Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Bloodyrondo looked out over SunClan, his heart beating a little quicker than normal, and cleared his throat, "Children of the Sun, the Priest Promised desires your presence below the Springrock."
The Clan now gathered below him, the ginger tom turned his eyes first to the assembled kits and apprentices, "It is with great reverence that I, Priest Promised Bloodyrondo, stand beneath our Great Protector today and bask in his eternal rays. With his permission and guidance, it is now that I grant our youth their new names. May they serve him well and bring blessings onto his people."
"We also have a new Warrior to promote: Ruinedpaw, please step forward," His sister's promotion was long overdue and he was proud to be the one to give her her name.
Ruinedpaw -> Ruinedportait
"Newly named warrior of SunClan, it is with great pleasure that we now welcome you as a full member of the Clan," he said, turning his gaze to the final two cats being promoted,"Lastly, some initiates will be given the opportunity ascend to become full members of SunClan as well. Initiates, you have worked hard serving SunClan, and learning the ways of the Sun God. You've proven that you can act as a part of SunClan, and you can work as a part of SunClan, but now, the Sun God will tell us if you truly have the heart of a SunClan cat. Step forward, Initiates, and let the Sun shine on your souls."
Blooydrondo watched as the sunflowers given to him by the two Initiates began to smolder then go ablaze. He was not overly pleased by this, as one of the initiates, Hottie, annoyed him greatly. He had not expected her flower to catch flame but would have to respect the clear direction given by the Sun God, "The Sun has examined your hearts and seen that you two are truly worthy of joining SunClan. As the tides shift, abandon your old lives and begin them anew in service to the Sun God. I now grant you your new names."
Hottie -> Mistyrose Sunset -> Summersolstice
"Summersolstice, you will also be promoted to the Senate, as peacekeeper, guide, and advisor to the clan, the Initiates, and myself," he finished, his mouth dry. It had taken a lot of practice to get all the verbiage right. He was very thankful that Littlestar was so patient, "The ceremonies are now complete."
Summersolstice looked at the blazing Sun flower surprised. She hadn't expected that, but her whiskers twitched with amusement almost. It made sense that the Sun God's approval would come in such a form.
Summersolstice. An interesting choice. Summer likely connecting to the burning heat, and the Summersolstice being when night time was the shortest. How amusing that her new name be so opposite to her roots. Also a bit more of a mouthful than her NightClan warrior and leader name: Burningsky and Burningstar. But she was thrilled by the novelty of it. Even as weariness dragged at her limbs, the ginger she cat ready to return to the nursery to care for her kits and rest some more. Hopefully by the time her kits were ready to be apprenticed she would be well enough to finally return to NightClan, Soaringbird-no Soaringstar hadn't visited in a while. It made her fret that something might be remiss.
Then the other part of what the Priest Promised had said registered. Promoted to the Senate huh? Rubbing shoulders with Strik-Glowstar and Foxbane. Probably also Littlestar's appreciation as Summersolstice had done her best in her weakened state to provide aide when the High Priestess needed it.
Foxbane had heard that Burningstar would be trying her paw at initiation today. As such, the former Priestess had been determined to witness it, hoping that the she-cat would pass, and unsure of what she'd do if 'Sunset' didn't. Of course, it seemed her worries were for nothing, as Summersolstice received her new name. It was fitting, for her to be named after the day the Sun God was strongest.
Though she felt out of place doing so, the feline quietly padded up to the newly named Senator, clearing her throat slightly. "Congratulations... Summersolstice." The overly thin queen paused a moment to remember the right name to say, then gave a slight nod to Summersolstice before turning to leave. She couldn't recall Burningstar asking her to be there, or maybe her memory was just getting bad, but regardless, it probably wasn't her place to be celebrating, when she had essentially forced the she-cat into initiation anyway.
"Is this a fire hazard?" Mistyrose asked watching the sunflower as it took flame, but went out on its own. She looked up when Bloodyrondo announced her name. Although she liked the named Mistyrose it felt like a step down from Hottie, like maybe her warrior name should have been Hotbabe or Mistybootylicious? Mistyrose would have to do, plus it was a step up from her old name Mistyveil, it felt like she didn't need a veil anymore. But more importantly, according to Autumngossamer this meant that Littlestar and her were not at best friends forever level, she would have to make a friendship bracelet for the two of them. Something that just by looking at it would be able to say, hey back off, she's already got a best friend forever.
Autumngossamer narrowed her eyes in annoyance, ugh, one of these days there would be BLOOD SHED, but apparently it wasn't going to be today. Why did the Sun God even want Mistyrose around? Like sure, ex Burningstar being a SunClan cat, a little weird, right? But it kind of made sense because she made Foxbane happy so like in that way she was useful. But Mistyrose's clan had attacked them, their leader repeatedly bothered Littlestar, and she seemed to care only for herself! Maybe Mistyrose would like sacrifice herself or something or maybe be used as a living shield and that would be how she was useful, otherwise maybe the Sun God accidentally zapped that sunflower.
Summersolstice blinked, then straightened up letting out a purr. "Thank you Foxbane, I look forwards to rubbing shoulders with you and Gl-Strik once more." She said. It would be nice for at least in one clan for the three of them to hold a similar rank again. Be equals. It felt off balance otherwise.
