Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The cat who sat where the great Commanders of the Regime had all sat was a newcomer. She didn't smell like the Regime, didn't have the same mindset as Regime cats. Up until ten minutes ago, she'd been a rogue. Of course, those who knew the backstory wouldn't be surprised that she was taking her throne so quickly. After all, she had won the little bet fair and square, so now the Regime was her's.
Commander Gossamer Alessandra, it had a ring to it, didn't it? She was pleased with herself. It had been relatively easy, too. Well, perhaps not, she was looking a little bit rougher than she had when she challenged Raijin for the throne, but hey, she was doing pretty well for the fact that, well, she had taken over an entire clan in less than a few hours. All in a good Saturday's work.
The cats around her began to get finicky. She probably should have had Raijijn do this, announce his defeat. She didn't trust him much, though. They would be friends soon enough, but for now, he needed to be guarded. She let out a sigh.
"This is as good of a time as any," she meowed with a purr, before flicking her tail.
"Felines of Ribosomal Rigatoni...." She tilted her head. No, no that didn't sound right. "Sorry. I'm new here. Let's try that again. Felines of Renegade Regime, yes that's it, felines of Renegade Regime, I want to introduce myself to you. I wish I could have done this more personally, and I fully intend to meet each one of your shining little faces," she let her indigo gaze swish across the crowd. "But, for efficiencies sake, I thought this would be the best way to introduce myself."
She paused.
"My name is Gossamer Alessandra. Well, Commander Gossamer Alessandra now, I guess, yes, Commander Gossamer Alessandra. You can call me whatever floats your leaf down the river. This ugly," she nudged her brother, "is Scout Superior Mysterium. He's my brother, and I call him Mystie-moo, but I doubt he'd be too thrilled if you did that." She let out a giggle. "We're the new sheriffs in town. Of course, Mercenary Superior Shule is still going to be here. We're going to be the best of friends, but she's taking a little bit longer to warm up to me than I'd like." She frowned. "I guess I don't blame her, though. She was the next in line for Commander, but I worked hard for it!"
Did she really? That was debatable. In fact, it had only been about four days since she decided she wanted to be a leader in the first place.
"Now, I'm sure you all have questions, and I'm open to all of them! I just wanted to introduce us first before you started asking. Easier that way, mm?"
Mysterium was looking at his sister in a mix of mild horror and mischievous glee. While he knew she'd try he wasn't really sure she'd succeed. He should have known better. Now she stood here calling him a name he'd never heard before and address a group of cats that looked like they were going to try to kill them.
For the first few moments, the new Commander was met with deafening silence and blank stares. How could anyone possibly respond to that? A few of the younger cats fidgeted uncomfortably where they sat on the cold earth, and several others purposely avoided their gazes, and there were even one of those awkward coughs from the far back of the cavern. Nobody knew what exactly to make of this announcement; this sudden change in leadership that came literally overnight.
Finally, from over near the stone wall, a chuckle. Which grew into a snicker. And then a full-blown, wheezy bought of laughter.
Veteran Eclipse couldn't stop herself, honestly. The old, ragged, pitch-black she-cat stuck in a laughing fit right in the middle of an important Regime meeting. Seasons ago, in her younger days, such disrespect would've resulted in getting her ears clawed; but right here, right now, nothing but her wheezing giggles filled the empty air.
After a minute, when the poor elder was able to get ahold of herself, she sighed and lifted her head, meeting the outsider with the weirdest pair of lavender eyes Gossamer Alessandra had ever seen. "My deepest apologies, Commander," she purred. "I was not laughing at you, merely the circumstances. Rajin must have had dirt in his brain, to throw away something so valuable so easily...especially considering the perks of the position..." Eclipse's grin transformed into a sly smile as she regarded a cat on the far side of the boulder, the cat known as the 'Chaman'. "I suppose Chaman Meepo will be taking you to receive your lives from the Blind Protector soon enough?"
"Well, nevertheless, I'm certain your reign will be incredibly entertaining! It's been less than a day, and already I haven't been this amused since the last time Sean did literally anything! All hail Commander Gossamer Alessandra!" Then, just like that, the Veteran was back to being a cheerful old lady again. What the heck was that about?
Shule wanted Mars back in power. Well, she really just wanted to find him and shake him for being an absolute idiot and giving the Regime to a League cat who managed to LOSE IT IN A BET to some random rogue who would bring in her League brother to be a Superior. Really, she just wanted someone to strangle at this point, and she rather looked it. The white pawed Mercenary Superior was this close to snapping and just murdering this new Commander and Superior outright. In fact, the Regime would probably thank her for it. But as always, she was just a fraction too duty bound for it to be more than a thought.
Well, actually, that was wrong. Right now, she didn't care about duty at all. Especially with that comment about working hard for the position, which made her eye twitch ever so slightly. The feline was just lucky to have the immense self control to not immediately drop kick her out of this reality. "You could at least remember it's name." The she-cat managed to grind out, her voice downright icy as she forced herself to speak slow and bury the rage simmering beneath her fur.
