Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She hadn't intended to burn the living daylights out of the rogue. Fia Cendrillon had simply looked at him in annoyance as the tom stepped over the border, the snow from the storm swirling around them, and suddenly the brightness of day seemed to twist, and a bolt of pure light had struck him. Instant cat barbecue.
Admittedly the DayClan feline was torn. One one paw, THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, AND SHE HAD TO GO TELL GOLDEN! I mean come on, who wouldn't suddenly want apparent laser powers? On the other.... well, no, there really was no other. This was amazing, more awesome than the meteor shower the night before, and she absolutely needed to see what she could do.
This, of course, turned into her spending about an hour seeing how far her powers stretched. Rainbow lights swirled around her, and the more concentrated versions may have accidentally burned a hole in a tree or two, whoops. Fia Cendrillon didn't even notice her blood red eyes, or the fact that her body glowed with unearthly light as she played around, the light itself tainted, beautiful, but with an underlying sense of danger to it, as though it were corrupted in some unfathomable way.
Peachblush had been trying to fade into the background ever since he'd noticed his newfound power - his 'curse', as he'd been calling it. Healing was a pretty decent superpower to get, he'd admit that much. But healing on the condition that the injuries would suddenly transfer over to the closest third party? Less decent, more irritating, and probably easily misused if it fell into the wrong paws.
He'd been practicing in the forest on two mice to made sure he'd figured out all the details, and it was just as he thought; he could scratch the first mouse's belly and merely touch it to seal it closed, but the same scratch would appear without fail on the second mouse. He sighed, putting the mice out of their misery and sending a quick prayer of thanks up to StarClan, burying them for later. He was about to head back to camp when he heard a faint series of odd sounds, and unfamiliar lights in the distance. Frowning, he followed the noise until he found the source - DayClan's own Fia Cendrillon, eyes glowing a violent red as she burned the everloving daylights out of her surroundings
...Peachblush wasn't the only one to get powers, he supposed. "Oh. Sorry to interrupt your...lightshow, of sorts," he said. I'll, um, leave you to it." He turned to leave, and spotted the blackened corpse on the ground, still smoking. "...Yikes. Was this you?"
Peachblush had startled her, and she spun around to face him, a jolt of searing light coming short of him by mere inches. Whoops. Probably shouldn't incinerate the tom. She might be Glowstar's grandchild, but even she might be a touch irritated if this particular tom died. "Yeah, isn't it cool! Watch this!" And in an instant, shining light weaved through the sky in rainbow color, it twisted and swirled, taking transparent form like an aurora, spun into magnificent battles and death defying stunts. It was almost scary how natural it seemed to come to her, wielding such a dangerous power without a second's hesitation or concern, as though she were born for it.
Peachblush took an involuntary step back, feeling a small portion of his fur get singed. For someone who hadn't had their power for very long at all, Fia had a great deal of control over them - almost killing Peachblush a few moments earlier notwithstanding, of course. He watched the lights dance in the sky, his expression hardening ever so slightly. These powers could be used for so much good, and yet all he could think about was the potential damage they could cause should they fall into the wrong paws, how everything could have changed if some powers had ended up with different cats. Perhaps my gradual change from an optimist to a pessimist is finally beginning.
It took him a second to realise Fia had asked him a question. "Touch-based healing," he replied, deciding not to mention the other aspect of his power for the time being. Given the recklessness Fia had shown whipping her lights around, he wasn't sure it would be safe to reveal it to her. Or anyone other than Fuzzyheart, anyway. "Not on myself though, so...please don't zap me. I do love the colours, though. Very gay pride." He frowned as he turned to take a proper look at the she-cat, with her glowing eyes and pelt. "Do you know your eyes are red now?" he asked. "And your pelt is...glowing." I hope it's not radioactive.
