Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
A pair of sleepy, light blue eyes blinked slowly as the softest of lights began to enter the warrior's den. A soft sigh escaped the she-cat as she shut her eyes once more, inhaling the mixture of warm, cat scents that mingled in the den and her body quietly yearning for more time in her soft mossy bed. With a slow a careful motion, the she cat uncurled herself and rolled onto her stomach, blinking hard as she fought to drive away any more drops of sleepiness that remained. It was seldom that she ever started her day this early. The she-cat had admitted on many occasions that one of her biggest bad habits was sleeping in. Being a Garden Keeper, there was no need to rise at the crack of dawn to gather supplies and tend to the wildlife so early unlike the warriors who tirelessly patrolled and hunted night and day. It was a blessing to have been a Garden Keeper, but Dovecloud wanted to be better. Besides, a early morning head start would be refreshing.
Dovecloud rose carefully to her paws, her blue eyes glancing around the den, taking in her fellow clan mates as she silently made her way out of the den, careful not to disrupt anyone's sleep. The day was surprisingly more chilly than she had expected. Leaf-fall had certainly began to settle in more and more as the days past, but Dovecloud didn't mind. The vibrant colors Leaf-Fall brought were worth the cold days and nights.
The white she-cat padded forward, her orbs catching sight of the fresh kill pile. Though her stomach grumbled softly at the sight, she could not bring herself to take a piece. It just didn't feel right eating without having done any work. With one, last longing gaze at the pile of food, the she-cat turned away, making her way to the entrance of Summerclan.
[Just want to apologize for this post, I am on my phone ]
Earthcascade had woken early to join a few of the other warriors for a patrol, the early morning air easily soaking through his short pelt and sending a shiver through his body as the cold began to reach his bones. He returned to camp alone, having told the others to go back without him once they had finished, the tom had doubled back and checked the border again by himself.
As he padded to the entrance to enter camp, his eyes were focused on the sky, so much so that he didn't notice the she-cat coming through until it was too late. He felt only pressure on his chest as it came Into contact with Dovecloud, the surprise of it more than the force caused Earthcascade to falter backwards. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" He was quick to apologize, but as his blue eyes fell upon her he froze.
Dovecloud's stomach grumbled again with immense disapproval of her decision, causing her to stop in her tracks, turning her head slowly back the fresh skill pile. An appetizing thrush laid just at the edge of the pile. The sight of it made the she-cat's mouth water. <No, no, no.> Dovecloud thought firmly, her brows furrowing with the intense scorning she gave herself mentally. Once she had finished up her work, she would come back to eat. The decision added a weight to the small she-cat's shoulders and her stomach softly grumbled in one last feeble attempt to convince her otherwise. Dovecloud shook her head roughly and took a powerful step forward, her head following sharply. A sudden force from a contact with another warm and hard surface caused Dovecloud to meowed in surprise. The white and beige she-cat jumped back in surprise, her back arched as she took in the obstacle only to find a familiar face
"Oh! Earthcascade!" She breathed, her nerves suddenly calming with embarrassment as she sat down quickly, the hairs on the back of her shoulder falling slowly. "No, no I have to apologize." She spoke up, rising to her paws as she regained a bit more composure " I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." She admitted embarrassingly, her blue eyes falling to the ground briefly with shame before rising to meet the tom's own blue pair of eyes "I didn't hurt you did I?" She inquired, her voice dripping in genuine worry as she took in the tom's posture for any signs of pain.
He shuffled his paws on the ground unable to form the words running through his head, his blue eyes staring into hers until the worry in her tone pulled him from his daze. "Oh no, I'm not hurt, it would take much more than a little bump to bring me down beside it's just as much my fault for not paying attention as I walked." He smile sheepishly at her, trying to make sense of what he was feeling. She was beautiful.
"Are you headed out?" Well that was dumb, of course she was. He shook his head lightly and backed up so he was standing outside of camp and so that she could get through the entrance.
Embarrassment at the realization of her words caused the she-cat to burn up under her white coat, making the chilly morning air suddenly very bearable. "Oh of course, I didn't mean it like that." Dovecloud chirped up quickly, a sudden way of nervousness making it a bit difficult to breathe "You are one the strongest warriors in Summerclan, of course a small cat like me is like a pebble against you!" She laughed it off, her smile half apologetic as she attempted to reel back in the seemingly offense comment.
"Yes, actually I am!" She spoke up, her nervousness melting away slowly as she was reminded of her the task ahead. " I am going out and picking some herbs for Graythorn and Hazlepaw." Her light blue eyes were bright with excitement, but as she spoke, they couldn't help but linger longer on Earthcascade. Though the two lived together in the same clan and they knew of each other, Dovecloud realized this was the first time the two had really talked other than passing hellos and goodbyes.
"Did you just finish up a Patrol?" She asked inquisitively, glancing past the exit of the camp and back to the tom.
A soft smile pulled at the corners of his mouth, did she really think he was one of the strongest warriors? He worked hard and did far more than his share of duties but he believed there were others more deserving of such a compliment than himself. "Yes ma'am, the rest of the patrol should have arrived back awhile ago, I stayed behind and checked the border again after they left." It was an unnecessary thing to do, but he always double checked the borders when patrolling.
"Would you mind if I joined you? I can be your personal herb carrier for the day." He had no other patrols and enjoyed the thought of spending more time with Dovecloud, the two had never truly spoken to one another and he wanted to know her better.
