Coolpaw was officially a student. And it felt amazing. He basically ran this clan now, in his own mind anyway. Cats looked at him and they were impressed. Barons thanked him for his care, soldiers told him he'd be an asset once trained, the youth wanted to be just like him. He was an inspiration.
And he walked around camp like he knew it. Today he was strutting to the fresh-kill pile with his catch, a sparrow and a vole, and it felt like the world was all about Coolpaw. So, of course, he tripped and fell face first into the small pile of creature.
She couldn't help but laugh as he fell, which, granted, wasn't the nicest thing to do, but Liminalgold was an Aquarius, and they weren't known for being the nicest sort. This was an unfortunate reality for the she-cat, but hey, she had to amuse herself somehow, and it wasn't her fault if that amusement came at the expense of others. It was an unfortunate reality for the tom cat that he happened to be the focus of her attention at this particular moment.
"Smooth," she purred as she padded over to the kill pile, deliberately not stumbling in the same way as he had. "I've seen plenty of cats dig in to this kill pile, but I have to say, you might be the most excited." Her lips twitched in amusement as she offered a paw to help him up. She might not be the nicest cat in the village of WinterClan, but she wasn't going to let him sit embarrased for too long without offering some aid.

Why did this have to happen to him? He slumped into the creatures dramatically before hearing a voice. A she-cat's voice. Now he was truly mortified. He prayed to StarClan to turn him into a dead mouse, but those dead cats much not have felt inclined to do so because the she-cat continued talking. Embarrassed, he peaked through the tail of a scrawny squirrel and sighed, taking the other cat's paw and hoisting himself up with a soft growl. "Um, thanks." He pawed the ground anxiously. "I'm just gonna go..." he turned and began his hasty retreat to the shelter of the student's den.
"Oh, no you aren't," she meowed with a flick of her tail. it came off perhaps a little more like an order than Liminalgold actually had the authority to sound like, but she was working on climbing up the chain of command. It was a slow march, though, especially if you were her. "No tom's gonna run away from me like that, mm?" Her voice softened as she chuckled mostly to herself, before padding after him. "I'm probably the only one who saw that wonderful work of coordination, if that makes it any better," she then mewed, as if she suddenly realized why the tom might be particularly embarrassed. "We all have our days where we bumble our way absently into the freshkill pile. Don't be a sourpuss just because you made a mistake!"

Coolpaw froze at her command, staying still for a solid three seconds before realizing she wasn't the boss of him. With a huff and made to head off but her words once again stopped him. Turning back he shook his head, "no we don't all have days like that! When's the last time you took a nose dive into a squirrel? I doubt it was yesterday or the day before OR the one before that." Coolpaw's words were sour and defensive but his voice was more relaxed. Almost amused. Being a non-clanborn orphan gave him a low position in life but he spent all his time trying to improve that. That being said, being a clumsy kit wasn't going to help him any.
