Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Fang was curled up against a barren tree, a comfortable layer of snow over his body. He was quite warm enough, with his thick fur and the added insulation of the snow. Of course, it was nearly impossible to see him, he looked like a little mound of snow himself. Anyone could trip over him, whether it be clanmate, enemy, or predator.
(Honeystorm, know this is old... but as I replied this got more dramatic XD)
Rubyflame was having a bit of a hard time...
A lot had happened. Foxbane killing her and the sun god healing her letting her live with one life remaining now. The whole Day/Sun apocalypse as it turned out Glowstar had a secret daughter Bluejay she hadn't told anyone about. And who knew what else lay ahead.
Rubyflame was feeling... overwhelmed. She knew being Immortal Council wouldn't be easy and she had pushed herself hard to get the role because of being able to cheat death once...
But now after all that had happened, was it worth it? Was all this worth it? Her relationship with her children strained. Her life nearly taken. One of her friends, Eternallaughter, now dead. and then almost watching it all burn, it was-
She halted when she saw the shape lying against the barren tree. It didn't look like a normal snowbank...
Then she saw the dark shape and her breath caught.
Fang.
Fang. underneath a layer of snow.
Her heart pounded as she stared wide eyed trying to find signs of life but it was hard to see any, and all she could feel was growing panic.
No, nononononono, StarClan couldn't take her mate from her too!
"fang!" She cried panicked flinging herself to her mate and immediately trying to push the snow off her mate, desperate to check him over, to find proof that he was okay. That she hadn't lost him something that, she realized in this moment, brought her more pain and fear than even her own demise brought to her.
One moment he was comfortable in his dreamland, distracting himself from all the things that swirled like dark forces in his mind by simply sleeping it away and not facing it, and the next, her shout cut through his slumber, dream world melting away as his eyes flew open in shock. Fang bounced up, claws extended as he looked around wildly, wondering what had caused Rubyflame to be so terrified. A comical little mound of snow still rested between his ears, though it fell off in flakes as his head swung about, until his gaze came to rest on his mate, eyes wide. "What's wrong!?" He breathed, entire body tense. It didn't even occur to him that she might be fussing about him.
Rubyflame shifted back paws pressing against him for a second, her breath quick and rapid as she looked him over quickly.
"You're okay," She breathed, tears pricking her eyes as her whole body shook. "Oh thank StarClan you're okay," She couldn't stop the shakes that were starting to take over as the tears overflowed. "I thought-" Her breath hitched. "I saw the snow on you, and thought-I thought you were dead." She sobbed, pressing in close to him, words tumbling from her mouth. "I'm so sorry, I just... after everything, and Eternallaughter and Timerous- and Windchaser- and I just saw the snow on you and you lying there-!"
