Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
The Sun God meandered his way through the freshly fallen snow, divine warmth leaving paw prints in the deity's wake. An eventful few weeks. Pandora had faced her destiny, lived to tell the tale. Foxstar had mended things with Glowstar, in a way. And more even than that, they now found themselves with a new Priestess, the second one to exist, and the first to have actually been chosen by the Sun God himself. The fox-hearted feline who'd led now went by a much simpler name, Foxbane. A surprise, to be sure, but he'd heard her thoughts in the days since the 'apocalypse' and it was not actually to unexpected for him.
But Littlestar had questions, and he found himself pausing as her presence neared his.

SUNCLAN HIGH PRIESTESS
Of course she had questions, who didn't? The clan was confused, although rather happy with the recent turn of events. Littlestar had practically been ruling the clan since Foxstar's imprisonment, even after her return the clan had turned to her for leadership as the cat they once trusted to lead them descended into madness. Even then the Sun God hadn't acted to remove her from power, and instead told Littlestar to do whatever it took to help the previous priestess back into her right mind. When she had agreed, even she couldn't have imagined that it would take a full on war, a fire apocalypse, and almost killing herself to make it happen.... and for what?
What had all this been for? They had brought Foxstar back from the brink, but the clan had almost been destroyed in the process only for her to step down after it was over with. Littlestar should have been happy to finally have the title of High Priestess, but now the title tasted bitter in her mouth. It was a heavy burden to bear, a title that the other clans now viewed with disdain and fear of what it meant. She would have to change that.
Leaving her newborns with Skipstep, she felt her paws carrying her out camp seeking out the only one who could offer any sort answers, The Sun. It was almost as if she could feel his location, even though she couldn't see or hear him. It was like an invisible string connected the two, drawing her to where he dwelled. As he came into sight, he paws slowed to a stop eyes narrowing. Silence settled between them, unable to find the words to express her internal turmoil but knowing that he would understand all the same.

"You have questions, I understand?" His smile was soft and welcoming, and there was this silent understanding that his power backed hers, that each decision approved by him was law, plain and simple. She no longer had to worry about obeying Foxbane, and could shape the future of SunClan as she willed it, whether that meant she allowed criticism, or squashed it as her predecessor had. "Wondering why Foxbane's sanity needed to be restored if it was just going to get your clanmates killed, and she wasn't even going to stay Priestess afterwards?"
He met her narrowed eyes with a raise of his own brow, as if waiting for her to confirm what he already knew.

"You already know the answer to that" she dipped her head in acknowledgment "just as I know that your not going to give me a straight forward answer, and that whatever you say next will likely give me more questions than answers" she raised one eye in return, the two almost mirroring one another in their stance.
Even though she knew this, she still had to ask... to try to understand. The clan had been deeply hurt, and she had no explanation for them. Many still wondered why the Sun God had allowed all of this to go on for so long without doing anything, and as the high priestess it was her job to try to bridge the gap between her people and the sun god. To put his actions into words that they could understand. But she couldn't do that when even she couldn't grasp the purpose of all of this.

He chuckled. She did know his methods a touch too well, didn't she? "Foxbane has lived an interesting life, has she not? And she'd gotten herself some interesting punishments for her actions. Killing Crowluminescence and lying about those crows, was magnified ten fold back at her. Her failure to put anything above her anger cost her members of her clan, almost cost the DayClan leader her life. If I had simply stripped her of her title, abandoned her in her darkest hour, what then, Littlestar? What future would we have, if she had not regained her own sanity?" Would there even be a future, if Foxbane had allowed her anger to consume her entirely? Had let Bluejay tear both clans apart until they no longer existed? What would Bluejay and Pandora be, without having been calmed from their wrath? This was the way of things, and all this a necessary step.

"and yet, you still could have prevented all of this had you acted sooner. You could have found a way to stop this without making the clan suffer in the process" this wasn't the first time that she had questions his methods, nor would it be the last. "When my children act up, I don't punish the whole litter for the actions of an individual" he shrugged knowing that it wouldn't do much good to argue with him. She could have yelled at him and demanded an explanation, but it wouldn't have gotten her any farther.
Instead she wanted to point out the flaws in his logic, and work towards making a better future. To prevent something of this magnitude from happening ever again. Perhaps if she could do that, she could ease her clan's fear "Promise me, if you have a problem with me that you will just talk to me about it. Don't go around designing clever punishments, and giving obscure messages. Just tell me"

"I am here to guide, not handhold and coddle, Littlestar. You are not children, and will make your own decisions, for better, or for worse." The Sun replied. "Some cats do not listen, unless all they know is at stake. And both Foxbane and Strikhedoniadalisay knew, from the moment of Pandora's creation, that their clans were at stake, this wasn't some mysterious thing only implied in the way of a vague prophecy like StarClan often gives. They knew. And yet, Foxbane still chose to hold onto her deep seated fury."
He didn't expect her to understand. Did StarClan not send plagues when their leaders turned from them? Did not other deities simply wipe those who scorned them from the world? By all rights, his actions were hardly unusual. But she was mortal, and couldn't read into Foxbane's mind as he could. "I would not leave you to flounder with some mysterious words about what consequences might befall you. Should any intervention be needed, you will know full well what is entailed."

"She knew..." the revelation was knew to her. She had thought that she and Foxstar had been closer than that. Of course she knew the leader had always had her secrets, but just how many she had still astounded her. She shook her head "That is all that I ask" she replied softer still. He swirl of emotions draining what energy she had to argue with him.
She used to be terrefied of the Sun God, and even though she knew had seen just how powerful he could be first hand, he reminded her of her father in some ways. Powerful, strong, and majestic and yet would still care how she felt in such situations.
