Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Duskwing and Frozenfire were nodding along approvingly to what Flamingsoul said.
Beetleflight though shuffled his paws, discomforted by all this talk of 'ferocity'. He hadn't been old enough to be involved with a lot of it, but he did remember seeing his clanmates laugh and talk about how they bossed around SpringClan and DayClan cats when they'd been helping SunClan and BrookClan imprison them. The cruelty shown to MoonClan when the Pride took them over briefly... he liked how things had finally settled into.
But now? With talk of what embracing all that again but alone? It made him uneasy, ill.
What was wrong with having peace with their neighbors? Especially since it had taken such a bumpy road to get to it?
But given the way the crowd was shifting it seemed ill advised.
"It would be good for NightClan to be independent again," Squirrelleap said. He had no qualms about helping their neighbors, but he'd begun to chafe under the constant interactions with SunClan and DayClan. Be nice to just be a clan on their own again, able to keep to themselves for once. "Nice to have our territory for ourselves, rather than a constant open invitation to supposed 'allies', I heard Foxstar went mad and was murdering cats left and right. We can't trust that. A known killer." His voice was tight, the death of Dreamkit at the paws of Vampirelad and his band of lost kits or whatever he'd called his stolen kits still left Squirrelleap hurting.
"IT is time to take action NightClan it's time to follow m- Flamingsoul!" Frozenfire corrected jabbing her tail towards Flamingsoul. "We should remind the clans who NightClan is, kick out the lying she cat and her traitorous mate."
"What of the kits?" Stealthclaw asked. "They are innocent in all of this," Her voice was firm.
Frozenfire shrugged. "Well at this point there's no BrookClan or Springlockedgrave to go back to, and they were taken in as kits so their position in the clan, isn't in question. Their traitorous kidnappers that pretended to be their parents though, should have no place here. We will not have anymore lies!"
"The only lie I ever told you was about the true parentage of the kits! Nothing more!" Soaringstar shot back whirling on Frozenfire.
"Sure." Frozenfire sneered. "You just.. conveniently stayed away until you needed to leave BrookClan for greener pastures or whatever. You were gone for many many moons Soaringbird a little convenient that you only chose several seasons ago to come back in face of the ages you were lost."
Flamingsoul was impressed by Frozenfire's cold comments and a smirk curled on her lips. The ginger she-cat leaped down from the crystal and faced Soaringstar. "Nightclan has spoken, Soaringbird. You have been overthrown and therefore, I am now Nightclan's leader. As for you, your exiled! You and your mate are not welcomed here."
(Jet, I'm not sure if this is okay to exile them, if you want me to change it, I can. I just figured it will be temporary. Maybe they can stay with Sunclan or Dayclan or something if you want. I can keep their names on the Nightclan page and when you take back Nightclan with Burningstar, she can bring them back or if the overhaul happens, Sun, Day, Night, and Primal Instinct are coming together anyway as one clan so it wouldn't matter if they were exiled. Or, if you prefer them to stay, maybe I can change it so that Flamingsoul makes them prisoner it's up to you)
(I want at least Soaringbird for sure to be exiled, she's gonna go be all sad and mopey and hook up with Deal before joining DayClan while Flamingstar runs things XD)
Frozenfire smirked as Flamingsoul exiled Soaringbird. Finally. Everything was coming together. And perfect timing too! Flamingsoul would step up and become leader, and Frozenfire would have to settle for deputy for now, but it would be fine. It was a step in the right direction. She could give Flamingsoul her reward for a little while, let her sit in the spot but in time Frozenfire would get what she wanted and had been denied for so so long.
She'd already forgotten about Flamingsoul's hesitance when she'd mentioned serving as Flamingsoul's deputy, surely with her kits so close to being of age to be apprenticed, Flamingsoul would drop the excuses and reward Frozenfire accordingly.
Soaringstar- no Soaringbird bristled at Flamingsoul's words. She remained unmoving for a very long moment, her eyes on Blazepaw before lifting her gaze looking to Raspberrypaw, Skypaw, and Infernalpaw. Her children.
Skypaw looked horrified and aghast and just at a loss as everything came crumbling down on them.
And then Soaringbird's gaze drifted over the clan, expressions ranging from uncertainty, anger, and even outright hostility from others. She could see Praline look on, and Soaringbird felt a stab of guilt. Praline had been just about to be adopted into the family. She'd been so excited to welcome her in after another moon or so to let her get used to being apart of her and her sister's large family in NightClan.
It wasn't to be, she hoped that maybe Ironjaw who she supposed now stood as the head of the family in NightClan would accept Praline as an adopted aunt, even with Soaringbird and Burningstar's absence.
"I see nothing I say will do anything." Soaringbird said stiffly. "I will leave upon Blazepaw's recovery and after I've said goodbye-"
"You would likely only plot. Besides you've hurt these kits enough when you kidnapped them. Drop the act, save your goodbyes and get out." Frozenfire snarled barring her teeth.
Soaringbird narrowed her eyes at Frozenfire. "You aren't the leader here Frozenfire." She felt a slight flicker of satisfaction at the pure rage that ignited in Frozenfire's eyes, the she cat looking about ready to fling herself at Soaringbird. Soaringbird almost hoping she would. But Frozenfire held herself back, barely. She turned to Flamingsoul. "Well? You've taken the leadership do you intend to deny me the right to make sure my children are properly cared for before I depart?"
Flamingsoul, no, Flamingstar now, met Soaringbird's furious gaze with her own cold stare. "The apprentices will be fine. There is no quarrel with them. They will be cared for as Nightclan cats. Blazepaw is in good paws. I think it is best for them if you dont say your goodbyes. They are not your kits anymore, Soaringbird. They belong to Nightclan and you do not. You must leave, now."
Soaringbird shook her head, chuckling but there was no humor. Only bitterness. "Of course. Nevermind what their dead mothers last will to me was." She looked at Turbulentsea. "For Springlockedgrave's sake Turbulentsea, you better not let anything happen to them. You know this wasn't what she wanted." Soaringbird said.
"Get lost," Frozenfire spat. "Enough chit chat, leave." She unsheathed her claws pointedly.
Soaringbird ignored her instead bending down towards Blazepaw and giving him a gentle lick. Though she doubted her son even recognized it, before she turned and began shoving her way through, her gaze hard, back stiff, her whole body stiff. Eventually cats parted to let her through before shifting once she was towards the far end of the group, like a closing barricade. No longer a group of her clanmates, but a wall that barred her from her family.
Anguish was building in her heart along with fear. Fear for Blazepaw, fear for her other kits. And guilt that now she'd truly failed Springlockedgrave. If only she'd swallowed her guilt. Springlockedgrave must be watching from StarClan angrily. Furious that not only had Soaringbird stolen her kits now, but had now left them in the paws of a cat Soaringbird no longer was certain had the clan's best interest at heart.
Not that she could do anything anymore.
She reached the mouth of the caverns and then raced up the winding path along the cenote, fleeing the clan as fast as she could.
Flamingstar watched the former leader retreat before climbing onto the crystal once more. "Now that I'm leader, I must choose a deputy." Her turquoise eyes landed on Forzenfire but instead, she chose someone else. "My deputy will be Firewind."
Frozenfire had felt a wave of excitement as Flamingsoul immediately began to move to name a deputy. 'Great! Now I can finally-' Her excitement immediately vanished as Flamingsoul didn't name her as deputy. Frozenfire's gaze snapped to Firewind a snarl beginning to form. 'HIM?! Of everyone she picks him, and not me!' Outrage shot through her.
How dare Flamingsoul do this! Snub her after she did all this to get Flamingsoul here.
Eyes narrowing she returned her gaze to Flamingsoul glaring at her. She wouldn't forget this. Flamingsoul would regret snubbing her like this, her kits were no excuse to pick that oaf over her.
Squirrelleap went over to Firewind. "Congratulations, you'll do great." He said giving the tom a nudge. He figured Flamingsoul had chosen Firewind to balance out each other. Firewind was a solid and dependable cat and decently liked overall. Made sense to pick a tom with little issues over say the very tart and vocal Frozenfire, Firewind never failed to be dependable.
Fierypaw though glowered at her mentor. Pft. Firewind? The guy was strong and all sure. But he wasn't a cat who had much presence in the clan... nevermind that she remembered Stealthclaw and Fernshadow giggling about him at one point.
'Shame he's stuck as her deputy.' Fierypaw thought biterly.
Flamingstar noticed Frozenfire's anger. The ginger leader would have chosen her but she didn't trust Frozenfire as far as she could throw her. Which wasnt very far. She appreciated Frozenfire for her support but she knew Forzenfire had her eyes on the throne. As soon as Flamingstar would let down her guard, she knew Frozenfire would stab her in the back. She decided to leave Frozenfire to pout. Surely she will get over it eventually. She had kits she needed to care for, anyway. Flamingstar leaped down from the crystal and watched as her clan congratulated Firewind. Finally, she was leader just like her ancestors.

