Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Frozenfire stalked along the border between NightClan and MoonClan tail lashing, green eyes glaring ahead.
She'd been in a bad mood, since... well since forever really.
First there was Shiverstar making Burningsky, a young green warrior her deputy, who then eventually succeeded Shiverstar. Then she'd met a wonderful Tom who she thought could be useful in getting her what she wanted... only for him to die and all their plans to go with him. Then there was the outsiders. And now the BrookClan leader just strolling into NightClan camp to talk to Burningstar like nobody's business.
What was happening to their clan?! What happened to the 'NightClan stands for NightClan' mindset that Shiverstar had tried to enforce that Burningstar was throwing away.
Frozenfire snarled claws unsheathing and digging them into the ground when she caught a scent in the air. She paused an opened her mouth and her eyes narrowed.
MoonClan scent.... and it seemed to be on their side of the border.
Eyes lighting up at the promise of a possible encounter, Frozenfire let out a quiet purr and began to stalk towards the source of the scent.
Timberpaw had been out unsuccessfully trying to hunt when he'd accidentally chased a squirrel over the NightClan border and fairly far into the other Clan's territory without realizing or meaning to. At least the small silver tabby tom couldn't be accused of stealing prey since he hadn't actually caught the squirrel
Upon losing the chase he had looked around and quickly realized he didn't recognize the area and must have accidentally crossed a border somewhere. He started trying to follow his scent trail back but he had never been a particularly good hunter and ended up getting lost fairly quickly.
Frozenfire's eyes lit up with dark joy, when she saw the apprentice, the gray tabby she cat crouching low, making sure to stay downwind of the apprentice stalking towards him. Hunting him like prey.
Then when she was in pouncing range she let out a terrible shriek, bunching her muscles and pouncing claws unsheathed. She landed on Timberpaw and bowled him over. Pinning him down on the forest floor.
"What are you doing on NightClan territory!" She hissed looming over him her shape silhouetted against the moonlight peeking through the trees behind her.
Timberpaw let out a startled screech at the sudden ambush, although he really should have known better to expect to be attacked for trespassing.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to trespass, I was chasing a squirrel and didn't realize I had crossed the border." he whimpered. "I didn't catch it though." He added hurriedly, realizing that the NightClan warrior might think he had been stealing prey.
"I'm just trying to get back to my clan." While he couldn't really be called a coward, Timberpaw couldn't really be described as the bravest of cats either. He didn't enjoy confrontation and was pretty bad when it came to fighting skills, which wasn't helped by the fact that although he was close to warrior age and would probably be promoted within a moon or so, he was still the size of a newly promoted apprentice and had very little in the way of bulked up muscles that most apprentices should have at his age.
"You'll get back to your clan," Frozenfire hissed lifting a claw ready to bring it down on the apprentice, "But not without some wounds!"
Before she could deliver a blow though a voice cut through the air, "Frozenfire stop!"
Frozenfire bristled lifting her head to glare at Fernshadow who had entered the scene. "I'm dealing with a trespasser, teaching him a lesson to stay off our borders." She growled.
"He's shaking like a leaf," Fernshadow reprimanded going forwards and resolutely pushing the she cat off Timberpaw. "You caught him, you gave him a scare and now he knows to never trespass again, right?" She asked turning her head to look at Timberpaw. "He looks like he's barely over 6 moons!"
Frozenfire snarled glowering at her niece and at Timberpaw. "He's an intruder!"
"He hasn't stolen any prey and he made a mistake, right?" Fernshadow asked glancing down at Timberpaw.
When Fernshadow pushed Forzenfire off of him, the small tom scrambled away from Frozenfire. "No I didn't take any prey and I never meant to cross the border." Timberpaw assured Fernshadow.
Fernshadow nodded then turned back to her aunt, eyes narrowing. "See, aunt FRozenfire you shouldn't be so jumpy." She admonished her before turning to Timberpaw. "Here I'll take you back to the border. Frozenfire can keep going on her patrol alone." She said her paws shook a bit but she managed to stay firm against her scary aunt who glowered at her but relented moving away from Fernshadow and Timberpaw grumbling to herself. Fernshadow waved her tail and beckoned Timberpaw to follow her. "Come on the border's this way."
Glancing back at Frozefire, the silver tabby quickly hurried after the NightClan warrior. "Thank you." he said genuinely. "I'm Timberpaw." he added trying to be friendly even if they were from different clans.
"Nice to meet you as well." he said. When she asked how long he had been an apprentice, it took him a moment to reply. "Almost five moons actually. I'm just really small for my age." he said.
Fernshadow listened as she led him back to the border she blinked and turned to him taking in his appearance. "Really 5 moons?" She repeated. He was awfully small for his age. Then again so had she. It had taken her many moons (and mentors) to become a warrior, partly because of her size and demeanor. "Are you going to be a warrior soon?" She asked.
(I kinda want these two to be friends I think, they seem to have a lot in common XP, previous poor mentors (I think Fernshadow went through like 4) and they're both from nocturnal clans. Dunno what we can do with them, or if you'd be interested in them being anything more than acquaintances but I'd like these two to at least become friends XP)
Fernshadow let out a sigh, "I know how that is," She said flicking her tail. "I went through far too many mentors than I can honestly remember." She shook her head. "Half think the former leader just got tired of me being an apprentice and promoted me to stop having to reassign me new mentors."
"So I feel you, but hang in there. You'll get there eventually. And maybe you'll get lucky and you'll get a new mentor you click with really well!" She said.
(That'd be cool. it'd be good for him to have a friend. Although honestly about the mentors I don't have any idea. I'm not even sure who his mentor is)
"That'd be great. Although I don't know how well I'll do as a warrior with how clumsy I am." Timberpaw admitted. "All my siblings are fine and constantly talk about wanting to be leader like our great-great-grandmother was but I don't know."
(The whole thing with MoonClan being nocturnal still bugs me because of how much got changed to do that. I know it was entirely up to Blue but MoonClan was the first clan I lead and seeing huge changes made to it was not really something I agreed with.)
(I mean it kinda makes sense for Night and Moon to be more nocturnal anyways. Plus the differences keep things fresh. And tgeres plenty of clans that are similar to the book clans )
Fernshadow chuckled, "I used to be a really shy 'fraidy cat. Still am a bit if im honest," she added after a moment. "But you'll get through, you dont need to be leader, you can just be a good leader, which is what i strive for."
Fernshadow could see the border... but she felt almost melancholy that they were nearing it. "Whats MoonClan like anyways?" She asked out of the blue. She was curious what the other nocturnal clan was like.
"I don't know how to describe it when it's the only thing I've known and I'm not really familiar with the other clans." Timberpaw admitted. "Though from what I've heard my dad and his siblings and cousins talk about, the whole worshiping the Moon God thing was only a recent thing that Wastedstar introduced, same with being nocturnal."
"Oh," Fernshadow meowed ears lowering a bit. Disappointed by this.
He probably also was trying to keep MoonClan's secrets. A sharp reminder that though she could relate to the young tom before her, he was still from a rival clan.
"Well, that makes sense," She said after a moment.
"I'm not sure if I believe in the Moon God, none of my family does, well maybe a couple of my siblings do, but my parents and their siblings don't seem to so I don't know what to think." Timberpaw admitted.
