It was such a beautiful day, even with the looming threat of cold on the horizon, the flowers were still thriving not quite ready to wilt and Tulipkit was more than happy that they were pushing through with such determination. The tortoiseshell kit would be sad when she could no longer look at their colorful petals, the thought of having to wait so long before they would be back pained her but that was life. As she walked through camp with her head in the clouds she failed to see the rock in front of her until it was too late and she fell forward, a dull thump echoing out as she landed face first on the ground. "Ow..."

"That's bound to hurt," a gruff voice sounded from behind Tulipkit. Graythorn came forward and stooped down to the kit's level. "I'll tell you a secret little one, the ground always wins in those kinds of battles so don't keep attacking it."

Tulipkit looked up at the warrior with a sheepish smile before getting to her paws. "You never know, I may win one day." She let out an embarrassed chuckle and shuffled her paws on the ground. "Are you the only one who saw that?" She asked after shaking the dirt from her tortoiseshell coat.

"I did too," came a chuckle from behind Tulipkit. A young black warrior strode forward wearing an amused smile on her face. "But I wouldn't worry too much," Pantherclaw meowed. "I can remember a period of time when stumbling over my paws was common place. But I eventually grew out of it as you undoubtedly will do as well."

She turned her head to see the owner of the new voice and smiled. "Hello, Pantherclaw." She greeted. "I hope I grow out of it, it really isn't much fun." She giggled as she spoke, and suddenly excitement filled her eyes. "Can we go on an adventure? The flowers will wilt soon and I really want to go out and see them before they are gone!" There was a hopeful gleam dancing in her green eyes as they moved between the two warriors, like the late leader of Summerclan and her father, Tulipkit had a string connection and fascination to plants and flowers.

"So you're interested in flowers?" Graythorn meowed. "Maybe you should consider becoming a garden keeper when you grow up. I could use more help tending to the herbs I so desperately need. But," he continued. "As for you leaving the camp while you're still a kit, it's is an absolute no. If you want to see some flowers, come over to my den. I just brought in some marigolds and tansy." He waved his tail over toward the medicine den.
Pantherclaw nodded in agreement. "My brother's right. You don't want to get into any trouble now do you?" She looked around and lowered her voice. "I sneaked out of camp once when I was a kit and I was almost held back from becoming an apprentice for a whole moon. I worked so hard at being good - which wasn't easy - so much so that they relented."

Tulipkit slumped down a little when Graythorn told her no, surely she would be safe with the two warriors by her side. She didn't perk back up until he mentioned having flowers in his den, it was better than nothing and it made her happy that he would share what he had with her. "I would love to see them!" She purred with bright eyes.
As she turned in a circle waiting for him to lead the way, Pantherclaws words reached her ears. "They almost held you back?! They can do that?" There was disbelief in her voice. "I dont wanna be a kit forever."

Graythorn smiled at the eager kit. If he didn't already have an apprentice he might have considered her. But be as it may, the first two apprentices he had, had died. He would keep an on this Tulipkit. "Come with me," he meowed.
"Yes, they can hold you back if you've been bad," the black she cat replied. "I really wasn't the model kit in the nursery back then so I had those strikes against me as well. Like I said, I had to work hard to make up for sneaking out. But in the end I made it." She ruffled Tulipkit's head fur. "But you're a good kit. You shouldn't worry as long as you don't break any rules."

"I wont break any rules, I promise! And I'll work super hard." She danced around the warriors for a moment and then stopped, her eyes landing on Greythorn. "Can I see your flowers now?" She chirped.

"Sure, come on," the gray tabby medicine cat meowed. He wasn't too enthused about this but he was trying to make an effort to be more likable rather than just being his accustomed grumpy self.
"That's good," Pantherclaw replied. "You're already off to a good start. You'll be an apprentice soon with that kind of attitude."
