Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

With the switch to proboards and Flyingcolors becoming the new medicine cat of Dayclan, we are now in need of a new medicine cat apprentice! This tryout will go until November 27th at the very least, but it may be extended depending on how many applicants we receive. There are a few expectations and components I am looking for this time around:
activity, especially with the forum switch we really need to increase our activity and encourage others to join us! You will be expected to stay active while you are mca or you may be replaced. I would say at least 5 replies a week excluding special circumstances.
creativity, I love creative cats, stories, and role-plays as they add an entire new layer and element to the entire experience. The beautiful thing about creativity is it is so diverse and there is no right or wrong answer.
training, you will be expected to reply to a training thread just like any other apprentice because why I not. I like it for immersion.
I prefer kits under 6 moons and under, however if you are trying out with a current apprentice it will not negatively impact your application and they will be considered equally.
application format:
name (suffix) -- username -- biography -- (at least 5 sentences)
direct link to picture --
answer at least 2 of the following (you may answer all if you so choose, I won't stop you and it won't inherently negatively impact you)
who is your favorite medicine cat and why? (that you have roleplayed or from the books. Don't drag other people or their characters.) what would you like to contribute to dayclan as a mca? pick any of these omens and give it an interpretation, be creative, no right or wrong answers. (optional) roleplay sample of any cat if you have one }} (it doesn't necessarily have to be of the cat you're trying out with, I'm merely curious)
Vixenkit/paw(dew) Hollypaw A tiny ginger she-cat with brilliant, ice, blue eyes. There's little white fluffs circling her hindpaws. She is deaf. Born a normal kit in a DayClan litter, she could hear just fine, up until one day when she was almost four moons old when she fell ill. As she was recovering from the sickness, she started learning the ways of a medicine cat. By the time the she recovered, just a moon later, she couldn't hear a thing and was forced (at least, in her own mind) to give up dreams of being a Warrior. While it was still a path for her to choose, she realized she was very good at memorizing herbs and their uses. She knew either path would be a difficult one, but eventually set her sights on being a Medicine Cat. After her mind was made up, she decided to spend more time in the Medicine Cat's den instead of trying to keep up with her littermaters and the other kits. When it was nearing the time for her to become an apprentice, she asked if she could learn herbs instead of fighting. While she wasn't good at reading lips or body languages, she had gotten better at the later and what excited when she was told that she could. link
Fav MC: Rosedestiny. She was my very first crippled character that I played on Wcc2 and she taught to me to be a better writer, due to the fact that I had to write what she heard and not what she saw and still try to get the point across. I think that's why I decided to make Vixen deaf but not by birth. I wanted a chance to do what I should've done with Frozenpetal and learn how to write someone deaf and still trying to figure out the world without hearing instead of like Petalfrost, who was born deaf and grew up having to make up for her disability by feeling what was around her instead of hearing it. I just think it would be a great experience for me, as a writer, to figure out how my character would react to everything moving on without her a feeling behind on everything.
Prophecy: Geological/weather event - Earthquake: It wouldn't mean an actually earth-shake was coming, but more along the lines of something coming to shake the clan to it's core and leave destruction in it's path. It could also be that it was coming to shake the receivers world (like the murder of their whole family).
