"Come on, come on," he mumbled to himself, staring up at the large stone wall separating his garden from the rest of the world. The young kittypet had yet to achieve his dream of jumping the wall. But today was the day. His twolegs wouldn't miss him for the day, and Scully was ready to see the world. With one last push he sprang up, hooking back claws into the porous rock and hauling himself up with his rubber capped front paws, unable to rely much on his soft front claws. And then he was on top of the world. The black and white tom looked down onto the street about two rabbit-lengths below. It wasn't a long fall, but he was higher than he'd ever been in life. He looked around in wonder, suddenly eager for more. So, he jumped.
He landed easily enough, with a soft thud and a small tinkling sound from his bell and tag clinking together. Then, he started walking towards some trees. His adventure was beginning.

It was extremely unfortunate for the poor young cat that he crossed paths with Nibbles. In fact, it was generally bad luck for any cat that crossed paths with Nibbles. It was simple really; Nibbles was really just overall bad news. Of course, Nibbles wouldn't put it that way. He regarded himself as quite a fine fellow, who respected everyone... to a point.
Nibbles was enjoying the weather and had taken to some fine sunbathing just outside a row of cleanly built Twoleg houses. He sometimes popped by the Twoleg houses to pretend to a nice cutesy cat, so they'd feed him. After he had received the food and gulped it greedily down, he would typically bite the twolegs and saunter off, a cheerful grin on his face. This process had just taken place and now the fluffy grey tom was chilling, feeling all zen. However, his zen mind was rudely interrupted by the sound of another cat approaching."WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?" He moaned, rolling onto his side. "I WAS MEDITATING!" He screamed, his head popping up from behind some grass. "And trying to get a sun tan. It's /so/ hard with all this fluff." He almost whimpered at the dreadful thought of never being able to get a sun tan.

"Dude!" Scully exclaimed, "stop yelling!" This stupid cat had been meditating? As if. What even was meditating? Had he meant sleeping? Scully was young and hotheaded, he didn't like to be bullied and felt he had something to prove. So he stubbornly refused to be startled by the presence of this cat. He was, however, very confused by him. "Sun tan? What are you talking about?" This cat had fur! He would never sun tan. Scully had a slight suspicion that this tom was a few kibbles short of a full bowl, the knowledge of that made Scully nervous and he did indeed take a few steps back at that point, green eyes watchful.

Nibbles was not pleased with the response he received from the cat that so rudely disrupted him. And to make things worse, the other tom thought he could tell him, Nibbles, to stop yelling? No. This was not okay. It would not do at all. But the most horrible and concerning thing of all was the fact that this cat... this cat standing in front of him right now did not know what a sun tan was. This was terrible. Nibbles almost felt like crying. Every cat should know. This would not do!
"Dear... Dear... Dear..." Nibbles mused as he circled around the other cat, apparently sizing him up. Without warning, Nibbles jumped at the other cat, so that his face was pinned up close to the other tom's. "I CAN SCREAM ALL I WANT!" He spat. He pulled away, his voice becoming sweet and childlike. "But if that's what you want me to do... then I guess." He paused, a fake tear dropping from his left eye and trailing its way down his whisker.

This cat wasn't normal, that much was obvious. And Scully was 'tough' until it looked like he wouldn't win. And something about this cat made him believe he'd lose for sure. So, instead of puffing out his chest and sneering, he flattened his ears and stepped away more. Then Nibbles leaped at him and screamed, making his ears hurt. He yowled and backed away, fur fluffed up and claws extended, showing the little blue caps on the end that made them useless, "what's wrong with you?!" The tear coming down the other tom's face was somewhat disarming, but Scully didn't know what to do now. So he stood frozen, hair on end, and eyes darting around as though looking for help to arrive.

A deathly evil smile crossed Nibble's dastardly features. His eyes trailing down to the Scully's claws or rather the blue caps. It was just as well the tom was in a good mood, otherwise Scully would have 100% been in his bad books for not understanding the concept of tanning. Which, of course, Nibbles thought every cat living and dead should understand. However, the murder of a sassy she-cat yesterday had put Nibble's taste for death on a little nap. In his defense, the she-cat had insulted his fur and that was really the last straw for any cat.
But the fluffing up of the pelt and the comment on what was wrong with him, really made Nibbles feel offended. What was wrong with him? Noticing that poor Scully seemed completely terrified of him, Nibbles backed off slightly. This was always the typical reaction cats gave him but Nibbles still hadn't worked out why. He was a chill dude... right?
"Aw man." He purred. "It looks as if you've seen a ghost, seriously. I'm not gonna kill ya... Yet." He paused. "As for your question which I assume you meant as a rhetorical question but I shant take it like that because I feel slightly offended by it. And well," he shrugged, "if you offend me, it'll mean I'll have to kill you and I really don't feel like burying another body today. I'm sure you feel the same way?" He asked, with a huge, warm, motherly smile.
