Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
I still want to run a service where people send all the compliments they want to send to someone else to me and then I make a 5-second graphic and send it to the intended recipient, like a compliment mail service xD
I have no idea how feasible implementing this would be because I never have any idea of anything but I too would like a function similar to the compliments / 'so-and-so found this post valuable' function that Wiki had. I'll go ask the people who are good at handling the site's code and report back xD

but as for compliments - thoerically feasible but i’m still learning how to work keys. i’ve wanted to bring these back but don’t expect anything for at least a month but probably a lot longer

I was showing them because perhaps we could model our own 'compliments & reactions widget' to be similar, where it shows up in the forum too and not just on profiles!
It is possible to do that, but I guess I’m just not clear on why we would? ie on Classic some users has 100+ compliments so that would be a lot to put on the forum every time they post. Maybe I’m just not understanding though?

oops I kinda mixed the "reactions" idea with the "compliments" idea as one in the same. I just meant that I think we should do both of these if we can, because I think it would be pretty neat.
I was thinking about this again. I think we can do compliments in the sense that, like Wikifoundry, you can choose to send in a pre-filled compliment, but I think being able to send customized compliments (where you write in your own text) is beyond the scope of our abilities. As best I can tell I think it would require something server-side like Python, because you'd have to store the text, and we don't have access to that for Proboards.
also biyuu, the like button is the same as "find this valuable" pretty much except you can't dislike. you probably figured that out by now