biography -- He’s lucky to have been born to a DayClan cat, one of the few Clans that would’ve welcomed him and his heritage with open paws. He’s not as lucky to have been born to the specific DayClan cat that he calls father. Strict and viciously loyal to the warrior code despite everything, the half-kittypet spawn he could call kin was an embarrassment. His father didn’t mean to fall for a kittypet, curiosity and foolish youth driving him to the Twolegplace again and again as he fell for a pretty Japanese Bobtail. It was only when she announced her pregnancy that he, obviously, was the father of that he realized he needed to stop. He convinced himself that his Clan wouldn't accept this half-blooded spawn, didn’t want his Clan to accept them, so he stopped visiting her. She gave birth to a trio of kits and, though her heart ached at her love’s absence, she loved her kits with everything she had. This is where Whitehawk came in. He was given the name Magic at birth with a brother named Houdini and a sister named Mischief. They were happy together for a while, but one day a strange Twoleg came with an unusual box. Dull green leaves were passed from one Twoleg to another and within minutes Mischief was gone. Magic and Houdini panicked, wondering where their sister had gone. Their mother eventually explained this was normal for kittypets, though she obviously was hurt by her daughter’s disappearance. She had hoped her kits would be different, that she’d be allowed to raise her precious children. All she had left of her love. Within a few days Houdini was the next to be taken. All that was left was her precious Magic. She decided she wanted to choose this kit’s fate. She wanted one of her children to follow in their father’s pawsteps, so in the middle of the night she found a pane of ice cracked open a fraction too wide and she slipped out, her little son following in her pawsteps. Magic tried to question what was going on, but his mother quieted him every time he spoke up. They needed to be silent if they wanted to get away. She followed the route she half-remembered from her love’s visits, vague directions that ultimately left her lost and wandering. Magic complained of the hunger hollowing both cats’ bellies. Eventually the complaints stopped, the young kit too weary and hungry to bother voicing either any more. She did everything she could to protect him and keep him strong enough to continue going, but she had no experience in the wild. Surviving off scraps and crowfood, she was the first to succumb, giving everything to her precious son. He was left with little more than names, the name of his father and the Clan he claimed to be a part of. Somehow their aimless wandering led them close to DayClan, and after several days of surviving on the bare minimum, hardly a sunrise after his mother passed, he collapsed on the border. Clan cats found him, nursing him back to health as he blearily repeated the name of one of their own with no other context. It took him a while to recover, but when he eventually did he revealed how he knew the name. He was scorned by his father who had already began to suspect their relationship, the black-masked tomkit with his dark too-short tail achingly similar to his former love, but the majority decided to let him into their numbers. They couldn’t exactly send the orphaned kitten away, especially when half his blood came from this place, and so he joined as Whitekit. He spent the rest of his early moons in the nursery, learning the ways of the Clan through his incessant questions and insatiable curiosity. Everything had a solution to him no matter how impossible it seemed, and he would not rest until he found it. Mismatched eyes, one dull yellow and the other ice blue, often had an analytical glint in their depths, always searching for something else to learn about and figure out. Rest was for those who found the answers. Or those who were told by the queens that it was time to rest. He was a pretty manipulative kit as well. He would twist cats to sympathize with him, a task not too difficult with his background of a lost mother and uncaring father, though it was rarely entirely intentional. He would often get his way through this, though he tried not to let his way be malicious towards others. Only little things, like begging to be allowed to join in on a game or asking to be allowed just one piece of that juicy prey his denmate had claimed. He didn’t see any harm in it and never saw reason to abandon this habit even as he reached the age of an apprentice. He was hesitant to become a warrior, scared of the prospect of fighting another cat and risking life and limb every day for the Clan. He had never done well in kitten play-fights, never quite possessing the same eager enthusiasm in a game of mossball as his denmates that might indicate a good hunter. He wasn’t suited to being a warrior, but with a little bit of twisting and a lot of endless questions towards Flyingcolors, he found a different calling. That of a medicine cat. At first he was uncertain around the sometimes brutal injuries that would pass through the medicine den, but he eventually fell into the rhythm, his incessant curiosity and drive to find the answer to every problem aiding him as he learned to become a medicine cat as skilled as his mentor. It doesn’t bother him the few cats, his father among them, that may doubt the wisdom in taking on a half-kittypet as the future medicine cat. His blood doesn't effect his ability to mend wounds, doesn't hamper his empathy towards others and his knowledge of how to heal. He could never scorn the kittypet mother that gave her life so he could live the life of a Clan cat.
what would you like to contribute to dayclan as a mca? -- Ever since I decided to place my spur-of-the-moment adventure cat, Trailpaw, in DayClan, I've been in love. There's been so much thought and effort put into this Clan, and as mca I want to contribute to it in any way I can. Of course there's activity to contribute, but past that I could help with the generation of plot ideas and such. There's also the potential for stories/conflict with cats through Whitepaw's history, since he's half-kittypet with a father that has all but disowned him.
pick any of these omens and give it an interpretation --a flickering sun is seen in the sky; This sign could be interpreted in multiple ways. During the current plot, it could be a sign of hope, that SunClan's power will falter with the sun representing them due to the shared name. Assuming this is meant as the apprentice interpreting this, Whitepaw would likely believe that it's a sign that DayClan will be freed from SunClan during this falter. That DayClan won't have to be prisoners to their neighbor for much longer. Under any other circumstance, though, it could mean that DayClan is at risk with the sun instead representing them, since day is brought on by the sun. The Clan will be facing the risk of falling apart in the near future, perhaps to the point of almost dissolving as a Clan, but ultimately they will stay together as the sun only flickered and didn't stay dark.
