Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It had already been a few weeks since Hystericplague was brought into Fallclan by Calamityshrine to be the new medicine cat, and was given an apprentice. It was odd, for Hystericplague himself was also around apprentice age, but had been granted a full name when he was just a kit when he was made Eternalstar's personal doctor. But, oddly enough, he had yet to even meet Amberpaw, and he was unsure if it was just coincidence, or if his apprentice was avoiding him. Not like he would blame him if that were the case. Many cats avoided the strange medicine cat, for many a reasons. Perhaps it was his appearance; his furless, scraggly body was rather disproportionate, and his golden eyes tended to make others uncomfortable, as if he were seeing through them. Or maybe it was his experiments that he was none-too-subtle about finding test subjects for. Maybe they just didn't trust him due to his lack of connection with Starclan, although he had yet to really test that one out.
Whatever it was, one thing was certain. Today, Hystericplague would finally meet his apprentice. He sat outside of the medicine cat den, tail impatiently tapping on the ground, his beady eyes sweeping through the camp.
Amberpaw had been hiding away with Seablossom, but now she was out on patrol and wasn't even here for his first met with his new mentor. She'd been there when he'd met his previous mentor when they still lived in EarthClan...when EarthClan was still a clan. Fear raced through him when he spotted his mentor, the odd Hystericplague. Dark gray fur tried hiding behind the warriors den, he'd gone in there in search of his sister and come up empty. Apparently, she went out on a patrol. Why today! Couldn't she have just stayed around a little while longer?
Eerie golden eyes finally caught sight of the bit of dark dray behind a den, and Hystericplague let out a sigh. So, it would seem his apprentice was avoiding him. Very well, if that was how he would like to be. The slim, hairless cat stood up, making a show of stretching. He opened his jaw to fake a yawn, but a coughing fit escaped him instead. Shaking his head, he made is if to leave camp, but circled around the warrior's den instead, deciding that he would spend the day following Amberpaw. If he wanted to avoid him, Hystericplague would make it nearly impossible for the apprentice to do. Although he hated wasting time, much preferring any spare time to be spent with his tests, this revenge would at least serve as entertainment. At least, it should.
(Sorry been busy with classes, homework and getting WIC going)
Amberpaw eyes his mentor, watched him leave and only then let out a breath of relief. Another day in which he didn't have to meet the strange cat. It was unsettling that he'd been chosen as the medicine cat apprentice in the first place--something about StarClan leading him there and him being an omen from above--but now he had to deal with a crazy mentor too! The tom settled down to wait for Seablossom for surely she would be back soon, and save him from having to meet his mentor. Eyes focused on his every move completely went unnoticed by the younger cat. Dark fur and amber eyes watched the rest of the clan, a part of him curious as to what they all did and who they were, but the other part of him was too scared to care.
