Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
She wasn't sure how long she had been wandering around. Honestly she wasn't even sure how she gotten here. All she knew was that her head hurt and her mama was nowhere to be seen. Who was mama even? Something told her that they had been important, but she couldn't remember why. Blood trickled down from a wound in her head. Someone or something had attacked her....She thought she remembered someone telling her to run. Then pain and then....She had to stop. Every time she tried to remember it made her head hurt worse. The small suckling paused where she was, looking around with a mixture of fear and confusion showing in her pale green eyes.
(I know the picture shows her grown, but I couldn't find a kitten that resembled this picture cx)
It was not long before a set of eyes spotted the small kitten. The Savannah rushed from his perch on one of the concrete structures down to street level. His spotted, golden fur shimmered in the pale light as he approached the kitten. "Hey, what happened to you?"
She jumped slightly when she heard a new voice. She didn't have the strength to run far. She was still hurt from whatever had happened the first time, but what if this new cat was dangerous? "I...I don't remember. My head hurts when I try..." Of course the bleeding wound on her head was another source of pain, but whatever had hit the little she cat's head had hit hard enough to make her lose her memory. "Who are you?"
His ears went back when her first fearful words reached his ears. Of course he was the one to find a bleeding amnesiac kitten. "That does not matter right now." Fezela's hazel optics lifted from the kit and to the surrounding area. Her parents could not be terribly far behind, or at least he hoped. He did not want to present this kitten to the Heda or whatever high rank he found first. "Just relax. I'm sure you parents will find you soon."
She shook her head, causing another wave of pain. She didn't know why, but she had a feeling that her parents would not be coming. Honestly, she didn't even know who her parents were or the meaning of that term. "All alone..." Two words were all that she was able to force out. She looked up at Fezela, her eyes were dull and almost lifeless. Finally she turned her head, her eyes resting on a form almost hidden by the shadows. Upon further inspection, one would be able to see that it was the lifeless form of a cat, one that looked very similar the small suckling crouched in front of Fezela. A wound in her neck seemed to be the cause of death.
Fear flickered in his eyes when he saw the despair and loss on the kitten's face. He followed her gaze to the shadows of the city, and there he saw it. He did not need to examine the corpse. It was clear it was related to the kitten in front of him. The Savvanah wrapped his tail around the kitten and licked the top of her head. The taste of iron filled his mouth as his tongue grazed one of the kitten's many wounds. He stopped mid-lick and sighed. The kitten was too young and too injured. He had to bring it in. "Hey, do you think you can walk?"
She wasn't sure honestly, but after a few more moments, she pushed herself to her paws. At first her legs were shaky and almost threatened to give way underneath her, but she stayed upright. She could move at least.
Her quivering legs were not promising, but he knew to let the kitten give it a shot. He lightly nudged her flank towards the center of the city. "We are going to go that way. Also, what might your name be so I know what to call you?"
"I...I don't know. I don't remember." At least words seemed to be coming to her more easily now, but that was the only good thing about the little she cat's current situation. All she could do was go where this strange new cat wanted her to go. It was either that or stay here all alone which didn't seem pleasant at all.
He felt his heartbeat accelerated as he looked away from her. She was beyond his help. The Savvanah rested his tail on her shoulder as he began to walk forward slowly. "Alright, no problem. This is common, it will come back to you soon. For now, follow me." He only believed about half of what he told the kit, but he did not need to be convincing. She was barely conscious.
