Birchpaw laid sprawled out on his back in the middle of a field, and lifted his paw to the sky. He tried to cover the sun with his paw and make different shapes in its light. He blinked a few times and looked away to clear the spots from his vision. “Ah such a lovely day.” He purred happily and rolled over. It sure would be nice to share it with a friend. There were many new faces and friends in the camp now! He couldn’t wait to meet them all!
“Oh yes it’s quite a wonderful day! What are you doing lazing about the camp? Get up, let’s go hunt.” Gardeniacrown flocked her tail as she stood near the apprentice. “Come on!” She was smiling though, clearly happy to snag someone to accompany her out of camp.

Birchpaw's eyes widened and he jumped up from his spot. It was a little too quick and he ended up seeing more Gardeniacrowns for a moment before his eyes settled. "Whoo. That was strange." He giggled and shook his head. "You really want me to go hunt with you? That's so awesome!" He purred happily. It wasn't everyday an apprentice got to go hunting with the deputy.
“Well of course.” She couldn’t help but hide a smile as she headed towards the camp’s exit. “Come on now. I don’t want to keep the prey waiting forever.”