Firewind had been silent during all that had transpired. He was surprised that Flamestar had chosen him to be deputy. As he looked about the clan his mind was in a million places. So much had happened. Why was I chosen? What will happen to NightClan now? Feelings of both excitement and dread filled him from head to tail tip. It wasn't until Squirrelleap had approached him that he snapped his attention back to the present. "Uh, thanks," he replied to her comment. "I hope I will." I certainly hope I will.
The tabby tom nodded. "You got this Firewind," Squirrelleap assured him, giving him an easy grin before the tom stepped aside to let their other clanmates congratulate the new deputy.
"Wow Firewind, deputy that's pretty exciting," Stealthclaw noted with a smile.

Bleakwind went over to Flamingstar, "Well, welcome to leadership... let's hope things settle down after this soon." He murmured noting the unrest the clan was falling into. Though most seemed to agree with Soaringbird's exile, and many were congratulation Firewind, some were side eyeing Flamingstar. "Are you all right? That must've been a lot to deal with."

Squirrelleap's words made Firewind feel better, but not more confident. He still had his doubts. Would all the clan accept me as their deputy? He turned toward another voice addressing him and was pleased to see the pretty gray and white she cat approaching him. "It is exciting, Stealthclaw," he replied, giving her a smile of his own. "But a little unnerving as well. There's so much responsibility to being a deputy, something I never thought would be placed on my shoulders."
Flamingstar let out a sigh. "Thanks...Honestly, it was...I just hope the clan will eventually see me as their leader." She knew she could always talk to Bleakwind. She could show her true colors to him.
