Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
There was still a faint trace of twilight remaining on the horizon of the darkening sky when the gray tom slipped from his den. His jaws parting, in a wide, audible yawn as he shook out his fur. The warmth of his nest already being starved off by the cold night air. He turned to glance over his shoulder at his curly apprentice who was still fast asleep in his nest. He almost didn't want to wake the young tom but, there was work to be done. Still he could at least be nice about his approach. Tealeaves made his way over to the fresh-kill pile, nosing through it to find something that looked decent before selected two mice for him and Lambpaw. Once back in their den he dropped both in front of his apprentice's nest and prodded him lightly. "Lambpaw, wake up, I brought breakfast" he spoke softly so that the sound didn't leave their den but, loud enough for the young cat to hear him.
Lambpaw shifted in his nest as he dreamed in his slumber, a light prod broke the trance and his eyes fluttered open to reveal his mentor standing before him. "Mmm, hello Tealeaves, did you say breakfast?" The juicy scent of the mice drifted around him as he sat up, letting out a large yawn in the process.
"Indeed I did." The gray tom stifled a snicker as he turned away to give with young cat room to climb from his nest. "You'll learn better if you aren't distracted from the empty feeling in your belly." He didn't need to explain his every move but, he found that others seemed to be more relaxed when he did.
The curly furred apprentice nodded and tucked into his meal, he knew he needed to eat but he was beyond ready to begin his training. "Thank you for the meal Tealeaves." He purred between bites.
He smiled at the young tom, not quite reaching his eyes. "What shall we start with today hm..? I could quiz you, we could start restocking for leaf-bare, or perhaps you would like to play a game instead?" he crouched down and began to tuck into his own meal.
Lambpaw looked up from his meal and tilted his head. "We should probably restock, but... what kind of game?" He knew having their stock full for leaf-bare was important but his curiosity had been peaked at the mention of a game.
"That is also up to you. It can be a mind game, or a physical game. Would you like a riddle or a puzzle or both?" He sat up, waiting patiently for Lambpaw to decide, there was no right or wrong answer but, he was genuinely curious to see which he would pick.
A riddle or a puzzle? A riddle would most likely focus on more on the use of his mind, but a puzzle would test his mental and probably his physical ability as well. "I would like both then." It was an easy enough question to answer, if he wanted to know where he stood skill wise he would need to push himself a little.
