Jetclaw - others welcome! this is hazelcascade's return to sunclan thread where she returns after having visions of foxstar going mad and murdering cats. she left her position as soothsayer to return to her old clan (moonclan), so a lot of cats won't be happy with her return to sunclan. feel free to jump in and take part c:
The cold wind tore at Hazelcascade's pelt like a thousand knives. The grey tabby she-cat stumbled, half standing, half dragging herself. Not far now... She reminded herself. The past moons had been a whirlwind of anguish. She regretted everything, she regretted turning her back on SunClan. The clan had not been perfect. Sure - it had its horrible secrets hidden away like cobwebs in a dark room. But nonetheless, it was a place she had come to call home.
Everything had happened so fast but all she could feel was pain, anger... and fear. She had awoken, eyes blank, tears streaming down her face. The vision of death filled her mind, the images had been so vivid as if they had really happened in front of her. There had been blood, death... and a fox. Hazelcascade had left MoonClan that very night, heading straight to SunClan. It was now or never.
A dark storm had been forming all day and now come night, the rain thundered down. Her pelt was soaked, the cold seeping from her head to tail. She could hardly feel her paws. However, she continued onwards. It wasn't far now, the ground and earth around her brung back old memories, some good, some horrible. If her nightmare had really been true, she feared what it might mean. She had to find out what had happened to SunClan. She could only hope that her worst fears would not be confirmed... and that no angry SunClan cats got in her way.
Skipstep had wanted to do some late night hunting, intending to surprise Littlebird and the kits with some juicy fresh kill in the morning...
But now soaked to the bone and with no prey for his troubles, the tan and black tom was ready to get back to camp, dry off and try to get some sleep. He was too wet to consider curling up with Littlebird and the kits tonight, and he knew Jetclaw would be tart. A warmth filled him at having his sister back, spending the night beside her wouldn't be too bad.
As he hurried back he heard something and turned his head, spotting a gray tabby shape moving through the territory. Bristling, he slowed his pace.
While he knew Foxstar was far from friendly, that didn't mean he'd allow any cat to wander around SunClan territory.
Slowing to a stop, he began to stalk towards the cat, keeping low. The cat was clearly preoccupied with moving through the territory and heading to SunClan's camp. Clearly they knew where they were going.
Well, the Janus camp was close, he could take them there.
He shifted so he was trailing the cat from behind, the rain deadened most scents but as he crept in close, preparing to pounce a familiar scent hit him.
It took him a few moments to place it, but in that instant he straightened up and gasped.

The voice calling out from the darkness sent a shiver up Hazelcascade's spine. She couldn't quite put a face to the voice but whoever had just called her name knew her... and she knew them. The scent of the SunClan cat washed over her, it was hard to pick up through all the rain and the wind but somehow she had a slight feeling, a sense deep inside of her stomach of who she might have stumbled into. Could it really be? No, it couldn't be him. Could it?
Perhaps because Hazelcascade had been feeling so desperate or maybe it was just her tiredness she took a risk. If she had been in a better state of mind and not so cold, she would have been wiser and not have called her old loves name out. It was stupid really when you think about it. She was so alone, so scared of who she might come across and the first name that jumped into her mind was... was Skipstep.
Trying to see better through the rain and darkness, the she-cat stumbled forwards. "S-skipstep?" She called out, a hopeful tinge to her hollow voice.
Skipstep stared at her shocked. "you're... you're really here?" He asked stepping over to her. The cold and the rain pelting down on them forgotten as he stepped closer to her.
Sure enough, his eyes hadn't deceived him, nor was the sound of her voice a trick of the whistling wind.
"Where were you? You... I confessed to you, and you disappeared." He said, emotions, long dead coming back. The growing pain in his chest when Hazelcascade did not return after his heartfelt confession. The desperation to turn closer and closer to the Sun God to try and understand and comprehend what had caused SunClan's first soothsayer to disappear. The drive to keep as close and protect Littlebird when he began to feel for her. All traced back to the moment this she cat before him disappeared like a wraith from SunClan.

Hazelcascade blinked away the drops of rain pouring down her ears and down her whiskers. Perhaps a few of them were true tears, but the rain and the wind hid the true droplets of emotions. The tabby she-cat stepped forward, her heart pounding. "I-I know..." She stammered, wrapping her tail around his, her eyes huge, willing him to somehow understand without an explanation. Shivering, her thoughts curled and twisted back to the days when everything seemed okay. When she had first realized her love for Skipstep and the day he had told her his feelings. Another tear trickled down her face.
She dipped her head, pushing her face into his warm pelt. "I'm s-sorry." She whispered, the cold and fear draining slightly from inside of her. Shaking her head, she looked up at him, looking deep into his pupils. A flash of concern crossed her features, cold and sharp. She was here because of the vision she had. She had to know. She must know. Had her vision come true? Glancing up at Skipstep, she sighed. "I-I had a vision..." She meowed softly.
