Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Wintryaosis would soon be leaving to receive her nine lives, but for the time being the Sovereign lounged around in the middle of camp. Storms had blown through last night. Nothing too strong nor a blizzard, which she was thankful for but still enough to make its presence known. It left a fresh dusting of snow all over camp and would require plenty of paws to help move. But it was a task for after breakfast. Besides, it'd give the kits a little longer to enjoy the fresh, unshoveled snowpatches. Snow was always more fun that way, or at least kits thought so.
A pair of dull green eyes scanned the pure white terrain ahead with moderate interest. It was early, chilly morning, earlier than anticipated for the rather small long-haired kit, but it was no surprise. It was the third day the kit had found herself waking up earlier than her litter-mates. It could have been because the last few nights brought in chilly winds, or the fact that she was a early bird herself, but in her heart of hearts she knew there was another reason, but she didn't want to admit it out loud, let alone in her head.
The kit looked at the powdery white floor with basic interest, but it was the sight of a familiar figure laying in the middle of camp that took up most of her reaction and attention. She watched from a distance as the newly appointed leader sat quietly to herself. It was unlike her, but something in Frozenkit urged her forward, her curiosity getting the best of her and she began her trek towards the leader. Though the depth of the snow was small, the fresh layer made it a bit difficult for the kit to walk through, slowing down her pace immensely as she maneuvered her way over.

Unlike the rest of Winterclan, the soldier Designerdarling just stared out at the snow with indifference. A part of her felt she ought to be more grateful for it. It was the one thing keeping her separated from her old life. But the auburn she-cat continued to have a hard time in the clan because of it. It made everything harder, she wondered if it was even worth it. She left the security of the large den, warmth seeping out of her paws as she walked.
Wintryoasis spotted a youth coming her way, curious as to which of the bunch it was, but not willing to move to find out, she just watched. Part of her wondered what the kit would do, while the other part didn't care. The she-cat wasn't truly sure what to do with the young ones besides sending them back to their mothers. Movement to the side of her caught her attention. Another cat, one older, clearly not a kit come to enjoy the snow. Designerdarling. "Good morning." Her tone seemed emotionless, her eyes strayed from the youth long enough to give her welcoming before returning to the other approaching figure.
Having been so focused on her task ahead, Frozenkit did not realized the deputy had acknowledge her until she spoke up, causing the small she-cat to look up, offering a small smile "Good morning!" Frozenkit spoke up as she made it up to the Crowned, her pale green eyes following the Wintryoasis's own line of vision to see Designerdarling just tail lengths away. "Oh! Good morning Designerdarling" The kit offered politely, her eyes lingering a moment longer before going back to the Crowned. "Is it true you are going today to get your nine lives?" The she-cat asked inquisitively, disregarding the ill manner of being blunt, her curiosity outweighing her common sense as she sat down comfortably at the she-cat's side, watching her with immense interest.
Wintryoasis wouldn't be the Crowned for much longer. "Yes, tomorrow morning. We'll be leaving before the sun is up." Her eyes watched the kit, a little bit of amusement blending into her blunt, straight-to-the-point words. She shifted in her place to better face the kit, giving her full attention to the one who asked for it. The youth are the future of the clan and thus she'd humor them as much as any soldier should.
"Oh." Frozenkit meowed, in slight awe as her gaze fell back down to the powdery floor below her paws before bouncing back up. "Are you scared?" She asked, pressing on as more questions popped into her curious head "I heard from some of the Students that you get possessed by spirits when the new Sovereign gets their new lives, do you think it's going to hurt?"

