Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.

Marquess Marquess are cats who have proven unmatched dedication to the Sovereign and Crowned. Marquess are chosen from soldiers to become the personal assistants to the Reigned. There are only ever six Marquess, three for the Sovereign and three for the Crowned, trained carefully in political science and diplomacy as they become surrogates for their respected Reigned. The Marquess are most often where the Sovereign picks their Crowned from as they are usually the most loyal to the Clan. They are usually introduced in reference of their Reigned, ex. Thundersnow, Marquess of Diamondstar. Marquess do not go on patrols unless going to another Clan or territory and are always accompanied by at least two Knights or Dames and their Squires. Marquess usually travel alone with their guards, however they will travel in pairs on important missions- one for the Sovereign and one for the Crowned.
Knights The Knights had many names throughout WinterClan history, most notably Frozen and Shards. The head protectors of the Clan, Knights are elite warriors trained in many different facets. War, leadership, and diplomacy are just to name a few. While not as trained in political science as Marquess, Knights are the leaders of patrols and prison guards- so they are often the first and only impression outsiders have of WinterClan. Once a group of select few chosen from the most advanced soldiers, Knights have now become a plentiful rank. Chosen as students who excelled in their basic training, they become Squires and are trained under a specific Knight until they reach promotion age. Knights are given an epithet during their promotion that highlights their strengths or accomplishments from their training or personality, ex. Eveningmemory the Proud.
Preferred position: knight Username: Jetclaw Why you'd fit the position: My character Crimsonrose has served as a Frozen, Shard and a Knight, I would like for her to have the position again under this regime Activity level: on site about a 7 clan: low admittedly but that's hopefully going to change What things do you see with the position: I'd like to see something that prompts the creation of the Knights. Maybe a Knights of the round kind of thing going on, since we have Knights after all. Maybe a code of honor. Maybe the position is more restrictive and they're held to a pretty high standard and when they fall there are severe punishments. Cat name & bio: CRIMSONROSE - JETCLAW Bound to former leader Leatherstar through the warrior bond they forged when he led WinterClan before, this massive ginger she cat has returned once more to the ranks of WinterClan... though she occasionally takes advantage of a position in MoonClan to keep an eye on SunClan and her daughter Mysterypaw who lives in DayClan now. But her duty had called her to WinterClan once more. After all she knows the wintry clan won't fail to keep things interesting, and she's ready to fight to see the clan through, and hopefully she'll encounter some exciting combatants as well. She is a large and intimidating ginger she cat, a former hunter of Primal Instinct, the former Frozen/Shattered to Leatherstar, his guardian and protector in times of need, a former knight of the old guard of WinterClan, and now a warrior of MoonClan and primarily a Soldier of WinterClan. She has accumulated as many titles as she has scars almost. And she bears all with a head held high and burning amber eyes looking ahead to the battles that may lie ahead. Even with Leatherstar no longer leading, she's sympathetic to Wintrystar's plight, and is happy to offer her aide... as leading can be turmultuous at times.
Preferred position: knight Username: Spottedleaffan21 Why you'd fit the position: my cat Frostcloud used to be a keeper when Abberantfox was leader. She was the most efficient hunter and in charge of all hunters. She was also in charge of making sure the apprentices were being trained properly in hunting. She's rough around the edges and would make a great knight! Activity level: recently it's been a little low due to a lot going on but now that things are slowing down, my activity will be increasing. My normal activity usually ranges between a 7 and a 9. What things do you see with the position: honestly, I totally love Jetclaw's idea!! It would be super cool to have a knight of the round going on! Cat name & bio: FROSTCLOUD - SPOTTEDLEAFFAN21 If there was an ice warrior princess, Frostcloud would be the very painted picture of what one would look like. Pure snowy white fur, gray ears, crystal blue eyes that seem to cut straight through to one's very soul, and a very elegant disposition. However, looking like an angel sent directly down from heaven, she is a little rough around the edges. More like an icecyle. Beautiful to look at, but dangerously edgy. She is highly skilled in battle with sharp crisp movements and great reflexes. One would be smart not to challenge such a driven She-cat. Cats often flinch at the coldness of her gaze and as threatening as she may look, her respect for her leader is high. She is considered a soldier that knows how to take orders and do them well. She is very trustworthy and honest. A perfect soldier with fierce loyalty.
