Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Rabbitfolly deserved to be mentor, of that he was certain. But to be mentoring Polarpaw, that was a concern for him. Because, Polarpaw was a kit of Stormsurge. The she-cat was notably strict, intimidating, and expected the very best for her favorite kit. Rabbitfolly was expected to deliver such perfection. He knew, of course, that Stormsurge would have preferred to mentor Polarpaw herself, but it wasn't allowed.
But, Stormsurge was indeed waiting for him as he approached Polarpaw after the ceremony. Her long dark grey fur was sleek and her tail wrapped tightly around her paws. She looked like stone to him. When he was within hearing range the she-cat stood, "Rabbitfolly, I've got some things to brief you on before returning to the nursery. Of course, you noticed, that Polarpaw had been promoted while my other kits must wait another moon. This is because I felt that Polarpaw alone was ready to be a student. I expect you to train him hard and to involve me in the process, yes?"
Rabbitfolly nodded, "of course, Stormsurge. We'll start right away." That seemed to satisfy her and she turned to her son and said, stiffly but with a hint of genuine warmth, "be safe, be brave, and make me proud. I'll see you tonight." She turned and disappeared into the nursery, leaving Rabbitfolly with his student, "okay, you ready Polarpaw?"
