Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Because when we think of a cult, we think of a place that keeps you prisoner.
And it was a prison. Even for its chosen savior. You wouldn't be able to tell now as you gaze upon the sleek black pelt of the newest addition to MoonClan's ranks, but Nightwish had a haunting past that even now sent her reeling into ghosts. Forgetting that part of her life was like trying to forget some gum on your shoe; you may be able to pretend it isn't there, but you'll be reminded of it every time your foot gets stuck.
Even now, as she patrolled the borders of MoonClan's land, ice blue eyes nervously looking out through the trees beyond the scent marks, her mind was on it. They didn't look evil, the members of the Collective; at the time, they had been the friendliest faces she had ever seen. She should have known their hospitality and kindness was a bit much to be normal.
She inhaled a deep breath, tasting the wind on her tongue. Clean. Good.
It was surprising that he found her by herself patrolling the territory, given the situation she was in too long ago, but he understood. Keeping his distance as to not startle her too much, he called out to her. "Have you found what you were looking for?" he asked, the moonlight reflecting off his eyes.
She had heard him on the wind, thankfully, for she knew if she hadn’t she would have flinched far worse than she had. As it were, she cringed away for half a second before turning to look at the tom, a kind smile on her face and her eyes apologetic. “I suppose so.” She took a few steps away from the border to approach her new clanmate, “that is to say, I found no sign of what I was looking for, and that is a good sign.” She tilted her head. “Did you? Find what you were looking for, I mean.”
Silverstar shrugged and glanced around. "Specifically, no. I was out doing rounds, checking on things and," his eyes fell on her, "I found you. I suppose it's good that you didnt find what you were looking for. My apologies for startling you, by the way." he added apologetically with a sheepish smile.
Her smile grew wider at his words, muscles relaxing and stance loosening. “I see. I’m sorry for having gotten distracted. I suppose I’m still a little out of it.” She closed the distance between them, keeping about a tail length left. “Would you like some company? We could get more done if we stick together. I’ve already patrolled the north end, but it couldn’t hurt to double back. It’s a calm night, though, and the breeze is crisp; no other should be out except those with business.” She tilted her head. “What is it you were looking for specifically?”
"I normally do this sort of thing alone, but I wouldnt mind some company. Why not?" He looked up to the moon and shrugged again. "I guess I was looking for....clarity? I dont know, just needed some time away from camp to clear my head. How are you holding up?" Since he wasnt in any sort of rush, he sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws and giving Nightwish his full attention.
It was this question that caused her to shift uncomfortably; she knew she could trust him, but she was unused to sharing her true emotion with others. She'd spent so long pretending to be the perfect daughter and leader... Now that she was able to be real, she wasn't sure how. Inhaling a deep breath, she sat across from him, avoiding his gaze. "I'm fine. I'm still trying to get used to things, but I already feel much better. The air here is clean and fresh. It doesn't have the thick aura that..." She trailed off and twitched, moving on to a new sentence. "It's getting better." She smiled. "I'm grateful I have you and the rest of the clan for that help. You guys have become my family now and I could never repay you for that." She stood, the raw emotion causing ants to crawl along her skin. "Shall we head south?"
Despite her words, he didnt believe what she said. He wanted to ask further questions but decided not to for the sake of her well-being, but that didnt stop the concern from creeping in. It will have to wait for another time. Shaking the thoughts from his head, he stood and glanced in the suggested direction. "I dont see why not." he replied.
