The morning prayers had ended, and it was time for unseenpaw to meet her new mentor. The young she-cat wrapped her tail tightly around her paws, scenting the air in an attempt to isolate the unfamiliar scent. While she was adept at doing so, she didn't know Velvettouch all that well which made it more difficult. She could only hope that this mentor was better than her last, who had saw her only as a chance to further their own status. With a sigh, she gave up knowing that the she-cat would find her.

(sorry for the late reply! I've been really busy this past week. Finally got a break lol)
Velvettouch had been having a good week. And the fact that he was getting another apprentice made it even better. Of course he was so great at mentoring... Well, this was his second apprentice ever which was something to be very proud of indeed. That was what Velvettouch thought at least. His last apprentice had been a strange one, he could only hope his new wouldn't be so strange. He already had a strange feeling about this one though... the fact that his apprentice's name was Unseenpaw? Well, that was a strange name. But as his mother used to tell him: "Never judge a book by its cover."
Scenting the air, Velvettouch soon found his new apprentice at the edge of the main camp. With a wide smile, the persian tom made his way towards Unseenpaw. "Hello my dear!" He meowed, gracefully swiping his tail around the young apprentice. "You must be so delighted that your mentor is the amazing and stunning Velvettouch!" He beamed. Of course any cat would be delighted at the prospect of being mentored by Sir Velvettouch the amazing. How could they not?

(I love him already)
Unseenpaw flinched away from the older cat's touching, pulling away from the physical contact. She didn't know this cat, and found his familiarity rather uncomfortable. Not only that but the pressure across her shoulders irritated the hidden wounds underneath her long fur that her previous mentor had inflicted. "You can't be any worse than the last" she murmured softly, as she turned her piercing blue eyes onto the tom. Even though she couldn't see, her piercing blue eyes unnerved others by the way they seemed to look right through you. Between her eyes, and her parentage, most in the clan had avoided her.

(aw thanks!)
Velvettouch frowned at the small apprentice. Something didn't seem right about her but he couldn't quite put his paw on it. He knew she couldn't see but that didn't stop him having high hopes for her. Though he had to admit her name was kinda ironic. What evil parents she must have had had to name her such a thing! "Well, darling." He smiled. "I'm sure I'm 100% more wonderful then your last mentor!"

UNSEENPAW
THE RESERVED - SUNCLAN APPRENTICE
Instead of a response, Unseenpaw lowered her her head, half expecting a blow from her new mentor. The words he spoke made her believe she had said something wrong, leaving her waiting the punishment that no doubt awaited her.

Frowning, Velvettouch strutted up next to her. He found quiet cats slightly frustrating and hard to understand; he preferred cats who simply agreed to everything he said and perhaps added a couple of compliments into the mix as well. Coughing loudly, he glanced up at the annoyingly bright sun; he was not one for suns you see. "Well, hurry your pace up child!" He instructed, "I have a wonderful challenge for you." He smiled warmly. Now, challenges were something he LOVED.

UNSEENPAW
THE RESERVED - SUNCLAN APPRENTICE
Unseenpaw couldn't help it, her heart skipped a beat at the mention of a challenge "as you wish..." she added, but she did pick up the pace. While most apprentices would have been excited by the prospect, she seemed to shut down. What would it be this time? Seeing how long she could stand in the cold river until her limbs went numb and the water swept them out from under her? How many small cuts she could withstand before passing out? How many days she could go without eating? She had already faced all of those, and worse under her last mentor. She kept her eyes on the ground but forced herself to keep up with the older cat.
