Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
plot: In an attempt to combat the lack of food over winter, Hystericplague has created a concoction that is supposed to help lengthen the amount of time before prey starts rotting. Secretly, he has added this to the food in the fresh kill pile to test it. However, soon after, cats that have eaten from the pile start commenting on odd occurrences, and it is widely believed that the clan has become haunted. In reality, it is just hallucinations caused by Hystericplague's experiment.
Feel free to roleplay it in this thread, or bring it into other threads!
Hystericplague had never been one to believe in the supernatural, or of anything that he couldn't find firm proof of. Even as a medicine cat, he had little to no belief in Starclan, as he had never seen them for himself. So, there had to be a solid explanation for why Delirium, his mother that had been thought deceased, was watching over his shoulder as he gulped down a mouse in the safety of his den. He had not seen the she-cat since she brought him to Springclan as a kit to be Eternalstar's personal doctor.
"Did you try adding catmint?"
He rolled his eyes at her question. So she could speak, too? The voice was exactly as he remembered it, but he had no memory of her having any knowledge of herbs. Was he truly being haunted by the ghost of his mother? Ignoring her question, he stood up and left his den. Surely some fresh air would help. He was probably just sleep deprived and seeing things.

Autumnkit was almost an apprentice, he was so excited to explore FallClan more. He rolled out of the nursery and over to the fresh-kill pile. It looked extremely tempting, but a strange smell spread across his senses. He started licking his ear non-stop, a common habit he did when he was nervous. "Oh no!" He cried out, stepping back. Somehow, the smell seemed good though a little different to normal, and gingerly he picked up a small bird and placed it between his jaws.

"Autumnkitttt!" Calamityshrine skipped over to the little tom and tilted it's head. "It's alright! I just had a bird and it was delicious." The sleek black deputy told him, giving him a little pat on the head with one slender paw. His ice blue eyes were clear and shining, so the herbs hadn't quite taken effect yet...but sooon...'

The small kit almost jumped right out of his fur, as Calamityshrine so suddenly called his name and skipped over. His eyes huge, he glanced at the deputy. "Y-yes." He mumbled, forcing the rest of the bird down his mouth. "Uhhhh, y-yes... it's yummy-" he began but cut off sharply. His eyes widened, Autumnkit blinked twice, trying to work out if what he was seeing was real or not. A shadow stood just behind Calamityshrine, teeth bared. Was this shadow going to kill the deputy? Was he about to witness a death? Focus on leaves. You're fine. "Uhhhhhhh. Behind you?" The small kit offered, stepping back and almost tripping over the fresh-kill pile.

Calamityshrine's eyes widened in confusion and a little bit of fear and he turned to look behind him. "Ah! What is that thing?!" He jumped back, fur on end, as his own hallucination took form. "Autumnkit, you hide behind me. I'll attack it!" He meowed, sounding a bit delirious but determined. He took a few swipes towards the apparition, but hissed in annoyance as it weaved side to side. In all reality, he was just wobbling back and forth randomly swiping at the air.
As Hystericplague wandered out of his den, he took in the sight of Calamityshrine attacking the air as a kit hit behind him. The medicine cat blinked, his delirious mind starting to fill in its own blanks, and a nearly translucent black mass appeared, flickering in and out of existence as the tom blinked more. "Well, that certainly is odd," he muttered, ignoring the sound of his mother's tart reply behind him. Perhaps, if others were seeing these apparitions as well, it wasn't just his sleep deprivation eating at him. Though, that conclusion was certainly more troublesome. The twisted tom let out a loud sigh, debating just going back to sleep at this point. This was going to take away from his experiment time, wasn't it?

"Hystericplague, watch out!" Calamityshrine called, still swinging at the air like a mad chicken. The black tom jumped forward to stand between the medicine cat and the black thing. He instantly felt bad for accidentally leaving Autumnkit all by his lonesome, but his mind wasn't thinking clearly. What in the world was going on?

Autumnkit screamed loudly and tried to jump behind Calamityshrine but instead, he found himself staring right into the eyes of a zombie cat, the rotting flesh of the cat melting away. The sound of flies becoming louder and louder. "Nooooo!" The small tom yelped, tumbling backwards into Hystericplague.
The medicine cat glanced between the figure and Calamityshrine, his mind racing to figure out a reasonable explanation. When Autumnkit stumbled into him, he switched his eerie glance to him, unable to see what had the kit panicking this time. Heaving another sigh, he gave in. "Alright, someone mind explaining to me just what is going on around here?" Behind him, he heard the laugh of his mother, and he swung around. "And you, shut up," he added, his head started to hurt from her sarcastic comments and laughs.

"Hystericplague. What is wrong with them?" Bonemaiden asked as she cautiously approached. "They look...unwell."
Cal's attention drifted wildly between the medicine cat, warrior, and kit. "You mean you don't see all these crazy things?!" He squeaked out, eyes wide as the black figure inched closer. "Stay back, stay back! Ya crazy blob!"
