JETKIT
THE SWEET - SUNCLAN KIT
Jetkit had been racing down the path from her mother's den to the nursery, when suddenly everything went dark. She skidded to a stop, freezing in place. "MOMMMA" she called fearfully, whipping her head back and forth and blinking rapidly, trying to understand what was happened. The little she-cat had never seen an eclipse before, and had never heard of such a thing. Her tiny body trembled, as she finally looked up into the sky to see the blazing circle where the sun once was
"Hey stop yelling!" Disocordantkit yawed, exiting the nursery with sleep in her eyes. Her calico fur was sticking out at funny angles and had twigs and leaf litter stuck in it, no doubt thanks to something mischievous she had done before laying down for her nap. The nap that Jetkit had so rudely woken her up from. She shot him a half-hearted glare and noticed that something seemed... off. Her internal clock told her the Sun should be high and shining bright, but the world around her was draped in shadows. She follow Jetkit's line of sight up to the sky and marveled at the eclipse, "Woah. That's pretty cool."
Discordantkit padded over to Jetkit and sat down next to her, eyeing the sky with curiosity, not fear. She hadn't quite decided what she thought of the Sun god yet but so far her impression was not very good. How could an all-powerful deity like him let anything dull his rays of light? Was he weak or something? She had heard murmurs of a summer solstice, of course, but didn't care to understand it.

JETKIT
THE SWEET - SUNCLAN KIT
Hearing her mother's warning about not looking at the sun or it would hurt their eyes, Jetkit squeaked loudly and ran towards the nursery. Unfortunately in her panic, she ended up running straight into Discordant kit. It was like running into a rock wall, and it sent her sprawling backwards feet scrambling to find their footing. "Get inside, momma said to get inside" she called fearfully, trying to keep her eyes firmly on the ground like she had instructed
Unlike Jetkit, Discordantkit had not been given any such warnings about starring at the sun by her mother. She would have continued to damage her corneas had Jetkit not stumbled into her. She fell, too, though more gracefully than her companion, and regained her footing fairly quickly.
Usually the small calico did not listen to anyone and did what she wanted, but the urgency and panic emanating from Jetkit - along with the strange omen with the Sun being all covered up - made her think she aught to take her seriously. She thought about it for a few moments, her eyes on the entrance to the nursery, a little fuzzy with sleep and sun spots.
Nope, she was not going to miss out on the chaos outside.
"You can go to the nursery, I'm going to figure out what is going on," she said plainly, padding in the directing Jetkit had come, not sure where she was going but hopeful she would find trouble.

"NO" she pleaded, getting to her paws and leaping toward the other kit's back to stop their progress "Did your momma not teach you how to listen to the High Priestess? Mommas said to get inside, so you should stay here. She speaks for the sun god" she added matter of factly "Momma wouldn't give an order unless it was important mouse brain"
Discordantkit flicked her tail tip, a little bit annoyed, but still grinning. Well, at this point, it was more of a smirk. She did not consider herself a bully but just could not help herself when Jetkit looked so panicked and decided to make something up to keep it going,"Oh, my momma used to speak for the Sun God, too. She wouldn't hide in her den when He clearly needs some help. I'm going to go find a way to make the eclipse disappear!"

JETKIT
THE SWEET - SUNCLAN KIT
Jetkit narrowed her eyes "USED to speak for the Sun God" she replied sternly. "and momma isn't hiding in her den, she is getting herbs to treat those that are hurt" she insisted, stepping in front of the other kit to keep them from leaving "You have to listen to the High Priestess, its in our code!"
Doctoredkit had been sitting outside of the nursery when the sun vanished and although he had heard the warnings from the older cats he did not move from his spot, he was far to curious though he did lower his gaze from the sky after a moment. His black ears twitched as Jetkit and Discordantkits voices shot back and forth, standing he padded closer to Discordantkit with a sideways smile. "That's not a bad idea, mind if I help ya?" He wanted to know more and this seemed like a good way to get that information, he cut his pale green eyes towards Jetkit as she panicked and let out a sigh. "If your so worried about it, then go on and hide, Jetkit, we wouldnt want mommy getting on to you." There was laughter in his voice as he mocked the other kit.
"It's dumb to think the Sun god only talks to our current leaders. But if that's what you want to believe, then enjoy your time as a sheep," Discordantkit mewed to Jetkit dismissively, turning her purple eyes to her brother. She hadn't spent a lot of time with Doctoredkit but she appreciated that he took her side. He was the spitting image of their mother, Foxbane, and had some of the same presence, which gave her an idea, "We should go to the Temple and see what the Sun god has to say ourselves."
Discordantkit had dabbled in sneaking into the Janus camp before - multiple times - but never got far without being caught. Today, though, the camp was utter chaos, cats of all ages running around and wailing about the sun being eclipsed. Now was the chance of a lifetime and she did not want to miss it,"You don't have to come if you don't want to, Jetkit. Doctoredkit and I will save the Clan without you. Probably."

"and what's to stop me from going and telling mom your little plan right here and now?" she replied curtly, eyes narrowed. Even though they had tried to mock her, she didn't really care. She was proud of her mother, and their little insults would not hurt that pride "Besides even if you got to the temple, the only way to talk with him is to touch the flame. If your wrong and he doesn't want to talk to you, you are going to get burned" she shook her head disapointed at their half-thought out plan "You should at least take him a sacrifice, to even stand a chance or not angering him if your gonna break the rules and try"
"Go ahead and tell your mom, by the time someone tries to stop us, we will already be there," Discordantkit bluffed, her tail high in the air. Clearly she was not concerned with the threat. If she got caught, worst case she'd get time-out, best case she'd actually get to see the Temple, she had nothing to lose. She was happy that her brother at least was going to go with her, it was easy to get lost in those tunnels sometimes, and having two heads was almost always better than one, "And I've never heard of giving offerings to the Sun god. Have you, Doctoredkit?"
Doctoredkit found Jetkits words quite amusing, she was such a baby threatening to tell on them. "Discordantkit is right, we will be long gone before you're able to tell anyone." He turned to his sister with a smile and tilted his head in thought. "I havent heard of anything like that, she must be making it up." He cut his eyes towards Jetkit as he spoke.

"Go ahead then, see how far you get" she glared "When you get burned Ill be sure to tell them that you didn't head my warning" she turned flicking her tail. If they wanted to act like mouse-brains than let them get hurt
"Well you better hurry along and tattle on us," Discordantkit chirped, "After all, you know all about it and haven't stopped us yet, basically an accomplice. Good luck getting one of the big cats to listen to you with the Moon covering their God." she turned her purple eyes to her brother, "Let's get going before this mouse-brain ruins all our fun."
It was clear that she was trying to get a rise out of Jetkit. High-and-mighty Jetkit, daughter of the High Priestess, sure to have a big, bright future. Discordantkit had a pedigree too, of course, but she didn't think herself any better off than the next cat. Jetkit, on the other had, seemed like a real princess sometimes. The calico did not hate her for it. She understood the mindset well enough, her sister was Contaminekit, after all. But what if she could drag Princess Jetkit down with her, all the way to the Temple? Would a goody two-shoes like her see the Sun god? Or would she get burned? Seeing that play out sounded a whole lot more fun than whatever would happen to herself or even her brother.
