LITTLESTAR
SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
Littlestar looked out over SunClan's camp, knowing that it was time for the Sun God to choose his next chosen priest or priestess to follow in her footsteps. It had been a moon since Foxstar had stepped down, and became the senator known as Foxbane. She had waited until she received her nine lives and settled into her position as the high priestess, but the sooner she had a successor, the faster her own position would be secured. She had asked the Soothsayer, Autumngossamer, to hold the ceremony at midday today while the sun was at it's highest point
" Children of the Sun, the High Priestess desires your presence below the High Rock"
Autumngossamer walked up next to Littlestar and in the moment for the first time everything felt right, like they were meant to be a team. She was only promoted to Soothsayer a little earlier than Littlestar, it felt like they were going to go on this journey together. She held her head up high, her brown gaze held such a judgment that it could send shivers down the backs of every cat in her line of vision. But within her gaze she saw Lovesmitten, maybe she should be nicer, she wasn't sure if he ever saw her "mean girl" side of her. Recollecting her thoughts away from her mate she addressed the clan and repeated the words so many soothsayers had said before her, "Cats of SunClan, the day has come for our Great Protector to choose his new servants. For what we currently lack, he will provide. As you all know, we are in need for a Priest Promised and a Janus. Some of our sharpest minds and strongest paws have been chosen to serve the Sun, and have nominated those who they believe to be worthy in their own right for future leadership. Let us not forget, however, that all in the clan are subject to consideration, for it is our mighty ruler who decides all. Janus, please step forward from the crowd with your nominee, so that your hearts and commitment may be judged."
Bloodypaw seethed with envy as the Janus and their promised approached High Rock. His eyes particularly burned as he watched his brother, Nocturnesymphony, take his place. While Nocturnesymphony abandoned SunClan and was running amok without a care, Bloodypaw was working hard to please the Sun God and prove his worth to his Clan. He was eager to fill the vacant Janus position when it opened up... but then his brother returned and took it from him. It was the first and only time the ginger tom had ever doubted his God's decision. Yet, his faith did not waver, if anything his brother's promotion made him work harder to prove his strength and dedication. Not hard enough to be chosen as a Janus nominee, though..
He gave his chests a few nervous strokes, the pleasant taste of iron still clinging to his tongue. Bloodypaw had caught word that the Priest Promised was to be chosen today and had spent much of the morning donning an intricate design in body paint. It was focused mainly on his face and front paws, but also flowed down his right flank asymmetrically. Strokes reminiscent of the sun's rays interweaved with his own tabby stripes in a color more amber than the customary apprentice orange. Bloodypaw frequently mixed his body paint with blood so it would show up more strongly against his already orange pelt, but today he pushed the limit; it was noticeable. He hoped the Sun God would notice. While uncommon, as Aumtumngosser had said, the Sun God has chosen the Priest Promised from cats who were not Janus in the past.

LITTLESTAR
SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
Littlestar watched over the proceedings, allowing Autumngossamer to take the lead. While she was the leader of the clan, the Soothsayer was over this ceremony. SHe couldn't help but wonder if the Sun God would pick a promised for her this day. They also needed a soothsayer promised and a Janus, but that decision rested with the Sun God. He would pick his chosen on his own time, and even she couldn't rush him. Not that she hadn't tried. She needed to cement her place within the clan, before Foxbane tried anything to undermine her.
