Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It started off as a beautiful day. Clear blue skies, the forest alive with bird song, and a gentle breeze swept through the camp and rustled the trees nearby. The sun reflected off the mist of the waterfalls at the back of the camp, creating miniature rainbows. Unfortunately, all of this was not enough to satisfy the boredom Windchaser was suffering. She sat in front of the nursery, her belly swollen with yet another litter of kits. She hadn't been out of camp in a few sunrises and she was, without a doubt, bored out of her mind. Perhaps she could persuade someone to take her out of camp...someone who would do anything for her...
She scanned the camp, her bold green eyes searching for a particular cat. Then, they rested on the white and ginger tom she was looking for, Illuminatedpath, the love of her life. He was in a conversation with Rubyflame and she wondered what they were discussing. The ginger warrior rose to her paws and padded over to them, greeting Rubyflame with a nod before affectionately nuzzling her mate. "Excuse me, Rubyflame." She purred as she interrupted them and turned to Illuminatedpath with pleading eyes. "Why dont we go out for a bit? I'm itching to stretch my legs!"
The white and ginger tom purred and nuzzled his mate back. "i suppose we could..."
Rubyflame though looked uncertain, the older she cat had been keeping a close eye on the younger immortal council member. After Eternallaughter had suddenly disappeared... she didn't want to be too careless. Especially what she'd hear Glowstar mention in regards to Foxstar's mental state.
However, she could see how much Windchaser was struggling with being cooped up.
"All right, but Illuminatedpath and I will be accompanying you. You are far along you know," Rubyflame sighed relenting.
"We won't go too far then," Illuminatedpath said brightly resting his tail on Windchaser's flank. "Just enough to give Windchaser a chance to stretch her legs,"
Her eyes lit up when they had agreed to take her outside of camp. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get moving!" She hurried to the camp exit, her tail high in the air and her swollen belly swaying. Finally, she would be out on the moor, feeling the wind in her fur. As soon as she slipped out of camp, relief flooded over her and she immediately felt better. Everything was much more open and not so confined. She began heading toward the moor, that's where she really wanted to go. Out in the open where she can feel the wind and smell all the scents that drifted along with it.
She took the lead, pulling farther ahead than Rubyflame and Illuminatedpath. The sooner they arrived on the moor, the better she will feel. It wasn't long before the world opened up before her in rolling hills and land as far as the eye can see. She climbed a mound of earth and felt the wind on her face, tugging at her whiskers. This was it. This was the life. She was enjoying what she loved most when suddenly, she buckled over in pain. Her stomach was cramping and she was already starting contractions. She yowled in pain, slowly lowering herself until she was laying in the cool grass. "Illuminatedpath! It's the kits! They're coming!" She called to her mate with effort.
Illuminatedpath and Rubyflame let her pull ahead, Rubyflame scanning the area for any signs of trouble, while Illuminatedpath had begun to purr at the look of sheer bliss on his mates face.
The purr died when Windchaser's knees buckled.
Heart jumping to his throat Illuminatedpath rushed to her side, her words registering as he checked her quickly before straightening up. "What will we do?!" He asked glancing back towards camp worriedly. They were a ways out.
Rubyflame immediately came over. She'd had kits before and even though it had been an agonizing and brutal ordeal, she could aide Windchaser a little... but she'd need the help of a medicine cat and apprentice. "Go fetch the medicine cats." She ordered Illuminatedpath. "I will check the area to make sure it's safe, and bring her back some of what might help nearby, but I'd feel better having them here to help."
Illuminatedpath hesitated looking at Windchaser and then at Rubyflame before shakily nodding. He quickly stepped to Windchaser and gave her a gentle nuzzle, murmuring, "I'll be back soon to meet our children with you." He said quickly, before turning and haring off back to camp.