"Morning Wintryoasis." Designerdarling offered the deputy dryly, nothing aggressive or demeaning. It was just the way she spoke. There wasn't much else to do and Designerdarling wasn't looking forward to leaving the "warmth" of camp. She gave Frozenkit a swift nod as she settled down and began asking Wintryoasis all sorts of questions. Really, she didn't know much about getting lives or about the Students and the Sovereign. "It might, though I'm sure our new Sovereign can handle it, right?"
Wintryoasis nodded to both cats. "Yes, I have heard the rumors as well. I can make no truth to them as no one of past has talked about their visits to receive their lives. Part of me believes it is forbidden, another that, the ancients do not wish the next to lead to be too scared to venture to the pool." She rolled over, giving her full attention to the two before her, paws crossed over one another as she laid upon the ground. "In the case of pain though, I believe I shall be able to handle it as Designerdarling has said. Do you doubt me, Frozenkit?"
Frozenkit blinked up at the leader in quiet curiosity, but flinched as she was put on the spot. The leader to be was much more intimidating to the small kit who stared up with wide pale green orbs. "Oh no I don't!" She meowed, her tone rising slightly in a moment of panic "You are one of Winterclan's best warriors! If anyone can do it, its you!"
"Thank you, Frozenkit." Turning her attention to her warrior, the leader offered the spot beside her. "What's new with you Designerdarling? I'm sure you have some story you could entertain Frozenkit and I with?" Making herself approachable was something her uncle had reminded her that she needs to as the leader of the clan. If cats were to respect and follow her lead then they needed to know about the cat they were following, and thus conversations must be made. Even if she wasn't a conversational cat. Wintryoasis's uncle Harlow may never have been a leader but Asbum Lux worked as a group where cats knew how the clans worked and knew how persuade others to listen to them. A little deceitful in times and murders in others, but the teachings of Asbum Lux were her history as well with her father and uncle both being from there. Though her father was no longer apart of the clan and her uncle was lying low within the mist of the clancats.

"Surely nothing suited to a kit's ears." Designerdarling settled down next to Wintryoasis, looking between the leader and kit, "Just that Pineskid is talking to yet another Fallclan warrior. Can you believe it? I thought that last girl would have warned them about him." The once outsider wasn't one to talk, but she was the town gossip for a reason.
"Oh? Is that so? This is news to me. Have you heard of this Frozenkit?" Gossip wasn't normally something for a kit should listen to, but intell was an important part of being a warrior. This was merely one way to learn that trait. Wintryoasis settled in, ready to hear the gossip of the clan. Talks like this helped her know the ongoings of her clan but also let her know if her own family secret was on the verge of being found out. Only three cats knew the truth, and she wasn't even sure if the third was still alive.

"Wintryoasis. I didn't take you for the type to enjoy things like this." Designerdarling was town gossip more for her own benefit than anyone elses. You spread something about her, she'll know. And most anything else. It let her feel like she held all the cards in a situation, even if she wasn't the strongest or smartest. Sometimes, you needed to use what came easiest to you. "I'm sure your aware of Pineskid's other goings. He has a hard time keeping things up here, I guess. Ashenmoon saw him pacing the border the other day, just waiting for some single patrolee to come by that he could harass."
"It's good to the ongoings of one's clan." Wintrystar listened with half a mind, the other part already plotting how best to punish Pineskid. To think this cat would dare do such a thing under her watch was appalling. "And did he? Find someone to harass that is?" Her tail twitched in aggravation, but her face showed nothing as was common with her. Wintrystar had perfected that look moons ago when she was an apprentice and her Uncle Harlow had chosen to teacher skills he'd learned in Absum Lux.

"Well, of course. I'm afraid the gossip wouldn't exist if it ended well though." A double edge to her now trade. The worse it was, the better. Designerdarling herself didn't mind slandering her clanmates names, even if it was in poor taste. "Though the one that came was this huge she-cat. Heard her name was Mahoganycrown. Didn't take any of Pineskid's talk though." She laughed a little before continuing, eyes narrowing, "Pineskid is lucky he got away from her with only a few injuries. From the way Ashenmoon spoke of it, that Fallclan cat was pretty savage. Nice to know someone put him in his place at least. Now whether he learns his lesson? I'm not sure."