"Don't be too upset Shule.." Myst drawled from his spot next to the new commander. "It took her awhile to remember my name and we shared a nest as kits." He flashed her a slightly sympathetic look but still didn't back down from his stance. While he was happy his sister was happy, he wasn't sure the former commander was the best for the group either. Seeing as he'd simply lost the regime in a bet. This was entirely his fault.. guess now he just had to be sure the place didn't fall down around them.
The look Shule flashed Myst was most definitely not one of appreciation. In fact, it was almost as angry as she had looked when she'd downright murdered the then High Priestess Foxbane for stealing her kits, and almost murdered Glowstar simply for believing she was keeping them from her. It was enough to make even the strongest Mercenary wilt under the strength of her crystalline gaze. Under her breath, she grumbled something about murdering Raijin the next time she saw him, along with a string of curses that certainly wasn't appropriate for this setting. Truly, she didn't have a single hope that Alessandra was any more fit for duty than the other tom, she couldn't even remember the group's own name.
A soft, feathery tail suddenly rested on Shule's shoulder, stilling her. While the new Commander had been making her grand speech, Mercenary Gardenia had snuck around the back up to where the Superiors were, going almost completely unnoticed despite her muscular figure; it helps to be raised by a pair of the best spies the Regime had ever seen. The former Mercenary Superior didn't particularly have any opinions on the change in leadership; whoever held the title of Commander she served obediently. But she also knew Shule's dedication to honor, and more importantly, the scars that littered Gardenia's body never let her forget what had cost her own position as the Commander's successor.
"Are you alright?" She asked genuinely, lifting her muzzle to Shule's ear so they wouldn't be overheard. Though she didn't particularly care if that Myst guy noticed them at all.

"My first action as Commander of this fine Rigatoni," this time, it was absolutely on purpose that she miscalled the group - she was curious how far she could push Shule without being murdered - "is establish that you, what is your name?" She pointed at Eclipse with her tail. Gossamer Alessandra was momentarily distracted by her eyes, absolutely fascinated by the lavender. There was something familiar about that shade, but she couldn't place her paw on it. She then blinked. "Well, whatever her name is. You are my favorite." She nodded definitively. "And, I mean, I can't speak for Raijin. He probably does have dirt for brain. However, he lost it fair and square." She shrugged. That's what you get for making bets.
"If any of you are curious why my best friend Shule is so bitter, your dearest Commander lost this here Regime because we placed a bet. You see, that's the best way to do things, bet on them. Mystie-poo bet me that I couldn't be a commander, and here we are! Naturally, Raijin took my bet, who could have blamed him? I don't look too threatening," she meowed, blinking her deep indigo eyes. "Poor, poor Raijin. If any of you are curious, he will have visiting hours every evening." She then snapped back into focus.
"I expect that because I won fair and square, that you all will be nice about it. However, if you all are sore sports," she glanced at Shule, "I want to establish that by the end of the day, I will have several guards here, including Auntie Heda Genesis. She should be here before too long, but she runs late sometimes. Anyways, they will be here to protect Mysterium and I. Like Purple Eyes over there says, I'll be getting my lives soon, so I'll be off the table, but if any of you decide to be meanies to my brother," her voice shifted to a clear threat, " there will be consequences."
The surprise came and left the Veteran's face like a spark of light in the darkness. So this pair were old Absum Lux, then? Today was getting more and more interesting by the minute. "My name is Eclipse, Commander," she purred as sweetly as an old lady could. "Though you can still call me 'Purple Eyes' if you want to. I'm the oldest feline living in these tunnels, and yet still prettier than the best of 'em." She shot Gossamer Alessandra a toothy, playful grin and a wink. It didn't take a genius to realize that most of her groupmates probably weren't too happy with her quick approval of Raijin's 'successor', but she was honestly too old to care at this point...though whether she had ever actually cared about anyone's opinion of her in her life was a different question altogether. "I look forward to the Regime's future under you and your brother's Command, and I'm absolutely positive we'll all get along swimmingly."
Auntie Genesis.. This kit and her silly names. "I'm here you furball." The white she cat mewed, pale blue eyes peering at the cats around her then landing back on her niece and nephew. She'd JUST been here and met that cat they'd called a commander. He hadn't even realized he'd had the former Heda right under his nose and let her walk right out. No wonder he'd been tricked so easily. She sat a distance away, waiting for the she cat to break up the meeting before laying into the two about how to take over a group properly. ~ The blue eyed tom grinned at Eclipse's comments before the sound reach him. He flinched when he heard Genesis' voice chime across the gathered cats. "You didn't tell me you called her!" He mewed urgently to his sister. He might be as well trained in battle and herbs as his father but Genesis still managed to send chills down his spine. "This is going to be a circus."
Again, it was almost incoherent mumbling, but it sounded vaguely like Shule threatening to murder this new Commander, along with Myst and basically anyone else who thought they could just take over the Regime on a whim or some STUPID BET. By the Blind Protector, what a stupid, stupid way to lose the Regime.