Rubyflame moved to windchasers side and began pushing down some of the grass and gently nudging Windchaser into a more comfortable position. "Lie here and breath for a moment, I'm going to go see if I can find anything nearby that'll help." She said, then pulled away walking down the hill and heading towards a few bushes to see if there was a stick Windchaser could use to bite down on, and maybe some herbs that could prove useful. Rubyflame was no medicine cat, but she was pretty sure she could find something useful.
Windchaser hated that her mate had to go find help. If he missed their kits, she would have no one to blame but herself. Fortunately, this wasn't their first litter but it was still a memorable time for both of them. She nuzzled him back, fighting back the urge to keep him close to her. When he left, she could feel a tugging at her heart. She wanted him there with her more than anything but Rubyflame was wise to send him to fetch the medicine cats. Rubyflame knew more about kitting than he did since she has had her own.
"Thank you..." she grunted, trying to get comfortable as Rubyflame positioned her. Then she watched as Rubyflame left her to find some things to make her kitting easier until the medicine cats arrived. When Rubyflame left, she felt alone. Even though her clanmate wasn't far away, she still felt vulnerable. She was out in the open giving birth to her kits. What could be more vulnerable than that? However, she chose to try and remain calm. Getting stressed would make the kitting much harder.

Too bad for the pair. Foxstar's softest laugh seemed to echo in that moment, for only a fraction of a second it alerted the Immortal Council member to the presence of the High Priestess. Her scent seemed dampened, hidden and almost indistinguishable. Once she made herself known, however, stepping out to give Rubyflame the most vicious smile she possessed, danger and an utter lack of empathy written across her face, the scent went from familiar to blatantly obvious, though still not nearly as strong as it should have been. "Well, hello there."
Rubyflame stiffened when she heard the laugh whipping towards the source, eyes widening in shock at the sight of Foxstar before she straightened up bristling with righteous fury in her eyes. "Foxstar!" She snarled. "What are you doing here?!" She demanded... though on closer inspection of the high priestess, particularly noting the crazed gleam in the fox colored felines eyes had Rubyflame taking a wary step back.
"I'll give you one guess." She purred, matching Rubyflame step for step as she moved back. "Oh, no, too slow." Foxstar chided, launching herself a second later at the she-cat, teeth and claws bared. This one first, then the other one. How wonderful it was they would make this oh so easy for her by splitting up.
Rubyflame hadn't expected Foxstar to immediately strike. The ginger and white she cat was bowled over by the fox colored feline. Gritting her teeth, Rubyflame lashed out with her claws trying to get a purchase and try to turn the tide of the surprise attack she was on the receiving end of.
Foxstar didn't really care about being injured right now. She simply wanted the cat before her dead, as painfully as possible. Her claws went for exposed flesh without remorse, pinpointing bundles of nerves that would send pain shocking up and down her system. Her legs curled in only to explode out towards Rubyflame's stomach, knowing that it was a tender spot, teeth searching for a leg to pull and stretch out in a way it wouldn't naturally. She could take the punches. Truly, she expected Rubyflame wouldn't be as much a fight as Eternallaughter, and she'd managed him just fine.
Rubyflame screeched shocked by the agony that blasted through her body. Muscles tensing and she lashed out biting at what she could of Foxstar seizing one of her forelegs.
Then Foxstar wrenched one of her forelegs and she could feel something snap in a way it really shouldn't and she screeched around the foreleg she was biting down on. But she could feel the grass getting wet under them, and it wasn't from the blood Foxstar's leg was likely giving off.
The terror of possibly daying made Rubyflame abandon her grip on Foxstar's leg and pummel and thrash with everything she had. She could feel fur tearing, blood flowing out of her. And it only made her thrash harder, any strategy long forgotten, just slashing and biting anything she could grab. Desperate to get Foxstar away from her.
Windchaser heard the screeches and immediately began to panic. She couldnt see what was happening and she was struggling with the contractions. "Rubyflame!" She called to her clanmate, her eyes widened with worry.
