Sage was a cadet now! And he was young and didn't truly understand what that meant, had no idea the responsibility he was about to take on or what it meant for the rest of his life, but he was very excited. For days he'd been strutting around like a hero, tail straight up and eyes wide and watchful. Suddenly, this was all his to protect. He was done being the protected. Now it was time to get serious and train to help care for every cat in his home.
no idea where he is or what he does, lets start from the bottom lol

She turned the corner and her gaze fell on the young tom, and she couldn't resist a roll of her eyes. "Oh look, it's you again," she muttered with a roll of her eyes. She couldn't go twenty tail-lengths without seeing one of the new cadets strutting around recently and she was quickly growing tired of it. Scout Cadet Cidhna looked up at him with a narrow glare. "Don't you have anything better to do? Some of us have actual work."

"Nope!" Sage replied, voice full of zing and pep guaranteed to agitate better cats than he, "I'm enjoying a relaxing morning, just kinda reflecting on everything, you know?" He couldn't see it, but Sage was quickly becoming a disliked cat, full of so much enthusiasm but still somehow the laziest cat you could find. He wanted to be great without actually having to try and be great.
"That's great! I'm so glad you were promoted so you could sit around in a different post then you used to!" Her honeyed words dripped with sarcasm. Really, who thought it was a good idea to promote tykes based on their age? She had been ready to get out of the old post moons before she was old enough, but this one needed to stay a bit longer. Cidhna had a feeling they were all going to get yelled at for slaking off if anyone saw Sage sitting around.

"I know!" He thrilled back, unfazed. "It's awesome!" He thought maybe, perhaps, she was being sarcastic. But he didn't dwell to much on it. "Hey, I've got an idea. Maybe I should come with you? You know, observe? Supervise? Whatever." Was that how this worked? Probably not, but Sage liked to think the Regime was open to a new way of doing things. Preferably his way.
Cihdna snorted. "You wish. I'm going up to the surface, though, and you plant folk have to stay down here. Rai would have your skin if you came with me, anyway," she drawled. There was a hint of smugness in her eyes now. It was no secret among the cadets that the Commander had taken a special interest in some of the cadets, and she was lucky enough to be one of them. A special mission here and there and suddenly she acted like they were best friends.