Preferred position: Knight Username: Consuela Why you'd fit the position: My tom Lionwhisper, is a rather large cat with great strength. He is clan born and has been around the system since kithood. After the tragic death of his parents by a rouge attack, he has strived to be one of the strongest to ensure that those events don't repeat themselves in Winterclan. He is rather quiet, which is why I feel he would be best suited for Knight instead of Marquess. Despite being rather private and shy, when put to work, he is ambitious and hard-working. Activity level: Pretty good since I returned from my Hiatus! :3 What things do you see with the position: I would love to see the Knights take a bit more responsibilities such as actually leading the patrols and prison guards. The users who actually land this position should contribute weekly and open thread for either a Hunting Patrol, Border Patrol or even Prison Guard Rounds. It would give the user a purpose as a position rather than just a Role-Player title plus its a great way to keep activity going in Winterclan! Cat name & bio: LIONWHISPER A long-haired ginger tom with piercing amber eyes. His statue is tall and his frame rather large and well built under mountains of tousled ginger locks that only amplify his already large person. Despite the intimidatingly large frame, he is quiet and gentle, highly conscious of his strength and power. He is rather quiet and soft spoken for a tom and rather observe than be in the spotlight. Though he is rather shy and reserved, once he has opened up to you, he can be talkative, always having something to talk about such as his own dreams of being a great Soldier. He is quietly ambitious, always aiming to hit his goals and do the best of his abilities to help his clan making him one of the loyalest Soldier Winterclan has seen. He has very little close friends, but his closest easily is his own sister, Foxleap whom he cares for dearly. The two grew especially close after the death of their parents from a rouge attack when they were just apprentices. After that, the two were left orphans having no one else but each other to depend on for some time. That tragic event became a catalyst for Canarywhisper who now pushes himself to be better, not only for his own sake, but for his sister and his clan.
Preferred position: marquess Username: lavellan Why you'd fit the position: Viktorygold was once apart of the Brookclan monarchy (aka: viktor, the next in line to the throne), and so he knows plenty about diplomacy and political science. he definitely loves talking to others, and is still trying to prove to himself that he's strong enough to save his sister and brother (who he doesn't know is actually dead rip) Activity level: on site about a 7, in clan... rip about like a 2 currently What things do you see with the position: honestly it could be fun if they helped handle internal affairs, like secretly testing prisoners and stuff. idk i'll add more ideas later Cat name & bio: VIKTORYGOLD A prince on the run. A pair of mismatched eyes. A mysterious background that he rarely ever speaks of. Viktorygold is a cat that you wouldn’t expect to have secrets, as he will spout anything that comes to mind. Often aloof, but very polite, and a natural flirt, whether he means to be or not, Viktorygold is a cat that is rather easy to get along with. He is always pushing himself to do his best, though he does everything else at his own pace, and is normally rather easy-going and free-spirited. In reality, this cat is none other than Viktor, the son of Aiden, who helped turn Brookclan into the monarchy it was known to be before the flood. He was supposed to be the heir to the throne, but turned it down, passing it to his sister, Anastasia. Then, his brother, Rasputin, had arranged for the assassination of Anastasia. The plot had failed in taking her life, but it resulted in his father’s death, and Viktor being chased out of Brookclan with a target above his head. He knew his siblings would think he had died in the plot, and maybe that was for the best. If he stayed hidden, he could stay alive. If he could stay alive, he could find a way to save Anastasia and his other brother, Sasha. If he could stay hidden. After all, there had to be plenty of black and white toms in the clans, right? Even if he did have unique eyes; the left eye being blue, and the right green.
Preferred position: marquess Username: ian Why you'd fit the position: political positions are super fun. we love bringing our irl specialties to a cat site LOL. i have experience in the position from back in the day under zuno, and i wish i could have nejoyed it a lot more than i did before i stepped down. more about why liminal would be good is below. c: Activity level: on site and clan (if in the clan otherwise don’t worry about it) currently, she's one of my only cats. i'm still trying to get back into the swing of classic, but once i do, i tend to have high activity c: What things do you see with the position: such as role play ideas, plot thoughts, etc. honestly, i think liminalgold is just a super interesting cat to have in the position. she's completely unlike my last marquess, and on the surface, seems to be aloyal. i think it would be super interesting to have her in the position because of that- other cats would probably be like ? at her promotion, which could create a ton of drama with other cats. i also think it there's room for a really deep connection btwn her and her reigned, because of the "i don't really care about most things, but i care deeply about you" thing she's got goin' on. she can be so seemignly lasidasical, and i think that would just make her fun honestly. i also think that there could be some tension within the marquess rank, too, as she'd pretty obviously the plack sheep of the rank. but, who doesn't love a black sheep who's surprisingly adept at her job ? Cat name & bio: LIMINALGOLD Liminal [adj] of, relating to, or being an intermediate state, phase, or condition; in between, transitional. What a perfect name for the feline whose loyalties swing for those she does not deeply respect and who enjoys the borders between here and there. She finds them exciting, the same way that it is exciting to stand on the edge of a mountain top and hope you don't stagger over. The liminal spaces of reality are the dangerous ones, after all, especially when you reside in a group that believes that blood runs thicker than water. Liminalgold is a large white she-cat, one of standard WinterClan build. It's strange, then, that her temperament leaves her blurring the lines of what is acceptable for a WinterClan cat. Her eyes, like her name sake, are a deep golden. A true Aquarius, she is a cat who constantly seeks mental stimulation, which is, in part, why she shows interest in the political. Most other things, other than the inner workings of her clanmate's lives, tend to bore her. Often overtly critical, she has a tendency to border on the lazier side of things. This doesn't mean that she doesn't get what she needs done done, it just means that she can be a bit slower to start on tasks. Liminalgold can be quite sarcastic, and it's hard to tell whether or not you're on her good side. Uniquely stubborn, she likes to think three steps ahead.