Kaisra raised her paw, though she didn't really seem to care much if this new Commander saw her, considering she almost immediately put it down, bounding forward with what appeared to be a delighted grin. "Oh! Don't forget! You have us Sentinels to help with keeping you safe too! That's the job after all! Just ignore my mom, she'll get over it soon enough." She gestured towards Shule, not looking off put much by the feline's sour attitude. "In the meantime, I can show you all the fun secrets and we'll see what sort of trouble we can stir up in the meantime." It was a brash statement to immediately start suggesting raising trouble, but the Sentinel sure didn't care. Gossamer seemed like the fun type, and anyone who could get so thoroughly under her mother's skin was a-okay in her book.
"Oh, I'm Kaisra by the way, at your service." She added as an afterthought, with a rather conspiratorial smile spreading across her features.
"Eclipse, you are the prettiest cat I've ever meet, and we've only just met, but I think I'm in love," she purred sweetly to her first supporter. She watched as Eclipse realized a relation that the duo had. Neither Gossamer Alessandra nor Mysterium had ever been Absum Lux cats, she didn't think, but they were legacy there. They were legacy in a few places, but hey, it wasn't her fault she was related. "I'm sure that the Regime is going to change quite a bit under my rule, yall will truly need to loosen your top buttons, but we are going to have fun while it lasts, aren't we, Eclipse?" Her smile was genuine. She found the elderly cat endearing.
When her aunt showed up, she grinned even further. "Auntie! I'm so glad you made it. Please tell me you didn't invite... him," she meowed. Their father was not invited to the car crash that was her coronation. Would she allow him to visit her eventually? That was debatable. She then looked over to her brother. "Yeah, it is a circus, but you know what, it's my circus, and I love it, and I love all of these silly cats even the ones who don't love me yet," she pointedly looked at Shule, "because we are now one big happy family and I had to invite our Auntie Genesis if we were really going to be a big family," she explained.
It was then that she noticed Kaisra speaking. It was a good thing that Gossamer Alessandra couldn't really concentrate for more than two seconds at a time, because it was an awful lot of cats that all wanted to talk to her at once. She had always wanted to be royalty, and here she was. Famous. "So, you're telling me, we basically have built in body guards!" Excitement danced in her eyes. "Perfect! This is just so cool. I've always wanted an entorauge. And, to think, I was just a small town girl at one point, it's almost enough to make me," she sniffled, "cry just thinking about it." She let out a laugh, before Kaisra continued to speak.
"Secrets?Trouble?" She sounded far too delighted at the prospect for anyone in the Regime not to question their safety with her at their helm. She wouldn't last long here, she didn't think, but by god, she was going to have a good time on her ride that was leadership. "Kaisra, I think we speak pretty much the same language," she meowed, a sinister light dancing in her eyes. She then blinked. "See, Shule! Your friends like me! And your daughter! Shouldn't that be enough to make you want to go pick flowers with me?" she meowed with a pursed lip, before turning back to Kaisra. "You're sure she'll get over it? She's been quite the s-t-i-c-k in the m-u-d about this whole thing," she whispered, but her whisper was still basically a shout.
Well this was certainly not what Undertow had been expecting when he’d made his home here. He watched the proceedings with eyes that grew more and more narrowed. Like he’d been presented something puzzling and he was trying to parse out the meaning. He liked to always have a foothold in whatever group he was in, a safety net. He wasn’t sure how he was going to ensure his own security with this new chaotic leader. Wasn’t sure how anything would proceed except for it being as noted by Mysterium, a circus... or a bloodbath if Shule rallied others to her side. “Well this certainly changes things,” he muttered.
Scout Cadet Bumble liked the new leader’s energy. She didn’t know what to make of her antics sure but she obviously had a lot of energy and spirit and it made Bumble bounce on her paws, feeling energetic from the commanders excitement. When the commander looked her way Bumble’s tail waved, dipping her head slightly. Earning the mute cat a few looks but Bumble didn’t mind hoping Gossamer Alessandra would recognize her support.

Veteran Ren sat nearby Eclipse, his thin tail twitching uncomfortably. He had seen many commanders step down, but their reasons were usually honorable. His intelligent and quick eyes, despite their age, traveled over the former Commanders and Superiors in the group. The large white mercenary, Fjord, was watching with mild, humored interest. Ren wondered if his younger cousin was simply going with the flow now. He didn't seem too alarmed. He watched Gardenia for a moment, warmed by her concern over Shule. No matter the role one once played, they were all supportive of one another. A family despite their differences. He silently wondered how Gossamer would take a role like Commander without that kinship supporting her from the beginning. Without a single touch of respect for the Regime's history. He thought with a small sigh. At least she seemed a bit less... sketchy... than Raijin.
Chaman Meepo shuffled his little brown and white paws a bit uncomfortably, feeling Eclipse look burn through him all the way to the tip of his tail. His little ears twitched nervously and he wondered for a moment what his group thought about him or the Blind Protector at that moment. It's not like he had that much control and the BP had been silent despite worried prayers from the little tom. He figured the excitement was keeping the ancient cat amused. "We journey soon." He spoke softly and held a small, awkward half-smile on his maw. He wanted to keep the group's spirits as calm and optimistic as possible. "The Blind Protector has not spoken to me about his thoughts, but he does not seem to disapprove."
