Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It still took her a moment, but slowly, improvement began to show. Her stance was slowly adjusted, and once she managed to cast his criticism from her mind, her movements began to flow better. Her eyes seemed a bit distant as she sought to take in Foxsnarl's entire body, searching for signs before each strike so she would still be able to predict his actions when he sped up.
"Good!" Foxsnarl praised, his tail lashing low and steady for balance as he accelerated his movements. "You're really getting the hang of it now." He backed up a few steps, then lunged forward in real time, swiping for her paws.
Sunpaw did an odd little hop straight up in the air to avoid the paw swipe, making use of her powerful legs. Her heart warmed at the remark, but she didn't seem distracted by it.
"Excellent!" Foxsnarl exclaimed. He reared up and swiped at her face with his forepaws in rapid succession before his balance wavered and he dropped to all four paws again and took a step back.
Now that she had fallen into a rhythm, her dodges were not so clumsy. She managed to dodge each swipe, though the last one only missed by a whisker. As her mentor dropped into her paws, she felt her instincts kick in, informing her of an opening. She refrained however. He had not instructed her to attack yet, and she did not wish to accidentally hurt him.
His green eyes glowed with approval as he gave her a moment to catch her breath from all the dodging. They would work on it another day, but for now he was very pleased with how well she had done. "You're small, so you want to be as nimble as possible. That means you can wiggle in and land attacks while bigger cats stagger about like clumsy buffoons," he told her. "Are you up to learn an attack or two before we head back?"
