i'm trying to decide which ones that i wanna focus on for my capstone.

as my proposal reads :

My project seeks to rectify the inadequacy of literature that explores queerness and cryptozoology. My project seeks to understand how the cryptid has been queerly interpreted in a way that encourages identification. By using a combination of both media and textual analyses, I seek to explore the ways in which the cryptid has been iconized in specific queer subcommunities and the effect this has on those subcommunities. I will both draw and expand upon frameworks of cultural recoding and queer monstrosity to examine this relationship between the queer and the cryptid in order to interrogate what it might mean for queers to self-identify with creatures whose existences are simultaneously affirmed and denied by society and its institutions.