Preferred position: marquess Username: Dreamrain Why you'd fit the position: I fit the position because I original once was a marquess when they first came out so I have experience with the position and the set up of Winterclan. Also I would love to use that position to maybe help develop plots between Winterclan and Summerclan. Maybe making them into some sort of rivals like Sunclan/Moonclan Activity level: it’s been low in both honestly because I just started Winter Break after a stressful college semester. What things do you see with the position: I loved being a marquess before and I think it would be interesting position wise if Icyhaven was working with his sister. There could be many interesting plots birthed from that. Something along the lines of certain members not agreeing with Icyhaven being a marquess or believing he got chosen only because of who his sister was. Cat name & bio: Icyhaven Bio is on page
pPreferred position: Marquess Username: -Wilderness. Why you'd fit the position: I'm going to be honest and admit that trying out for this position is sort of a long shot because I'm so new, but I'm really looking to keep limited but characters that I can be really active. I'd really be devoting a lot of time to Winterclan because this would be one of my main roleplaying locations on the site, and I like to think I can bring a lot of new and creative ideas to the position. Activity level: I'm new, but right now I plan to be around a 5 or 6 activity wise on the site overall. What things do you see with the position: Since the Marquess are implied to work in foreign affairs, I think they could work as cool bridge connectors in plots. Like for example they could almost act as semi-spies or reasons why Winterclan knows secretive or deeper information on another clan. I mean the real world implications are that you have active people already to be called upon for a plot device, but in role-play it could be incredibly engaging and add depth to Winterclan. I also think having little rp sessions between the guards and either their Crowned or Sovereign (whoever they serve) would be fun, and maybe even the three Marquess for the Crowned and the three for the Sovereign could have a friendly (or not so friendly) rivalry. Cat name & bio: (She's inevitably going to end up on the Winterclan page bc I'm adding her whether I get the position or not, but I thought I'd post the bio on here first anyways.) FROSTINGCHARM In places where survival becomes paramount to everything else, the inevitable paradigm becomes adapt, or die. The values which guides one to their ultimate destiny becomes not that of their own choice, but that of striving for the end goal of merely surviving. This of course is the natural state of all creatures, where nature is oppressive to all living things, and deprives as often as it provides. Leisure, reflection, goals beyond merely living for life itself are therefore the inevitable by-products of safety, stability, and normalcy, and these, typically, only achieved through community and structure. In this way the ultimate goal of survival is distorted, and given the amount of stability, safety, and normalcy a community can provide allows the community and the individual to work at least partially free to forge their own destiny. The state of most clans reflects this, for while threat of war looms just a border away, and the colder months threaten the lives of clans cats in a number of ways, the general rule is that of relative prosperity. Winterclan, by contrast, is an oppressive outlier. Pale pelts mean the difference between a hunt lost and food gained, long fur the line between being claimed by hypothermia on a nighttime hunt or living to see another day. It stretches past mere genetic factors too, for a misstep on thin ice or the wrong step near a cliff edge is a matter of wisdom, and yet no less a matter of life or death. In the harshness of their wintery landscape, conformity and a knack for keeping one's self alive holds more weight than perhaps anywhere else, and it is not a fact lost on Frostingcharm. Nor, perhaps, is it one that really bothers her. In some ways she was blessed with the luxury of "fitting in", in so far as her looks tend to blend into every stereotype of a Winterclan cat ever conceived. Long, thick white fur and a sturdy build perfectly designed for their mountainous landscape, with two pairs of perfect blue eyes to match her frosty aesthetic. From there, a good mix of nature and nurture formed a cat that seems to work perfectly within the system she was handed. A perfectionist, a detail-thinker, charismatic in the sort of way that only living under the endless smoky brew of snow-heavy sky and being walled by the brooding muted emerald of pine trees can create. There is a bravado to her that is both as illusionary as it is real, and a sharpness that holds a posh sort of charm to it. She is a creature indisputably made for the ice, because the ice made her.
