Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
"All right everyone!" Soaringstar meowed after she'd assembled some cats for a quick meeting. "We have made a recent discover in one of our caves! There appears to be bats."
"Bats?" Marshpaw meowed tilting his head. "What are those?"
"They're like flying rats." Stealthclaw meowed. "They're wings aren't very tasty and they're a bit scrawny."
"They're extremely annoying." Duskwing grumbled, the new elder having been kept awake by the shrieking of the bats. Thanks to getting her hind leg mangled, and forcing her to early retirement she'd taken to sleeping whenever. And the bats disturbed her naps.
"So since we have a need to remove a few of them, and it could be fun to try, I've decided to make it into a contest!" Soaringstar meowed letting out a purr. "They will certainly be tricky to hunt, you may work in pairs, or alone. The winner or winning pair who catches the most bats will receive the night off tomorrow!"
Flamingsoul flexed her claws and grinned, "Those pesky sky rats dont have a chance against me."
Umbrahound lifted his chin. He enjoyed competition a little too much. "A contest, you say? That sounds like my kind of fun!"
Echomelody widened her green eyes in excitement and gave a couple bounces of excitement. "I've always wanted to try to catch a bat!" She bounced over to Beetleflight and gave him a playful prod in the shoulder with her paw, "you wanna be my partner?"
Beetleflight turned to Echomelody, ears pricking forwards. "Sure! I'd love to!" He said eagerly.
Stealthclaw chuckled, coming over to stand by Echomelody and Beetleflight. "They're a bit like hunting winged mice is the best way to say it. They're very keen of hearing, so you have to take care to stalk and kill them as quietly as possible."
Duskwing huffed. "They also can have an annoying habit of swarming around you. More like winged mice mixed with bees."
Beetleflight cocked his head at his mother's phrasing. Trying to picture it in his head before just nodding.
Echomelody nodding, taking in what her adopted mother and Duskwing were saying about the bats. "Have you ever caught one?" She asked Stealthclaw, tilting her head.
"A few times," Stealthclaw said shrugging. "I've seen a few in the night because that's when we do our hunting, but they're pretty hard to catch in the forest. In caves like this it's a little easier," She said.
"You may begin hunting whenever you would like!" Soaringstar said. "Happy hunting!" She said before turning away to talk to one of the cats who had come up to ask her something.
Beetleflight slipped up beside Echomelody, "Shall we be off?" He asked.
