Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Polarkit was a complete mamas boy. The little, fluffy tom kit headed to her every beck and call. Especially, if it put him more in her favor. Stormsurge was a hard mother to please for any kit’s standards, but he was determined.
Trying in vain to tame his fur, Polarkit watched over the rest of the nursery. Eyes searching for someone he can rat on, preferably one his siblings. He need to prove that he was the best kit and her most loyal soldier. How better than to report everything to her.
Northkit had managed to hide her blindness from her mother thus far, not willing to give the queen a reason believe she was impaired in any way, it didn't stop Stormsurge from showing she did not approve of her daughter though and Northkit had stopped caring what her mom thought. The fluffy she-cat sat just inside the nursery, her amber eyes staring blankly into the distance although where most would see the large camp she saw only darkness, her colored eyes as normal as any other cats aside from the faint cloudy layer that ran through them. Luckily for her unless one looked close enough you would never know.
Aurorakit the second oldest of Stormsurge's litter didn't try too hard to please her mother, but she was often one of the kittens in her litter that seemed to displease her mother. Her fur wasn't kept neat enough, a speck of mud that she missed while grooming, was too sloppy of an eater, she slept in too late, or was too quick to anger. Currently she was stomping into the nursery. Anger in every pawstep and she let out an angry huff. A small clump of moss was clinging to the long fluffy fur on her cheek. She swat at it angrily causing it to fall to the nursery floor. She saw her sister Northkit and the her anger seemed to dissipate. "Hey Northkit." She said a quiet greeting to her sister.
"Hello Aurorakit." She greeted in return, her gaze turning toward the sound of her sisters voice. "Are you alright, you seemed a bit upset." She had more or less sensed the anger as her sister walked in, mostly though she heard it as she let out angry puffs. Northkit kept her sightless eyes toward Aurorakit but her ears swiveled toward where their brother Polarkit was seated, she had known he was awake, his breathing different from those still asleep but had chosen not to confront him just yet.
Seeing his angry sister, Polarkit grinned. Oh how he loved when she was furious, it made his life more enjoyable. The tom would and could find anything to tattle about then and just make his sister's anger worse. Mother always seemed pleased when he found something wrong and pointed it out to her. Sliding over to his two siblings, quiet and keeping a distance far enough to not be seen right away or so he thought, but close enough to hear the reasoning of Aurorakit's anger.
"The other youth are being mean. Why the next time I see that Orbitalkit again I will swat her nose." Aurorakit meowed while her tail lashed back and forth her eyes a raging inferno as she imagined the other molly standing in front of her. The fur along her spine was slightly sticking up as she fussed. In her fit of anger she failed to notice her brother Polarkit.
Northkit listened carefully to her sister's ranting about the other youth in the clan, the volume of her voice raised to the long haired she-cats sensitive ears, being blind had its perks, Northkits sense of hearing and smell were stronger than those who could see. Her ears swiveled as Polarkits movement vibrated the tuffs of fur at the opening of her attuned ears, it took a bit of effort to hold back the sigh that threatened to slip out as he moved closer to them. "You know Polarkit, it's not nice to eavesdrop." Her voice was void of emotion and her sightless eyes remained on Aurorakit as she waited to see if their brother would respond.
Polarkit growled, anger and frustration filling him as he stepped out. His eyes rolled as he spoke, “and who says I care?” The tom was more angry and frustrated with himself as he j e another would be furious if he learned he’d been caught so easily in his task. Taking a seat near, but still far enough away to not be associated with them, “now Aurorakit, do you honestly believe the other youth will be nice just because you wnat them too? Mother would be ashamed to hear that.”
A breathy huff escaped Northkits mouth at the mention of their mother, it was hard to disguise the sickening feeling that came over her at how much of a mamas boy her brother was, doing anything to please the queen if it made him look good. She hated to admit it, but she actually agreed with part of what Polarkit said, you cant just expect others to be nice because that's what you want. "What mother thinks about it doesnt matter, but he is right Aurorakit, you cant make them be nice to you and complaining about it isnt going to change anything." She kept her hazy amber eyes directed at her sister as she spoke, but didn't make an attempt to move.
Polarkit puffed out his chest, of course he was right. Mother was raising him properly, now if only he's siblings would get on board with the training she was offering them. They could be just as strong and as good as he was, though he'd surely be better. He had to be better or how else would mother see his value. "Though, you could always swat back at them. That would please mother. She'd love to see more fight out of the two of you."
