Eeriepaw loved this weather. Leaffall had brought cooler days and cold nights, something that Eeriepaw felt very grateful for. She's spent her kithood hot under her dense smoky pelt and the relief of the more mild weather was evident in her attitude. She'd not even realized how miserable the heat was until it had left. The young cat found herself sitting in the early morning, just as the nocturnal clan was beginning to settle down, racing through the territory. She'd been given permission for a short walk just outside of camp but had instead immediately took off for a run before going to sleep. The frigid air tore through her pelt as she ran, tail streaming out and paws slamming against the ground with even strides as she zigzagged without reason. She didn't stop until her sides were heaving and she felt exhausted, only then realizing that she couldn't 100% tell where she was in the territory. The young cat hadn't yet memorized all the landmarks. She padded in a small circle uncertainly, tail flicking.
"Eeriepaw?" Came a gentle voice. From the ferns stepped Silvershine, one of Moonclan's senior warriors. The silver and white tabby she-cat approached the apprentice with worry in her crystal blue eyes. "What are you doing this far out? Your very close to the Rogue Lands. Is everything alright?" After everything Moonclan had been through, Silvershine always expected the worst despite her usual optimism. Now that Foxstar had been released from her captivity, Silvershine always feared the murderous she-cat would return. Seeing that Eeriepaw was a long way from camp, the look of confusion in her eyes, and the fact that she was out during morning hours only fed to Silvershine's fear.

Eeriepaw flattened her ears, surprised and relieved to see a senior warrior. She'd spent a few heartbeats feeling exposed and unsafe out here alone and the sudden presence of Silvershine was welcome. But then she had to explain herself and she felt foolish as she hung her head, "I was allowed to take a walk as long as I was in sight of camp. But I... the weather is so nice so I went for a run. I guess I ran too far because I didn't know where I ended up. I'm really sorry, Spookbat will be angry," the apprentice could just picture her mentor's disapproving look now.
"How about this, I tell him I asked you to help me hunt. That way, you wont get in trouble. But we can't arrive empty pawed." Silvershine smiled, relieved that it was just a curious apprentice. Her kits were just like that, Especially her Mudpaw. He was always sneaking out and getting into mischief. Silvershine believed that shooting down a curious young cat was not the way to guide them. She believed in encouraging their curiosities but also teaching them about the dangers of their actions

Eeriepaw raised her tail and nodded happily, "thank you Silvershine!" Hunting, and no angry Spookbat? Eeriepaw felt incredibly grateful for Silvershine's kindness. "I haven't hunted much yet, but I will try my best to catch something for the clan."

Immediately, Eeriepaw opened her mouth to scent the air more thoroughly. "Um, there is a mouse close by, there!" She angled her ears towards a nearby bush. "And... I think that's rabbit scent too?" The smokey she-cat looked to Silvershine again for confirmation.
She nodded with a warm smile. "That's right. Why don't we try to catch that rabbit? Its very close. Its just on the other side of that bush over there." She pointed with her tail to a bush ahead of them. Tiny white paws could be seen through the lower branches of the bush. "I will take position over there" She flicked her tail to a spot where a hole had been dug out of the earth. "It will try to run to the safety of the hole once you scare it my way and then I will be waiting for it." She looked at the apprentice. "What I want you to do is sneak around it and then when I give you the signal, I want you to leap out and scare it and I will catch it. Do we have a plan?"

Eeriepaw listened without letting her eyes leave the rabbit's paws. When Silvershine finished explaining the plan Eeriepaw nodded importantly, "I can do that, for sure." She was already a decent hunter and the familiar excitement tingled in her paws as she imagined the chase. This was what made Eeriepaw feel alive. Useful. A real part of MoonClan. With a determined flick of her tail she slipped off and around the rabbit, each paw carefully placed as she got into position. The rabbit had no idea she was even there! sorry this took forever ;-;
