LITTLEBIRD
SUNCLAN PRIESTESS PROMISED
Littlebird leaned into Skipstep her tail intertwined with his, as the two of them lead Lionpride and Fernskip towards WinterClan. They hadn't yet told the two warriors what was about to happen, just that they were going to meet with Leatherstar and Mistyveil. Each step she took was more painful the last, one step closer to possibly giving her children the last push that they needed to leave her for good...
She just had to trust that they would understand, that the love she had shown them since the day they were born was enough. They couldn't stay in SunClan any longer, it was becoming to dangerous. Foxstar was unstable, and they were both on her insane kill list. If she ordered their execution... She wasn't entirely sure that she would be able to stop it. Foxstar had already attempted to kill Lionpride, it had been the last straw. In order to keep them safe, they needed to be beyond Foxstar's reach with someone that she knew would protect them as fiercely as she had. After discussing it with Skipstep, their course of action was clear. Fernskip and Lionpride would need to seek refuge in WInterClan until things in SunClan could be calmed down.
A messenger had already been sent ahead of their little party, so that Leatherstar and Mistyveil could meet them at the border. They two had no clue what Skipsetp and Littlebird were about to suggest, thought there was little doubt he would jump at the opportunity to spend time with their children.
It hurt deeply that he was going to have to send away Lionpride and Fernskip, especially to Leatherstar.
Though not really the tom's fault, Skipstep still burned with bitterness that Jetclaw had been lost saving the other tom, who had then gone on to become WinterClan leader, and now would be the guardian to Lionpride and Fernskip due to SunClan being unsafe.
Honestly if it weren't for her protection as the High Priestess, which Skipstep was still frustrated by as it kept Foxstar from getting her just desserts, he'd have rather they be going to plot a coup. But he kept such treacherous thoughts to himself, though the Sun God was seemingly powerless to heal Foxstar's mind, or stop her, or really take any responsibility for the ungodly amount of power the dangerous she cat held. The Sun God was not one to anger, and since his mate and himself were so closely tied to the deity now, Skipstep did not want to scorn the god. Even though he'd failed providing protection for his children, which left Skipstep with shaky faith and more wariness towards his deity.
But despite all his misgivings, this was what was best for Lionpride and Fernskip at the moment, and if their current litter could've been moved far away as well, Skipstep would've gladly tucked them out of reach of Foxstar's claws until Foxstar was either struck down... or regained her mind and composure enough to curb her murderous urges.
So he kept his tail twined with Littlebird's swallowed down his bitterness at having to leave his children with Leatherstar and forced himself to do what was best... even though he hated it.
(This will just be before Misty gets sick and all that)
Mistyveil stood awaiting Littlebird and Skipstep to arrive. She could make them out in the misty distance, as they neared closer she could tell there was more of them. Maybe that would make anyone else tense, but even if Littlebird wasn't her bestest friend in the whole wide universe she had little care on whether WinterClan was being invaded. Except maybe the fact that she had newborn kits, but she only had one litter that didn't survive so it was a pretty good record.
Her half blue grey and half peach golden fur was easy to identify out in a crowd let alone in a barren wasteland like WinterClan. She tilted her head recognizing the cats that were with Littlebird. Well.. Maybe not recognize so much as she could tell by the closeness that they walked with Littlebird and Skipstep as well as their features that they were likely hers, "What brings everyone out here?" She asked, deciding not to wait for them to explain. This seemed complicated and anything that was complicated required a lot of beating around the bush, which she wasn't exactly into.

LITTLEBIRD
SUNCLAN PRIESTESS PROMISED
This just didn't seem right, and she felt her gaze falter as Mistyveil and Leatherstar came into view through the thick mist that surrounded the WinterClan border. It was only as she felt Skipsteps small tug that she continued moving forward at his side. She didn't want to do this, to push them into the eagar paws of their father... but their lives were at stake.
She dipped her head to Mistyveil then to Leatherstar, leaning into skipstep for support and motioning for Lionpride and Fernskip to step forward and join them "Leatherstar, you have been wanting to spend time with out kits..." she trailed off, but where did one even begin? How could she explain what she and Skipstep had decided, and why. The words felt heavy on her tongue, as the well rehearsed speech she prepared slipped away.
Skipstep sensing Littlebird's stumbling and knowing she was hurting straightened up. He hated Leatherstar a great deal, but he loved Littlebird and seeing her struggle made him straighten up, keeping his tail twined with hers for support.
And it was for Lionpride and Fernskip's safety and own good they do this.
"Upon retrieving Foxstar from the Regime, it would seem her mind has... fractured. She has become a danger to our family, and thus as you are the blood father of these kits, and you have no love for Foxstar, we want to leave them in your care." Skipstep said simply. He stood tall as he spoke, getting swiftly to the point.
He saw no reason to guard the secret of Foxstar's ailing mind, if anything it was far from a weakness but a threat Leatherstar needed to be aware of. He would need to be prepared to guard Lionpride and Fernskip from any attempts Foxstar could make.
