforts, her son had followed in her footsteps and fallen hopelessly in love with a cat from another clan. It was a terrible feeling, but at least Lionpride and Aconite could now be together. At least if she passed initation...
Littlestar flicked her tail onto the she-cat's shoulder "I had to see for myself, to get to know the cat my son has brought into our family. To know that you return his love in equal measure, and will stand with him side by side through the storms to come. His life would have been simpler had he not met with you, but now that he has I will not stand in the way of that. I know all to well the pain of being unable to be with the one that you love"
Thoughts of Leatherfern entered her mind, and the time that they had spent with one another. The agony she had felt every time she had to turn and leave to return to her home. The heart-ache of seeing him from a distance and knowing that they would never be able to be a true couple. Circumstances had just not worked in their favor. She had come to love Skipstep with all of her heart, but she would never forget those feelings that she wished to spare her son from. The leader didn't pounce on her on the spot; she considered that a victory. She was hardly relieved, though, even at the sneaky little smile. Too much had happened these last few moons for her to trust anyone other than her mate. Instead, as Littlestar spoke, she grew even more anxious. She hadn't been rejected yet, hadn't been sent away.... but instead, she was being confronted by the love of a mother for her son. Even if she had been accepted, for now, the initiate didn't doubt that could change in a moment if she showed how unworthy she truly was. Who was she to be in love with Lionpride? She had been so unwanted by her own parents they'd left her behind, her adopted siblings had never cared for her, she'd never done any good for her old clan except raise their apprentices. Lionpride was a prince and he was perfect in the ways she was not. He took her breath away and there was no way she'd ever be a good enough match for him.... not in anyone's eyes but his.
Aconite lifted her chin. "I'm glad we understand each other," she replied more calmly than she felt. "I will never leave your son, not while there's still breath in my body, and I'll love his kits more fiercely than any cat I've ever known. They'll grow up to be good SunClan warriors, I tell you true. I hope one day you'll be satisfied with me as well." She didn't believe for a second that for all her kind words Littlestar approved of her son taking Aconite as a mate.

[attr="class","box2"]Her uneasyness was clear, and even though she spoke brave words it wasn't difficult to see the tone that lied underneath. She didn't feel at home here, not yet anyway. She couldn't much say that she blamed her, Littlestar had dragged her way out here and told the guards to keep her son from coming after them. Knowing him he was probably throwing a tantrum and giving the warriors she left a run for their money.
It would take time for Aconite to trust her, and she could be patient when it came to her children. She would let her take it are her own pace, and give the two of them space. Unless she gave her reason to do otherwise. "That is all that I could ask for"
Littlestar looked out over their camp as the warriors finished up in the nursery and gave her the signal, flickering their tails that it had been done. She blinked turning to Aconite "It seems that they have finished" she looked back as the warriors began to go on their own way as she lifted her paw "I have prepare a nest for you in the nursery now that your pregnancy has progressed" even though she was only an initiate, the kits that she carried were sunclan. All pregnant initiates were allowed to move into the nursery when theri kitting was imminent and stay until the kits were old enough to become apprentices.
"I hope that you will find it comfortable. I wanted it to be surprise, so I had them keep Lionpride in my den until they were finished. You should go to him, and go see together. I also left you some herbs to take. It will help keep your strength up to make the birthing go easier" [newclass=.box2]margin:0px auto; width:300px; height:425px; background: transparent; overflow:auto; padding:8px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar]width:5px;[/newclass] [newclass=.box2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #772929;[/newclass]
Aconite's eyes widened at the offering. A nest in the nursery? She'd been planning on getting one, but she didn't have much time, and it had been down on her priority list. They'd been fighting for their lives, and it was harder than she expected to settle into a normal clan life when she'd never had one at the start. She licked her lips, searching for the right words to say. 'Thank you' seemed too little, too inappropriate; her mate had been the only one there for her, this was more than she ever anticipated from his family. Even if it was just a nest and some herbs, just the Priestess doing her job, Aconite felt a wave of gratitude.
"Littlestar... you don't know how much this means to me. Thank you," she breathed, bowing her head deeply to the she-cat. "For the trust, and everything else."
